It feels like I might never find love (25F)

I’ll own up to this absolutely being a bitter post. But I’m frustrated and just want to get it out.

I got out of a 4 year relationship in October 2025 and found a completely foreign dating landscape. When I was last dating people still actually went on dates!!! But now it feels like no one is looking for anything serious, or they say they are and then I discover, holy shit nope!

I just experienced my 3rd “3month situationship” that I didn’t know was a situationship.

Every time it goes:

Me: “so what’re you looking for?”

Them: “ I’m open. If I find someone I really like id love to be in a relationship. And if not that’s cool too”

Me: “same. Glad we’re on the same page”

We then go on dates, hang out, etc etc until it reaches three months and I’m finally like “heyyy… so what’re we doing here?”

To which the reply is always, “I really like you. I’m just not in the place to be there for someone emotionally or consistently right now. But can we keep doing what we’re doing?”

To which my answer is “no.” Because this being said at a point where we’re behaving like we’re in a relationship, and they would like it to continue that way, but don’t want to commit. Which is FINE. BUT JUST SAY THAT FROM THE START.

I’m tired. I just want someone who respects and cares for me the same way I do them.

Do people still date normally??? How do I find them???

I’ll admit I am in a very transient city so a lot of the time people are just passing through. Which may be part of the issue. But my friends who live in other places have the same issue.

Ideas for funding an album?

Pls don’t tell me to get a job. I have a job and a degree.

I’m looking for suggestions on ways I can accumulate some money into my music bank acc bc what I make from my job is only enough for life stuff (rent, food, gas, etc).

I’m definitely going to start a crowd funding campaign. But also curious if anyone has other suggestions.

Again, these are streams of income solely for the album

Comfy decent quality guitar under $500 for a woman? - for indie/shoegaze sound

Hey guys! I posted a few days ago asking for suggestions for guitar recs for a woman with particular features (large chest and small hands). Yall really pulled through with the suggestions! Theres a LOT of comments I need to comb through. And I honestly might be nerdy and put the suggestions in a spreadsheet or something so I can see what the most common rec was.

But In the mean time… I wanted to ask for recs a little more specific to my needs. I left the last post pretty open ended purposefully but here I wanted to see if anyone can think for something that fits these criteria.

Things to consider:

-I play rhythm guitar

-shoegaze and indie rock/pop tones, think wall of sound rhythm guitar (running through a pedal board or helix stomp)

-I use a fair amount of alternate tunings and switch fairly frequently so having a guitar that will reliably stay in tune would be ideal

- my proportions: pls don’t be weird to me about my body. I am stating this info bc it’s relevant to comfort and fit. I’m 5’2, curvy, H cup, VERY small hands

- budget: under $500

- will be looking on fb market place, reverb, guitar centers used section, and sweet waters used section. Open to other ideas too!

-looking for something relatively light, doesn’t have to be anything crazy, j something that won’t hurt my shoulders/back

I met someone incredible, bur he lives in a different state - wtf do I do?

About a month and a half ago I matched with this guy on an app. I knew he didn’t live anywhere near me. I live in a very touristy city so I’m used to tourists on the apps. And as a single lady interested in just getting to know interesting people, sometimes I don’t mind going out with ppl who don’t live here j for the sake of connecting with someone cool and having a fun date. Which is how I thought this one would go.

He explained that he’d been working in a city fairly close by and was on his way back to his home town and making a stop in my city to see his buddy anyway. We really hit it off over text so when he asked to take me out I enthusiastically said yes.

Even before the date we had discovered a lot of common interests and weird coincidences. His favorite band? A band I’ve known personally my whole life. We’re both half white half Hispanic. We have the same age difference from our siblings. We’re the same zodiac sign (I’m like t days older than him). Etc etc… before we even went out we both expressed feeling like this was a sort of serendipitous meeting.

When we actually met in person I was so pleasantly surprised. He’s handsome, tall ( height isn’t important to me but it was a pleasant surprise), smart, funny, interesting, and kind???? We had a great little date at a dive bar and then ended up going to mine. Yes partially with the mutual unspoken intention of physical intimacy, but also bc we were having a great time talking and wanted to keep hanging out.

We ended up spending the entire night talking. We just really connected. We were getting along to the point where he went to take a smoke break and I said “I might sit inside for this one”, he went outside for approx 15 seconds before popping his head back in and saying “at least come sit with me!” And I did.

At the beginning of the night wed come to a mutual agreement that no subject of conversation was off limits. He’d apologized for making a reference to his ex but I had said “I don’t really mind if you talk about your exes. I want to get to know you and how you think.” Which he said he found refreshing and approaches dating similarly. And we definitely committed to this. We talked past relationships, spirituality/religion, politics, families, jobs, music, theology… and the craziest part is while we may use different labels, we’re aligned In our core beliefs. And admittedly I think the way his brain works is very sexy. I think he’s both academic and emotionally intelligent.

I have to admit there was a point in the night where he was off on some tangent and I was listening and watching him and thought to myself “fuck… I think this is my person. No that’s INSANE”.

