How responsive are reps?

Don’t know if I’m being unrealistic, but I’ve been trying to get in touch with my rep for a week and a half now to figure out how to update my payment info to renew season tickets.

Should I be more proactive in building relationships with my rep to get quicker responses? I’ve only reached out once to confirm details for a shootaround event :/.

I haven’t been bombarding them either, and I’ve sent maybe 2-3 emails trying to follow up.

I had a great experience in the process of being a STH but the renewal process has not been ideal 😩.

Paying for 2027 season tickets on Valkyries TM WebPortal?

Sorry if this is a really dumb question, but is it fine to pay for my 2027 season tickets and playoff tickets from the Ticketmaster Valks website rather than the renewal link sent to emails?

I want to change my credit card details to get the gift but the website link they sent over email doesn’t let me do that, and only lets me check a box saying that a rep will reach out to me to confirm details.

My rep hasn’t been super responsive to me 😩. Thanks y’all

I’m willing to pay full costs for shared fence but neighbor is citing fence laws over design.

Location: NorCal, CA.

I was in the middle of demoing my yard (all permits and above board) when neighbor told me they were concerned fence would not hold the work being done.

I decided to assume full costs of the fence, as per CA civil code I needed to send them a 30-day notice and determine reasonable costs if we were to cost share.

Neighbor is now unhappy with the design, wants a more EXPENSIVE design. I told them I would split the existing scope but not extra design costs. They told me to “read up on CA fence laws”.

The prior fence was a horizontal fence that was 10+ years old. The proposed fence is vertical, made with better and new materials (red wood panels, pressure treated posts and beams).

Questions I have:

  1. what legal repercussions are there if I just move forward with the design as is and pay for everything
  2. do I really have to fork out $$$ for aesthetic preferences? They’re upset we’re doing vertical panels instead of horizontal, as the forme

r makes our retaining wall visible

I am paying for the retaining wall myself, neighbor has lower slopes and it appears paved and perfectly level. Retaining wall is also going to be improved (adding drainage as existing wall had none).

Does the CA civil code indicate that replacement fence must be exactly like-for-like?

Shared Fence Etiquette when we are paying?

Hi guys, trying to do some reflection and see where we can handle this better.

We notified our neighbors that we were undergoing some backyard construction (new pavers, removing mulch, removing concrete slab) a day before it started.

A week after construction started, our neighbors shared that they were concerned with the existing fence as it was bulging on their side. It looked fine on our side but we agreed we’ll talk to contractors. They said they did not care about this fence and their biggest concern was our land sliding into their yard with the rain, or fence toppling. I took this as something they wanted to fix sooner rather than later.

Contractors agreed fence and existing retaining wall supporting the fence needed to be replaced. We told neighbors, told them we’ll build it and sent photos. They basically said great ok let’s connect if anything needs to be connected on; we said we’re set on our side, but can swing by to chat at an agreed upon time. Contractors started demoing.

I swing by, they’re not there and I tell them I’m only home late tomorrow night but I am available on text or call if any concerns. I tell my contractors to pause work on that side until we can sort it out.

The next morning they tell us they want to meet (implied in person) before new material goes in. We meet, they’re concerned over who’s paying (we could’ve been clearer), we tell them we’re paying for everything. They had logistics concerns, but I triple checked with contractors again (fence going in the exact same place, same redwood and pressure treated material, improved drainage, same dimensions, etc) and addressed their concerns.

A part of me understands this moved really quickly, but we already had original work scoped out (new plants, pavers, removal of concrete / mulch, pathways) and leaving this outstanding would’ve caused a headache down the road, especially if fence failed.

I don’t think either of us have had a survey done or know definitively where this fence is. In hindsight, I wish I had a surveyor come right when we closed on this house.

Paying ourselves for shared fence. Are we in the wrong?

We’re new homeowners and want to reflect on how this was handled.

We decided to redo our backyard and we proactively texted our neighborhood group to let folks know. It’s pretty expansive work and we were one week into it when our neighbors expressed concerns over the state of the fence. They said they wanted something sturdier and the fence was well past its useful life.

Our contractor took a look, determined it was bulging on their side (it looked fine initially on our side, we have higher slope) and advised we get the retaining wall and fence replaced.

I text neighbors, told them we’re building it and sent pictures for them and asked them to let me know if any concerns. They didn’t mention anything beyond asking us to touch base. I offered to go see them at an agreed upon time and they ghosted but apologized. Workers continued the work because they had to keep moving as the wall/fence was holding up the rest of the process.

