I don’t want to be rude

I am sitting in the training room doing my orientation and there are people taking their lunches in here being really loud. Don’t we have a break room for this??

I don’t want to be that person, but if I can hear you over the headphones and the computer….you are too loud…..

EDIT TO ADD:

My ASDS IS THE BEST!

She is going to make it very clear the training room isn’t for breaks. It’s for training. Period. The end. No if, but’s or ands. She said I deserved to train in peace, as does anyone else.

Work. Sleep. Work. Repeat.

As the caption says, that’s all I do. I lost my identity after the divorce (military spouse, for those of you who understand). Now all I do is go to work, come home, sleep, rinse and repeat. No interest in trying to make new friends or date (ick). I’m cordial with co workers but I don’t want to see them outside work. I’m set to spend the next 25 years of my life with this company so I can retire somewhat comfortable without needing to move to an assisted living facility unless I choose to do so out of my own free will. There will be no family around.

I’m not asking for pity. Just writing into the void, I guess.

If I Wasn’t “Blank” I Would Work In “Blank”

I am very excited to work in paint. I’m an artist on the side (working with watercolor at the moment) so this is perfect for me.

BUT, if I wasn’t in Paint, I would want to be in Lighting or Kitchen & Bath.

What about you?

Technology hates me apparently

So I go in for orientation today and I tried to login with the login information I’m given and it keeps throwing an error code and of course you can’t call anybody because it’s the weekend. So back I go on Monday. Hiring manager says that it happens all the time. It’s nothing I did. It’s nothing anyone did she said go home, Enjoy your weekend and we’ll see you Monday.

Also, I found out I will be the only person in my department during my scheduled shifts. Yay……

Education & Experience

So I think that as of right now, I’ve decided that this is where I’m going to dig in my heels and make a career. That being said when it comes to promoting and working your way up in the company, does education or experience matter more? I have an associates degree in psychology and I’m seven classes away from another associates in marketing. I’ve also got over six years of customer service and retail experience. As I posted in a previous post, I am starting out in paint, but I think eventually I would like to work in management somehow. I did help run the front end at a clothing store for two years so I have that management experience if you will without the title and pay.

Start Next Week!

Went in today to confirm I liked the job offer and hours. They sent off the background check and I’ll likely start orientation next week.

Teeshirts are okay, right? Solid and graphic? They just told me no leggings.

Best IMO?

I currently work part-time as a sales and marketing rep for a
water treatment / home water quality company and I’m looking for an IMO to sign up with. My biggest requirement is that I am 1000% able to work from home and on a very part-time schedule. I would also rather not have to pay for leads. At least not in the beginning.

Who do you recommend? And why? And I’m in the Midwest if it matters.

Second Associates

So I already have an associates in General Studies from a local community college. I’m looking into getting an associates from PF just because of cost and time.

I’m thinking business management or Human Resources. I currently work for one of Home Depot’s vendors and love it, but I feel like having a business degree would be beneficial.

Appreciate thoughts & insight.

I came to work and the manager is like “wow you showed”.

And when I said “hey” to her and another coworker, she said “is for horses”. I really don’t like her sarcasm.

For the record, I missed yesterday because of 🤢 and 💩. So I was trying to be cognizant of everyone else.

I love the dogs I work with. The humans make me want to scream.

Divorced almost 3 months but still maintaining what may or may not be described as a “healthy” relationship with my ex-husband.

He invited me over last night for dinner, movie and so I can do my laundry, because my apartment complex doesn’t have washers or dryers in the apartments and the laundry facility stinks.

We’re sitting there talking and he says, completely unprovoked, out of the blue, etc…

“I still love you, but I hated being married to you”

*insert wide eyes and open mouth*

Then why TF were we married at all?

I spent $175.00 the last time I went to the grocery store. It was what I call a p and p shop (personal and paper) along with my food and dog food.

I don’t buy junk food, I don’t buy name brand. I guess I just didn’t realize how difficult it is to go from buying for two people to one person.
