[Canada / Quebec] Tonale PHEV 2023 to 2025 owners: 12V battery dying, EV mode locked out, repeated dealer visits. Multiple Check engine, Anyone else?

Hi everyone,

I own a 2024 Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV, bought new in August 2023 for over $60,000 CAD. It now has about 72,000 km and 24 dealer visits in just over 3 years.

The recurring issues: the 12V battery has been replaced several times and keeps draining, EV mode gets locked out by repeated check engine codes, and the high voltage battery coolant pump had to be replaced.

Multiple check engine light for update or other problems.

On the latest visit (October 2026), the dealer found code C2129-1F, blamed the drain on the radio, and applied a software update (TSB 08-370-25).

Many owners on international forums describe the exact same symptoms. I'm trying to find out how many of us there are in Canada, especially in Quebec, where the provincial lemon law and the Consumer Protection Act's reasonable durability guarantee may apply.

The goal: gather cases, then bring a joint file to a law firm specializing in class actions, and to Stellantis Canada, if the numbers justify it. If you're dealing with the same problems, please reply (or DM me) with: your province, model year and trim, current mileage, main issues, approximate number of dealer visits and days off the road, and whether you'd be open to joining a group effort.

I'll compile all responses. Please share this in other Tonale and Alfa Romeo owner groups across Canada.

Thanks!

Looking for tournament organizers or people who know one.

Most tournaments already name a Player of the Game on each team after every game. The kid gets a medal, a puck, a handshake at center ice. I'd like to add one thing to that moment.

I'm a hockey dad from Quebec and the developer of RinkLog, a season logbook app a parent keeps from the stands. For every Player of the Game your tournament names, I provide a printed card with a unique code, good for one full year of the app, so that player can follow their own progress for the rest of the season. (Free 1-year subscription)

It costs the tournament nothing. I print the cards, two per game, I mail them to you, and your announcer keeps doing what he already does. I already have a few tournaments lined up in Quebec this season and I'd like to bring this to the US, Ontario and the rest of Canada.

If you organize a tournament or sit on the committee, fill out the short form at the bottom of this page with your dates and number of games, and I'll answer within 48 hours:

https://rinklog.com/en/tournaments

If you just know a tournament that treats its Players of the Game well, tag them or drop the name in the comments and I'll reach out myself.

I need about four weeks before the first game to get the cards printed and mailed.

First come, first served.

13 and up: which stats would you want to watch move across a season?

Hockey dad, I build stats tools, so I'm biased.

Under 13 I don't think much is worth tracking. But from 13 up the details start to matter, and "great shift, great game, great season" doesn't tell anybody much.

So which numbers would you actually want to watch move across a season and multiple seasons? Not point totals. The ones nobody tracks, that nobody sees, and that matter a lot.

Skaters and goalies both.

Hockey dad from Quebec. I got tired of the scoresheet saying my kid "did nothing" so I spent months building something about it. It launched today.

Hi everyone! Hockey dad from the Quebec City area here. My son has been playing since he was 4 and he's 14 now, and I play dek and beer league myself, so I basically live in arenas twelve months a year.

The thing that pushed me to build this: the scoresheet only tells one story. Goals, assists and penalties. My son could have his best game of the month, real progression on the ice, and if the puck doesn't go in, the sheet says he wasn't there. And for a lot of people, that's all that counts. But hockey today is so much more than that. If you've ever played, you know it: a blocked shot matters, your teammates love you for it. A great pokecheck, a scoring chance created, all of it counts.

But from the stands, you SEE the real progression. Six shots on net instead of one or two, even if none went in. A full game of shifts without giving up a single scoring chance. Faceoffs won in his own zone. PK shifts where nothing got through. None of that is visible on the scoresheet, but THAT's the foundation being built. That's what actually tells you if your player is progressing. And the game moves fast: by the time it's over, half of what you wanted to mention is already gone. Having it recorded means you actually remember the good moments and keep the progression on record, season after season.

I'm a programmer, so I built an app to track exactly that. You tap while you watch, and it turns into 25+ charts over the season: shot zones, ice time, scoring chances for and against, faceoff locations, that kind of thing. Works for forwards, D and goalies, and covers ball hockey/dek and ringette too.

The philosophy matters more to me than the features: it's built to find the positives and the foundations, not to obsess over points (I wrote it up here if you're curious: rinklog.com/en/progression). To be clear, this isn't about manufacturing the next NHLer. My kid's most likely ceiling is beer league with his old man someday, and honestly that's a win. It's about having something real to say on the car ride home besides "you didn't score..."