I repeatedly ask them to please call or text us as we’re not at home and working most days. They go radio silent and next day we receive an ask to discuss it in person and to pause work on that side of the yard.

I told workers to temporarily pause and told neighbors we would see them that day. I then get a notification from the foreman that neighbors had gone over to them and asked them to completely stop all work.

We finally meet up and explain that we are paying for this entirely, address all of their questions on materials (redwood, pressure tested beams/posts, etc) and show them videos our contractors sent us of how rotted the old retaining wall us and how there was no drainage.

They then ask if they can chime in on the final design that I sent them yesterday and I about lost it.

I definitely should’ve been more clear and explicit that we were paying for this in full ourselves but I don’t know. Just feeling exhausted

Will they be offering Hello Kitty plushies at both entrances?

Maybe a silly question (sorry!) but I’m assuming gifts are given out on both the East and West entrances at Chase?

Planning to come ~1.5 hours early for hello kitty night because I’m expecting folks to be just as eager for the plushies 😅

Suggestions for visiting parents!

Hi all!

My parents are visiting for the next few months and I’m trying to find unique local stuff to do.

One of my parents isn’t big on hiking so that crosses out a lot of the gorgeous hikes I’ve been enjoying. I’m looking for some of the following:-

- FIFA watch parties at fun bars or breweries
- Live music or performances or comedy shows? Is Oakland Comedy legit?
- Best birria tacos!

Contra Costa Dancewear / SF Dancegear Pointe Shoe Fitting?

Has anyone been fitted at Contra Costa Dancewear after they were acquired by SF Dancegear? Are the fitters any good?

I was fitted at SF Dancegear but looking to get refit as I don’t think these shoes the best for me. I live out in the east bay and was wondering if CCD is better now that they’ve been acquired.

There’s an older post from a few years ago, but I’m curious if anyone has feedback on Kathy’s pointe and Ballet 1/2/3 and turn/pirouette classes?

I’m ~a month into taking pointe classes elsewhere and very much still a beginner (both hands on barre, etc) and was curious if her class is beginner friendly.

I’ve taken beginner (non-intro) classes (BBT) elsewhere for ~4 months as a returning dancer from a long break.

Would her regular classes be appropriate for me? Also curious about her classes for turns - I struggle doing consistent clean single turns and was curious if her priorities classes are beg friendly, or do everyone there is working on doubles/triples etc.

Hi y’all!

I was approved to go en pointe a month ago, have been doing 1x (sometimes 2x) pointe classes, which is usually just 30 minutes of barre a week at a normal technical class, and then I do center on flats. I take regular class on flats 3x-4x a week.

Should I be increasing this to 2x minimum? Will rolling up/down at home help? I’ve been reading online and some say that 1x a week isn’t sufficient to build up the necessary strength.

I made a post a month ago on some pretty bad big toe pain I had in my first pair of Nickolay Tamara’s: https://www.reddit.com/r/BALLET/s/ChWV0gwn7E

I was able to bear through (and modify) my old shoes and lasted a month before I decided it was time to try (again). I’m grateful for all the helpful advice and have some… worries on what I’ve been fitted in.

I went to a different fitter that offered 1 hour fittings. We tried on dozens of shoes before I was ultimately fitted in the Suffolk Stratfords. Three issues I’m currently going through:

  1. I am having major pain in the wings of suffolks, I relayed this to the fitter and she reassured me this was common and would break in. I’m not blistering but the skin is definitely getting red and irritated.
  2. Unfortunately I think this pain might have been masking other pain, and as I continued to wear them at home I realized I was still having big toe pain, although it’s noticeably less painful than my prior shoes. The pain noticeably reduces when I use the same fixes for my prior shoes (lamb’s wool on right foot, gel cap on left)
  3. Another concern I have is that I look like I’m knuckling in these shoes (?!?!).

I’m genuinely almost in crisis at possibly having spent more money again for shoes that might not be great.

I’ve known this friend’s dog for over six years, basically since mine was a puppy. They formed a big connection and played so well together, even as they grew up. We had so many play dates, hikes, hang-outs….

This dog passed away extremely suddenly and I’m so gutted. I’ve basically spent the day intermittently crying and almost feel guilty…like I’m being overly dramatic because this isnt my dog. I’m so sad because I just assumed we’d have many more years of play dates left.
