Does anyone have a unicycle I could borrow for the Pride Parade on the 12th?

I knew how to ride as a kid, and thought it might be fun to ride in the parade! It's definitely a weird ask, but if you have one handy, I'd love to borrow it for the weekend of Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th.

Muscle contractions after a cascade loosening effect from a released muscle knot

Looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience.

I'm diagnosed with fibromyalgia and hypermpbility, and waiting to be genetically tested for EDS. I had a muscle knot I'd had for years release at the top of my neck, and it caused a cascade effect of muscle tension released on my left jaw, right shoulder, and right hip. Both arms and legs rotated inward as the muscles contracted again and I couldn't straighten them. It lasted for over 12 hours until muscle relaxants at the ER took effect. It's happened two more times to lessee degrees. My electrolyte levels are normal so they blamed it on physical manifestation of anxiety.

What's your favourite pasta dish?

I love a chicken penne with mushrooms, tomatoes, onion, and peas, in a basil cheese cream sauce.

Do your gerbils have themed names?

I always do food names for my rodents. My current girls are Mocha and Latte, proceeded by Beans and Mashed Potato. My hamsters were also Flapjack and Nugget.

Has your synesthesia faded or disappeared over time?

When I was a kid, I could see colours from sounds, smells, and tastes, but the smell and taste synesthesia was completely gone by the time I was 10yo. Now I'm 28, and my chromesthesia is significantly reduced. I feel grief about it because it's always been something I enjoyed, especially with music.

What's your favourite Drawfee episode?

My favourite overall is redrawing the same classic painting. For when I'm in a silly mood, cursed ships. And when I'm feeling artsy, song shuffle challenge.

When you meet the little sis for the first time

After two weeks of slow introductions, this was the first time that Nox (kitten) approached Luna (grey) and Luna didn't run away.

Rosa Parks was an intentional activist who underwent organized training. Her protest on the bus wasn't spontaneous - she planned to take a stance.

You can read more about her training on her biography website. Remember that organized resistance is essential to making a change.

Edit: This isn't to take away from what she did. It was incredibly brave of her to take an anti-segregation stance, especially knowing that she would be arrested.

What are your thoughts on our flag? I saw this subreddit uses the yellow one, and I've also seen the one below

I prefer this one tbh, just because it has more colours and looks more distinct from national flags, but I don't have a strong opinion either way.

Edit:
Image Description: Muted shades in a diagonal stripe pattern on a grey background make up the Disability Pride Flag:
•Green represents Sensory Disabilities
•Blue represents Psychiatric Disabilities
•White represents non-visible and undiagnosed Disabilities
•Gold (yellow) represents Cognitive and Intellectual Disabilities
•Red represents Physical Disabilities.
•Grey honours the disabled lives lost. End ID.

ELI5: How do bird voice-boxes/syrinx work?

How do they make different sounds without vocal chords? If they also have a larynx, what is it for if it's not for producing sounds?

What are some sensory-friendly, gluten-free activities for a special occasion?

I've been a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters for 5 years now, and my little sister is turning 18 this summer. It marks not only the end of high school and start of adulthood, but also her graduation from the BBBS program. For her 16th, I took her to high tea at the Pendray Tea House, which was amazing, but I'm looking for other options. Some things to consider:

  • She's celiac so we need gluten-free options
  • She has some sensory issues, so nothing too loud or crowded
  • She has difficulty walking for long distances, so it can't be too much activity

I'm considering tea at Butchart Gardens or the Empress, a tour of the Butterfly Gardens and lunch/dinner at Floy's Diner, or a day at the RBC museum and food at the Spaghetti Factory. I just want to make the day special.

Cis autistic women, how do you feel towards your gender?

I know that autistic folks have a higher rate of being trans/nonbinary, but for those of you assigned female at birth who identify as a woman, is it a strong attachment? I feel like I'm a woman by default, and if I woke up in a male body tomorrow, I'd have no problem being a man. My AuDHD little sister is the opposite, where she feels that being a woman is an integral part of who she is as a person. How do you feel?

Many rescues are desperate for foster families right now. Kitten season is coming up, and I've heard from GVAC rescue that they really need bunny fosters. It's a great family activity and way to litmus test if your kids are responsible enough for a pet of their own

I have a few basic ideas like writing a letter from the perspective of a historic figure, propaganda posters, etc. but in general I'm really bad a gamifying socials topics.
