My personal Pixar collection

I don’t like every single Pixar movie, but I like most of them. I find a few of the newer ones a bit weak and I haven’t tried Elio, but until I get Toy Story 5 (I’m gonna wait until the Blu-ray price goes down a bit before I buy it), I completed a collection of all of my Pixar favorites.

First Resident Evil experience, any tips?

I saw Resident Evil 2 remake on a keyshop for steam at a good price a couple of days ago, and I decided to get it. I'd heard it was the best of the series. I've been playing it on my steam deck for a couple of days now (watched a video recap of the first game's story before starting RE2) and I would love any tips. I'm at the point where I just put the first piece of film into the tub. I decided to play on assist mode because I'm more of a casual player and I heard it had aim assist.

The strategies I've formed so far with the help of comments on other reddit posts are to shoot zombies in the knees rather than kill them, and save a lot.

This show has become my favorite comfort show even though I’ve had major parts spoiled for me

I just finished season 1 of the mentalist. I’ve been able to thoroughly enjoy this show even though I’ve had >!the true identity of Red John!< spoiled for me, as well as >!Jane and Lisbon’s wedding occurring in the final season!<. Please don’t say the first of the two, because the Redditor who I saw say it may have been incorrect, and I frankly don’t want to know.

My previous comfort series was Severance, and I’m very relieved that Mentalist is far longer. So far my favorite character besides the main two (Lisbon and Jane) is Risby. I’ve seen people making essential episodes lists, and I originally considered skipping the non-Red John episodes, but now that I’ve seen the complete season 1 I’m glad I didn’t, so many absolute gold moments. Anyways, I totally understand why you guys love this show so much and I’m so excited to join for this wild ride.

(Edit: I also absolutely love Cho’s deadpan delivery.)
(Edit. 2: Fixed my incorrect spelling of Risby’s name.)

Am I the only one who doesn't check the ratings?

I liked the show from the start, got hooked at "Walkabout" and I kept going. I finished Season 6 and I felt like it was a great ride. I didn't think there were any particularly weak episodes besides "Expose", because I generally just enjoyed the series. Am I the only one who pretty much liked all of it (except Expose)? I see people complaining about some episodes being stupid or unnecessary, comparing ratings for different episodes, but I just enjoyed the story.

Anyone have any good Spider-Man Remastered settings?

I've been playing the game at 40fps. It only occasionally dips, but I've heard consistent 30fps is better. The issue is, whenever I set it to 30fps it suddenly looks much more choppy than I see in the youtube videos where they show what 30fps is supposed to look like. The steam monitor says that the fps isn't dipping, but it still looks choppy. Anyone got good settings configs or advice?

Is it bad to keep the cases and throw out the covers?

I have a significant collection of Blu-rays for older movies, and I’ve been upgrading them to 4k. I have a decent number of empty 2-disc 4k cases, so whenever I get a 4K release with only the single 4k disc, I move the cover to a 2-disc case and I move the older Blu-ray there too. I want to have the compatibility of both formats. Is it bad to keep the cases, but throw out the regular Blu-ray covers since I don’t need them anymore?

I think the Bad Guys films are underrated

I don’t mean that they’re hated (besides “Schaffrillas” who hated them), but I just think they deserve more recognition.

The generally accepted list of peak Dreamworks seems to be:

  1. Shrek films
  2. HTTYD films
  3. KFP films

but imo the bad guys films should be added as number 4, there. They effortlessly make me laugh and work as comfort movies, but I also think they have solid action.

Local thrift store has 50 cent DVDs/Blu-rays special

Picked these up for one dollar total. Never seen either of them but I’ve heard good things.

When will they return to skits?

I'm aware of their movie Obsession, as well as their upcoming projects, but when will they begin making their comedy skits again?

Disney Blu-ray’s prove how high Blu-ray’s potential truly is

I’ve been collecting most of the Pixar movies on Blu-ray, I have all of them through 2020 on Blu-ray with Cars 3 and Toy Story 4 as the only 4K’s. I’m more picky after 2020 because there were a lot of quality dips, although some hidden gems still exist from recent years. Recently I picked up Zootopia 2 (I know it isn’t Pixar) and Elemental, both on Blu-ray, and I’m shocked with how good these still look on modern screens. I think high quality animation proves how much life Blu-ray still has alongside 4k, personally I believe they even rival 4K Disney+. In fact, all of the Disney Blu-ray’s I’ve collected look absolutely phenomenal. I’m grateful for this because the 4K’s are way too expensive IMO.

I’ve been collecting them on Blu-ray (used listings on eBay) since I liked them on streaming, but what’s the deal with these DC logos on the spines?

Why did they make the DC logos look so different?

Is it a Hot Take that Death of Superman (2018) and Reign of the Supermen (2019) are much better than Superman: Doomsday (2007)?

Although I'm aware that they're two separate continuities, I just think the 2018-2019 version of the plotline had better pacing and was more fleshed out, even though it's an altered version of the story.
