Safe to compost Hanniford To Go paper bags?

What do we think, r/gardening fam? Are we peeling the stickers off these bags and composting them?

Help putting up a shower curtain

I’m just a homeowner who is ready to swap this tension rod to a real shower curtain rod. What do I need to know about hanging the rod? Drilling through tile? How much weight can it hold?

Edge Sealant

Just put in new tiled tub/shower surround. Is this an OK product to use along the outside edges of the tile, along the side edges of the tub, and where the fixtures meet the tile?

How long should this take a contractor?

First off, sorry mods for posting something that isn’t technically about DIY. I have a carpenter remodeling a bathroom and I’m wondering why it’s taking so long. He farms out a bunch of steps to his tradesmen. Currently the bathroom has roughed-in framing, plumbing, electrical, and passed the rough-in inspection. From my understanding, next is to install the tub, tile the floor and tub surround, and have the plumber install the tub fixtures, toilet, and vanity. I’ve already given this guy weeks of extra time, and I’m wondering if this project can wrap up one week from now. I’m not handy myself so genuinely hoping to learn here.

Teach me the best way to fix this wall after removing glued-up facade

Just bought a house from \~1905, walls are plaster. 5 rooms have this brick facade glued up. When I rip it off it pops the painted layer off the plaster. I haven’t pulled down 3 of the 5 walls yet. Anyone with experience, what would you do to return these walls to normal after removing facade? Don’t hold back, give me materials, tools, methods, safety concerns, anything. I’m willing to pay for the right tools and materials to do this correctly. Thx

I cannot make “turn off” work in time-based light settings

I have a smart button in my kids room. I want this button to turn the light on and off between 5am and 5pm, but I want the button to NOT turn the light on between 5pm and 5am. I thought the time-based settings in the screenshot would work, but the light turns on like normal even during the evening setting. Why is this happening? Any ideas on how to achieve my desire of button not turning light on during certain time?

I just set up a new bulb and smart button in my son’s room. I set up an automation on the smart button that prevents the button from turning on the light during the night (he has been waking up to read in the middle of the night). However, I’m worried that he will be able to bypass this automation by flipping the normal light switch. Basically I want the bulb to always default to “off” when power is restored. I think the answer might be on this screenshot. I tried “custom” but it doesn’t allow “off” as an option. How can I make sure the light doesn’t activate during the night? Without doing something nuclear like removing the wall switch.
