The first EV I drove was the MG Comet and it made me fall in love with EVs. Comet was small and practical in the city and smaller roads. And at the opposite end of the spectrum came the MG Windsor EV and I wanted to experience it.
So I rented a Windsor EV for family use. What blew my mind was the torque and acceleration in 'Normal' & 'Sports' mode. 'Normal' mode in itself feels like a torque monster. It reacts instantly to the accelerator pedal input. 'Sports' mode makes it feel like a sports car. I was easily able to overtake cars without any hesitation. I love that there is a customisable button on the steering wheel - i used it to change driving modes and would shift into sports mode when I needed to overtake swiftly and there is no lag or delay, it's instant torque. Acceleration is mind blowing. It pushes you back into the seat all the way until it reaches around 85 - 90 kmph. It reaches 100 kmph effortlessly and i pushed it to around 135 kmph but I knew it had enough torque left to go faster. And stability is solid. It can handle uneven roads easily even at higher speeds. Range is also good. There's loads of space inside. Reclining rear seats are heavenly. The headlights are very bright. Brakes are strong. What I found lacking is the AC - it fails to effectively cool the entire car in very hot conditions. But as the intensity of the sun decreases the AC is able to handle much better. And the AC vents are less practical too. The infotainment system felt a bit laggy. And tire and road noises leak into the cabin - it's not annoyingly loud but i like a little sound feedback so the car feels planted to the road.
If i could I would definitely get the Windsor with BaaS option. Maybe one day I will. 🥹
Cheers 🍀
EVM Wheels in Kalamassery used to have a good ev renting option. Used to include basic 135kms daily limit + no conditions apply.
After a while they said that it needs to be returned with at least 50% battery or else extra charges will be added.
Now they reduced the kms to 68 (which is half of what was given before). They have a main office outside the city which means self pick-up and drop-off will eat up at least 20kms from the 68kms. And apart from all of that they added fuel charge (god knows what).
Any other EV renting options available in Kochi? Thanks.
It can be done. There are bigger expandable/collapsible buttons in the notification drawer but just not available to expand the actual notifications. It's annoying. I hope OnePlus changes it in some future updates.
Live Space is here and it looks cool and feels functional 🤩
[Communications Today](https://www.communicationstoday.co.in/the-bundle-defended-telcos-line-up-against-trais-voice-only-mandate/)
"The current consultation is more prescriptive: it asks for a voice-and-SMS-only plan, ringfenced from data, with TRAI retaining the power to monitor pricing for reasonableness. That last clause - implicit price oversight - is the one the operators have flagged as the most consequential. A regulator that can opine on the reasonableness of a mandated plan's price has, in effect, partial control over the floor of the tariff curve."
The opinion of the regulatory authority is almost like our opinions and is for the good of the consumers, and the operators' disagreement says a lot about how much they care about their end users.
The greed is strong
I wanted to test the quality of the brand so I got the camera skin which was ₹46. Surprisingly it's not cheap and the material is good and thin enough but still protective 🍀
