How would you change the Dancestors?

How would you change the Dancestors?

Honestly, to me they were a great wasted potential in the story, serving only as pointless padding in Act 6, and I feel it would be a shame to remove them from the story completely.

I finally finished Homestuck for the first time.

After six months of reading, I finally finished this comic, and it's become one of my favorite stories despite its ups and downs, especially in Act 6. While I didn't find it entirely bad, it did have MANY problems and an odd pacing. I still managed to appreciate the good parts as if they compensated for the bad ones.

Regarding the ending itself, I confess it was better than I'd been told. Of course, I think some characters deserved a more satisfying conclusion, but overall I found the ending okay, even though I wanted it to be much better. After all, it's something I love and invested my time in.

I'll probably read the epilogues, and if what's there interests me, I'll definitely read HSBC. For now, I'll read some fan adventures I've been putting off until I finish the comic.

I loved the Dream Bubbles!

About three months ago I made a post here saying that I really liked the quadrants. Now that I'm in Act 6 and I've learned more about the Dream Bubbles and... I absolutely loved the whole concept.

For me, the simple idea of it being an afterlife is interesting, but imagining that characters from different timelines can interact made it much more fun, especially imagining the conversations that can come out of it. I won't lie, imagining these conversations got my brain working creatively and it was really cool to talk about it with my friends.

Reading Homestuck for the first time has been a great experience that I haven't had in a long time, and I'm loving it.

Help in choosing the protagonist

I'm thinking of writing a Kanto journey fanfic based on Pokémon Yellow, and I'm torn between using Red or Blue (or Green) as the protagonist. I like both options equally, Red for its iconic status and Blue because I want a female protagonist.

I'd like to know what you think of each option, and to be clear, if one is chosen, the other will not exist.

Some fantrolls I made using Xamag's Troll Maker

The first one is called Estaar Cometh and the third one is called Margol Esqule. Unfortunately, I haven't thought of a good name for the second one yet 😭

What would I change inTDAC

Before I begin, I want to say that first, I'm using a translator to write this since English isn't my first language and I don't fully master it. Second, I don't know how much of what I'm going to say here is popular or unpopular; I don't usually participate in discussions about TV series online since it tends to be quite toxic on both sides, and I don't want any trouble. I'm not a professional screenwriter or anything like that, I'm just sharing my ideas here.

I want to start by saying that I love Digital Circus and I think the show had a great ending despite its flaws. I had some unmet expectations and was pleasantly surprised while watching, and overall I'm satisfied, even though I certainly wish it had been better. I understand that this was GW's first show and is subject to flaws, so I think one of the main problems is the lack of more writers. Having only Goose writing definitely didn't do her or the show as a whole any good.

At first I thought each episode of the show would focus on Pomni's relationship with some character from the cast. That was the case in episode 2 with Gummigoo, in episode 3 with Kinger, in episode 4 with Gangle (even though it was brief), and in episode 5 with Jax. Unfortunately, the story didn't follow that path, and we didn't get a "Ragatha episode" or a "Zooble episode," which could have been good for those characters.

The number of episodes is also a problem; for me, the show should have at least 12 episodes, where episodes 3-7 would develop the characters during some adventure, and episodes 8-11 could develop the C&A and Caine plot (I would also keep the "Abel" plot. I personally think it's cool). I would also make it clear during the show that Jax and Pomni are the actual protagonists, which, as we have it, seems like just information thrown in to justify the absurd amount of screen time Jax gets (Jax is my favorite character, but I'd like to see more of the others too :( ).

Speaking specifically about the film, it certainly needs a longer runtime, at least an hour and a half and at most two. It would be great if the first half of the film showed us how the characters are feeling about being just copies of real people. I don't think Jax needs to be so present in the first half, which could make his abrupt abstraction better once the second half begins. Regarding the second half itself, I don't see a problem in keeping what we had in the original movie. I really like her and what was shown in the part where Pomni is in Jax's mind.

That's basically what I wanted to say, I apologize for any mistakes or confusion. I really like this show even though it's not perfect, and I wanted to share the changes I would make. Digital Circus is still a solid 8.5/10 for me, and I hope I don't get a negative reaction here for it.

So... what's with the epilogues and Beyond Canon?

I'm a new Homestuck fan who's far from even finishing the comic (I'm on Act 5, Act 2), and I recently overheard a conversation between some friends where one side argued that the sequels are really bad and not canon, therefore I shouldn't waste my time reading them, while the other side argued that HSBC was really good, that the story was going in an interesting direction, and that some of the characters' actions are part of their development over the years within the story.

I know I'm far from finishing the comic and that I probably shouldn't be thinking about this now, but I want to know what other people think about it and whether or not it's really worth reading the epilogues and Beyond Canon.

I just read about the quadrants and all I can say is that I loved them and I can confidently say they're the best form of romance I've seen in any media. I've always enjoyed romance, ships, fanfiction, and exploring different pairings, so reading about the quadrants in the comic was a great and pleasant surprise for me, and now because of that I'm going to spend some time classifying each ship I like using the Homestuck quadrants XD