We ended up spending the weekend together. And i genuinely enjoyed every moment. Idrk how to mention this delicately but i will say, the physical stuff was also phenomenal. Not bc it was wild or anything like that. But bc it felt like we were both present and connected. He’s very much a direct communicator and does not hide his feelings so I felt very assured of his affection the entire time.

At some point I had said “it’s a shame you live a 10hr drive away.” And he said, “I’m not afraid of a little drive.”

When he eventually left I was sad but it truly didn’t feel like a goodbye but rather a “see you later”. And I’m still pretty confident that’s the case.

Since then we’ve talked nearly every day. I think the longest we’ve gone without texting is a day. We mostly text about shared interests like music, but we also get personal, spiritual, goofy, etc. we’ve called/facetimed twice and we were both all smiles and giggles the whole time.

I should mention he’s on the autism spectrum and we both have adhd so we communicate in funny ways. But it’s very comfortable and pretty clear to me there’s mutual respect and attraction still. Neither of us have really broached the topic of seeing the other one (directly) but he has done things like offer to buy guitars I’m selling so I can buy a new one but wants me to “hold on to them until I see you”. So I’m pretty positive he wants to see me again too 😅.

The more I get to know him the more I like him. Ofc he’s attractive and has a stable job and stuff, which is all great. But it’s the cognitive connection that really gets me. In talks with my therapist we’ve said that at the very least I’ve learned someone like this exists and I CAN find someone well matched for me. And at most, this could turn into something awesome.

Where I’d love some advice is how tf do I navigate this connection lol. I’ve never done long distance. It’s not even like we’re dating, we’re still just getting to know each other. And he lives a 10 hr drive away.

As of rn my plan is to continue getting to know him and then to eventually ask to come visit him. We’re both still dating other people, which I think is healthy since it technically was just one date and I think (aka my therapist suggests) it’s good to keep myself open to possibilities until I’m sure of something and getting expressed commitment from someone. But I have found myself way less interested in dating apps.

Idk I’m not really sure what to do on this situation. All I know is I like him a lot and I hope I get to see him again and get know him as well as i can.

Electric guitars that are comfortable for women?

Hi friends! I’m in the market for a new guitar and I’m trying to figure out what I want exactly. My biggest concerns are finding a good quality sound with a comfortable fit. Unfortunately most guitars are not terribly comfortable for me to play as a woman with a large chest and small hands. So I was curious if anyone had any recommendations?

My perimeters:
- thin neck, I’m fine with full or short scale
- not too heavy (so no les Paul’s lol)
- good sound for shoegaze/indie
- guitar body that’s a decent shape for a short torso large chested gal
- stays in tune (I play in a lot of alternate tunings)

Im not mentioning budget bc im mostly j curious what guitars fit this criteria bc even if i dont get the perfect one now, i can save for a better one later.

Edit: my current budget is under $500, but i want to hear all kinds of suggestions j incase!

Sometimes you find a gem

On Thursday I matched with a guy in hinge that’s just passing through my city, but the conversation was so good that it felt like it’d be a waste not to hang out. Personally I just want to connect with cool people, even if it’s possible it won’t work out.

I won’t get too into the details. I’m honestly here to gush about how amazing this person is and how glad I am that I said yes to hanging out even though he doesn’t live here. But just so you have some context, we went to drinks and then he came back to mine where we talked and wrote a little song and other things ofc.

This man is so incredibly handsome, smart, thoughtful, interesting, and creative. He’s incredibly open minded but also firm in his beliefs BECAUSE he’s explored them and himself. We also share an appreciation for the necessity of growing pains and discomfort, which feels really rare to find.

He left this morning to go hang out with his friend here and then will likely head home tonight or tomorrow. And as sad as it is that he doesn’t live here, I don’t regret meeting him one bit. I’m glad I didn’t withhold the experience of meeting an awesome person from myself.

I know this isn’t a traditional success story, but it feels like a win to me. Because at worst it was an amazing night with someone I never see again, and at best I’ve developed either a potential relationship or friendship with someone I think it’s awesome.

Neighborly concern for the drivers of Nashville

Dear Drivers of Nashville,
I truly worry for you. Are your eyes well? Perhaps your motor skills deteriorating? I mean what else possess someone to never turn on their turn signal, stop in the middle of of major roads, flash your brights into oncoming traffic, and tail people on the exit ramp?

If not illness of the body… perhaps illness of the mind….

EDIT:
I do not mean people flashing their high beams at me. I do see the confusion do to my wording. I meant the ppl who have them on for miles at a time and likely don’t realize they’re on. Not like flashing them. If ppl were doing that to me I would be concerned something was wrong with my car.

Also I’m not saying I’m a great driver, just trying to be silly and make light of
The frustration i experience on the roads. I definitely make mistakes and am not perfect!

Admittedly I’m being a bit hyper vigilant bc I just moved out of a place that was inhospitable (not my fault, landlords fault) and I can’t handle this dirty bath tub. Theres weird streaks on the tub, grime on the metal, and black sludge around the drain
