How often to change filters?

I purchased a reverse osmosis system last year and it recommended to replace the filters for stages 1-3 every 6-12 months. Today marks the 12 month mark and I replaced the filters. I have a basic understanding of how the filters work and the 1st one takes the blunt of it and catches the sediment, rust, etc., and the other filters further filter the water.

Based on how dark the first filter is, should I be replacing the filters sooner rather than later? The reverse osmosis system only goes to a drinking faucet next to the sink. Water pressure wasn’t an issue so doesn’t seem like the flow of water was being restricted.

New to me Weber Spirit E-315

My neighbor saw me grilling on my new Weber Kettle after replacing my rusted out non-Weber grill and stated I should have asked him about his grill since he hasn’t touched it in several years and only used it a handful of times. I told him that was nice of him and I’ll keep it in mind if I decide to get another propane grill down the road if he still has it.

Well, long story short, he said he rather see it getting used than collecting dust under his deck. His only request is that he brings over food and I grill for him.

It had a cover on it so it was fairly clean besides some grass clippings, peanut shells from a mouse or squirrel. Wiped it down and inspected everything and got it up and running!

By no means am I going to neglect my new kettle, but now I have a propane for when I need to whip up some food quick. Probably still going to primary grill on the kettle as it’s been an absolute blast!

U-Turn Orbit - Thoughts?

I’ve decided to go with a manual turntable for the simplicity of it and not as many moving parts.

I came across U-Turn Orbit during my journey down the rabbit hole and it seems like a good entry level turntable. I understand there are better options at some of the price points with the upgrades, but curious what everyone’s thoughts are on them.

I reside in the US so if there are any issues, I’ve heard their customer service is decent and they have replacement parts.

First Turntable - Manual vs Automatic

I’m looking to purchase my first turntable as I recently got into collecting vinyls and want to start enjoying them.

I have basic understanding of how to use a turntable so looking for some insight on purchasing my first one. Trying to not spend over $500 if possible, but stuck on whether to get a manual or automatic.

My friend has basic automatic from Sony…I believe…and the start function broke so he has to manually lift the tonearm and place it on the record. This got me thinking about getting a manual as there are less things that could go wrong.

I’ve done a bit of researching and I’m looking at the AT-LP70X-BZ and AT-LPW40WN as possible contenders. Trying to not spend over $300 but willing to spend up to $500.

If you have any suggestions on what you would recommend for my first turntable is greatly appreciated.

Come on…do something

Seeing all of these posts of people halfway across the world and just a few states over from CA getting theirs makes me think my order status has updated.

Maybe if I keep checking, it will do something. 🤪

Got my first Weber Kettle and got the Master-Touch version as it seemed like the go to from what a lot of people suggesting.

Accessories that I got were the rapid fire chimney starter, SNS Slow ‘N Sear and Drip Tray.

Started off going well, fill the chimney halfway (from what I could gauge) and got it going, after they all turned gray I dumped them into the SNS. Placed the grate on top and then let the grill warm up more.

I placed the frozen bubba burgers on the grill directly over the coals…this is when I realized I added too many coals as they were basically next to the grate and 2 of the burgers burnt within a few minutes. Luckily I was able to notice that before the other burgers burnt. Finished off grilling a rotated the burgers a bit to get them up to temp.

For my first time grilling with charcoal, I am not disappointed but more enlightened by how to cook better next time.

Besides, the burnt burgers tasted better than the burnt burgers I’ve made on a gas grill over the years. Haha

If you have any suggestions on how to cook frozen burgers better, I’m all ears. Going to try freshly made patties next time.