The account is shareable too, so one game it's me tracking, the next it's my wife or grandpa at a tournament, and everything stays in one history.

It launched today after a summer beta with 60+ families. It's called RinkLog (rinklog.com), free tier available on iOS and web if you want to poke around. There's a founders' price on the paid plan but I won't turn this into an ad.

Happy to answer anything: how it works, what stats are actually worth tracking at different ages, or what it's like shipping an app solo between tournaments. And if there's stuff you wish existed in something like this, tell me. The beta parents shaped half of what's in there.

[Request] Need 5 testers for RinkLog – hockey stats tracking app (will test yours back!)

Hi everyone! I'm at 7/12 testers for my closed test and need 5 more to unlock production access.

App: RinkLog – a bilingual (EN/FR) hockey stats tracker for minor hockey parents. Track shifts, goals, assists, shots and faceoffs from the stands, works 100% offline (built for arenas with no signal).

What I need: Opt in to the closed test and install the app. That's it – you don't need to use it daily.

How: Comment or DM me your Gmail address, I'll add you to the tester list and send you the opt-in link. Takes 2 minutes.

I'll return the favor – happy to test your app for the full 14 days. Just drop your link.

Thanks! VERY MUCH!!!🏒

A new way to track the progression (Beta)

Hi everyone, I'm a hockey dad from Quebec, and this spring I built an app called RinkLog to help us parents track what actually matters during our kids' games..

Not just goals and assists.

Think ice time, hits, blocked shots, shifts on the penalty kill... all the stuff that never shows up on the official scoresheet, but really shows a player's progression game after game.

The app is fully bilingual (English/French), and we're wide open to your suggestions and feedback as we keep improving it.

We've been testing it with a small group so far, and now we're opening it up to more hockey parents everywhere. If you complete a quick 1-minute survey after trying it out, you get 1 full year free.

The whole philosophy behind RinkLog: progression, not pressure. It's about seeing the effort and growth, not just counting points.

If you're curious and want to help us improve it:

Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to jump in! 🏒

Waxed vs regular skate laces, what's the actual point of unwaxed?

Always ran waxed laces and never really got why some guys prefer regular ones. From what I get, waxed stay locked once you tie them, no loosening up during the game, no retying between periods.

Regular laces seem like they'd stretch a bit and loosen with sweat and heat over a game. Is that actually a real problem or does it just not matter in practice?

What's the tradeoff that makes unwaxed worth it for you guys? Feel, price, less annoying to untie after, something else? Curious what everyone runs and why.

👋 Welcome to r/TuneMemory - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone, I'm u/JobeLabs, founder of TuneMemory and a moderator here.

Welcome to the official home of TuneMemory, the audio-trivia party game with a living difficulty system. This is where we'll share development updates, behind-the-scenes looks, campaign news, and everything leading up to launch. Glad you found us early.

A heads-up before anything else: TuneMemory is still a work in progress, and I'm genuinely open to testing and feedback. If you try it and something feels off, or you have an idea, tell me. This early stage is exactly when your input shapes the game the most.

Scan a card, hear an iconic quote, and name the CHARACTER who said it. Not the actor, not the show, the character who actually said the line. Cards span ten pop-culture categories: ads, movies, TV, music, sport, politics, video games, quotes, proverbs and memes.

Here's the part no other board game does: every answer given anywhere in the world recalibrates each card in real time. Questions that get solved too easily start giving smaller bonuses, while the ones that stump the community grow harder and reward more. A specific smell triggers an almost physical breakdown after a traumatic call. Anyone else?

I'm a paramedic, 20 years in. Trying to figure out if this is a known thing or just me.

Here's the part that messes with my head: cigarette smoke has always been background noise for me. I've been around it my whole life, and it's present on something like 75% of my calls. It's the most normal smell in the world to me.

Never bothered me once..

Then I had a call that stuck. Smoke was everywhere at the scene the whole time we worked. Ever since, that same smell sets something off in my body. I get dizzy, a wave of unease all over, sometimes close to going vagal like I'm about to pass out.

And it's not just on calls anymore. I catch a whiff walking down the street, someone smoking outside, and I'm gone. The reaction lands before I've even had a thought.

I'm off work for now because of it. What gets me is that it's a smell I've lived with forever. It's not rare, it's not shocking. It just got wired to that one event somehow.

