Pre party question

When does the pre party start/ when has it started in past years? I gotta drive 6 hours up from Oregon and I’m thinking about getting a pre party ticket but I’m arriving on Friday so I’m not sure if its a good idea

Design advice

I do a lot of black n gray tattoos, but I have an appointment to do this color piece. I can’t change the wrapper color (it’s supposed to be a sort of wax paper wrapper that shows the color of the cupcake a bit) or cupcake color, and I don’t plan on actually putting white in the frosting (per clients request & personal preference). But I’m hoping for some constructive criticism an maybe advice on what I could do better on with my background and overall.

Design advice!!

hi!! Black & gray tattooer here, wanting to try some color.
I have an appointment Saturday to tattoo this cupcake on a coworker (we worked in a bakery together). The cupcake is a red velvet cupcake with a white frosting, and a heart chocolate decor. The wrapper on the actual cupcake is a sort of wax paper, so it shows the color of the cupcake.
I have no problem designing black & gray tattoos but for some reason I struggle with making color stuff look good. Think I gotta work on color theory!
How can I improve this design?! It’s going somewhere on her arm, and it’ll be about 4-5 inches. The second slide is the first design I made like months ago and scrapped bc it was too realistic for her taste.
No I am not planning on using white ink in the frosting.
