My hands have these weird growths that look like calluses, but get itchy at times and seem to be in weird places. I’m getting convinced they could be something other than calluses, maybe warts? I do manual labor and lift, but they look different from what I usually get. Thanks!
Yeah so I know this isn’t the place for asking for help with this, but I don’t really have any other options. I’m an 18 yo sophomore who’s completed all of my core curriculum and recently got admitted into the BMED program, and I’m having issues with making a schedule. I have 0 income or support from my parents so I’m maxed out on FAFSA, Texas Grant, and the UTRGV tuition advantage, which means if I want to keep all of that I need to enroll for 15 hours for fall 26. The issue I’m running into is that I need to pretty much completely enroll in major specific classes, but all the upper level BMED courses need departmental approval. I have emailed four times, to two different emails, and waited over 3 weeks for a response while the classes fill. I’m not sure how to get the departments attention at this point, I feel like they’re not taking me seriously lol. I also made and appointment with my advisor but she told me she can’t help me since its BMED specific. (they have not emailed me my BMED advisors info) anyway, what can I do to get a schedule before it’s too late? Can I go somewhere in person? Does anyone in the program experience difficulties contacting the Biomedical Sciences Department? Any advice or help is appreciated, I’m desperate lol. I just wanna graduate.
I’m located in Brownsville and my significant other and I are unemployed college students with no insurance and terrible cavities. I heard about Su Clinica in Harlingen as it’s federally funded and goes on a sliding scale, and I wanted to ask if anyone had used their service and how it works. I know they likely won’t have good service, as I called just now and they blew me off, but I honestly don’t give a shit. This country doesn’t have any foundation for healthcare, but really trying not to loose my teeth here. If I’m not eligible I’ll likely have to figure out how to get work done in Mexico, I mentioned us being college students and UTRGV offers an emergency grant for stuff like this, which I’d have to use to get a passport and pay for the appointment cost. Anyway, all help or advice would be appreciated. Just trying to get my teeth done in the cheapest, safest way possible lol. I don’t care about the customer service, just going to have to push through it.

Had this shrimp tank for a few months now, only like 6-8 neocaridina shrimp are in it as I have been letting them be while I try to work on plant life. Parameters are relatively stable (8.0 ph, 140 kh and gh, 0 nitrate, nitrites, and ammonia) but I have an issue with hair algae, spot algae, and bladder snails. The substrate is absolutely disgusting, I cleaned it about a week ago but I think all the detrius is waste from the snails. I typically don’t mind them but it’s getting out of hand. I haven’t fed in weeks, I try to keep the light off most of the day (it’s really only on for a total of 4ish hours at most) and there still seemed to be some kind of nutrient imbalance. Is this a strip and re do kinda thing or is there something I can do to stabilize the tank? Thanks guys.
I will be asking this to as many people from other countries as possible, but I am an 18 year old college student who is about halfway through my bachelors degree in biomedical science. I am, very unfortunately, American. After I graduated, I was planning to be both a masters and PhD in neuroscience/ a related field as I wanted to become a psychopharmacologist and do research on psilocybin microdosing / other psychoactives. This has been a dream of mine since I was at least a freshman in high school, and as the county is heading in a nosedive, (major research funding cut today, as well as the NSF being basically fully dismantled. Along with that they are continuing to cut student loans, especially past the graduate level) I’m wondering if I should even be pursuing stem anymore / if I should be moving to another country. I don’t think any research I miraculously even get the opportunity to do at university / in my professional career will be even taken as factual for at least another 50 years. Thanks, Canada.