So I'm asking: has anyone here had an everyday smell turn into a physical trigger after a hard call? Where it follows you into normal life, not just the job? Did it fade? Did anything help, EMDR, therapy, exposure work? Does this have an actual name?

Not looking for a diagnosis, just trying to know I'm not alone with this. Thanks.

TuneMemory - Hybrid trivia party game where you guess the character behind iconic audio quotes (bilingual)

Playable Link:

https://tunememory.com/demo

https://tunememory.com

Platform:

Browser and Mobile (no install, runs in any modern browser on phone or desktop, designed mobile-first)

https://preview.redd.it/kfdm7z55ja3h1.png?width=3000&format=png&auto=webp&s=27466476606e8300cb0049166b56a90ef6086031

Description:

TuneMemory is a bilingual hybrid trivia party game where players scan physical cards with a QR code, an audio quote plays through a companion web app, and they have to guess the CHARACTER who said the line. Not the actor, not the show, the character who actually says the words.

At the center of it all looms the Master of Frequencies, a single grumpy theatrical narrator who is convinced human cultural memory is dead. Your job across the game is to prove him wrong, one correct answer at a time. He mocks you when you miss, judges you in silence when you decline a challenge, and twists his own radio frequencies just to see you sweat.

The Master voices most of the quotes himself in his own theatrical voice, but a portion of the lines, especially in categories like advertisements, sports moments and public events, are delivered through other generic narrator voices that fit the tone of each category. Every voice in the game is original. No reproduction of recordings, no voice cloning, no imitation of identifiable people.

Ten categories: movies, TV series, music, sport, politics, video games, quotes, proverbs, memes, advertisements. Ten difficulty levels per category.

THE DESIGN CHOICE I AM MOST PROUD OF: THE LIVING DIFFICULTY SYSTEM

Each card has a difficulty that evolves in real time based on global player performance. A card everyone misses gets harder and rewards more. A card everyone solves gets easier and rewards less. The whole community calibrates the game together, which means the card you play tonight is shaped by every player who came before you, and your answer shapes the card for whoever plays it next. The board game evolves with its entire community in real time.

And the system goes deeper than just difficulty: every card you answer correctly opens the door to a follow-up question from the Master, where you can risk your point for double. The catch is that the chance of being asked this Double or Nothing question scales directly with the card's current global difficulty.

- Easy card the community keeps solving? Less than 15% chance the Master will challenge you. Small reward, small risk.

- Hard card the world keeps missing? Up to 50% chance the Master will lean in and demand more. Big reward, big risk.

So the harder the community finds a card, the more often it transforms into a real moment of tension. The difficulty does not just adjust the score, it adjusts the rhythm of the game itself.

Beyond this core loop, two push-your-luck systems raise the stakes:

* Replica Tokens let your team punish the opposing side when they miss.

* Double or Nothing is the Master's personal challenge after a correct answer, where you can risk your point for double or keep what you have.

Random Chaos Mode events can also distort the audio with glitch, echo, reverb or altered playback speed, the radio's frequencies bleeding into your game when you least expect it.

The full game ships as physical cards plus the companion app. The demo is a free print-and-play with 12 virtual cards covering three regional editions (USA/Canada English, Quebec French, France French). You can pick whichever culture matches you best, it all runs in the browser.

Here is a quick promo video, and a full real session video is coming soon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uUBYV8nXMA

SHAPE THE FINAL GAME: SUGGEST A QUOTE

You can even suggest a quote for the final printed edition. There is no guarantee it will be selected, and the team makes the final call on what fits the game. But if your suggestion does make the cut, your name will be in the credits of the printed game forever. It is a small way to thank the people who help shape what TuneMemory becomes. The form lives on the main site.

Documents available if you want to dig deeper:

- Full rules: https://tunememory.com/rules

- FAQ: https://tunememory.com/faq

- Main site: https://tunememory.com

What I am looking for in feedback:

- Is the Master of Frequencies fun or does he get annoying after a few cards?

- Are the audio quotes too long, too short, just right?

- Does the community difficulty system feel meaningful when you play, or invisible?

- Did the Double or Nothing scaling probability create real tension on harder cards?

- How does the experience compare on mobile vs desktop?

- Anything in the UI that confused you or broke your flow?

- Bugs? Glitchs?

If the project resonates and you want to follow the upcoming campaign, the pre-launch page is here, but the demo above is what I am actually asking you to look at:

Free to Play Status:

- [x] Free to play (12-card print-and-play demo)

- [ ] Demo/Key available

- [ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)
