Not sure if it’s placebo, but 120 seems to be working for me (day 2 of it)

I was on 80 for about 8 months and it was the only thing that seemed to work for me. I just went up to 120 the other day for ocd/anxiety/some depression and I can feel a fog over my life lifting.

What is everyone eating for their 350 calories? I'm looking for some healthy and easy ideas.

Hi my Latudanite friends!

I'm looking for something that's right at 350, or slightly over. Easy to eat. Relatively healthy, or at least not horrible for you with a ton of sugar. Relatively tasty.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Edit: I should mention because of work I typically eat dinner at 5 pm and I can’t take the med then because it makes me tired after an hour or two, so i take it at 10 pm. This makes dinner not an option for me.

Good beginner salsa class recommendations 💃

Ideally uptown/mid city! But open to other locations if there’s a super legit, beginner-friendly one elsewhere.

Good book for someone who cares way too much what others think of him and has a hard time letting it go.

I’m embarrassed I do this and hoping to find something that helps. Thanks

How far out are y’all’s schedules made?

We have stuff already scheduled as far as August 16.

It makes it hard to plan days off with things being scheduled almost a month out.

Is this normal?

Thanks

Telling the difference between cucumbers?

Anyone got any tips. Specifically the hothouse and I think Texas — although maybe English.

The two that look nearly identical.

Multiple times I’ve had them without a sticker and the customer doesn’t know which type they are.

Anyone got any tips?

The concept of no free will feels like it’s too big for my brain to handle

I start getting paranoid. I start thinking I’m the only conscious agent, or god, who created this reality. I have enough distance to know that I don’t know if this is actually true and maybe I can’t and also that this too is an experience is consciousness (which maybe is what I need to fall back on), but I’m in the middle of it and it’s hella scary. Not on any drugs rn just at work. Started feeling free like anything I do I couldn’t have done otherwise and I still think that’s probably true but then I started thinking all of these crazy thoughts about reality. Idk if it’s just anxiety or what. Anyways writing this helped. Open to advice. Thanks.

When and where is volleyball on Saturdays?

Hey, I’ve heard there is volleyball in bayou St. John area and possibly city park Saturday AMs.

I went driving around and couldn’t find anything; I did see a bet by canal and banks. Is this where it happens?

I also checked the mid-city volleyball group on FB, but the last post is from 2023.

Can anyone help me figure out if this is still happening and when and where?

Thanks!

Fun nighttime things to do Uptown/Carrollton solo?

Hey, I’m a 33-year-old guy looking to get out more and meet people. I don’t have many friends in the city yet, so I’m trying to find some good places to go solo in the Uptown/Carrollton area.

I’m into live music, neighborhood bars, trivia, and anything else that’s social and easy to check out alone. I’d also love to meet new people and potentially date, but mostly I’m looking for fun ways to get out of the house and be around others.

Any favorite spots, events, or regular weekly activities you’d recommend?

Thanks!

Q: I’m an early bird and don’t like closing shifts bc I struggle to find things to do. Anyone else relate? Find any good solutions?

I’m aware of the obvious stuff like hobbies, entertainment, fitness, etc.

Idk I just feel lonely and bored and most people I know are working so I don’t have people to talk to.

Thanks

What’s a good book for someone who’s looking for perfection in others, especially a partner. I want to stop looking for perfection.

I hate that a part of me expects others to be perfect. I guess I prob expect myself to be perfect too.

I know the obvious one is “The Gifts of Imperfection” which might be what I read again but seeing if anyone has any other suggies. Thanks!

Anyone have any luck reaching out to HR/anyone else about an extension/exception for the medical coverage hour requirement?

Best case scenario looks like imma be short somewhere between 24-40 hours.

I got sick multiple times (already use AR to cover these days) and my store opening was delayed so had many weeks where I was only offered 30 hours instead of 40.

Already asked a mate about it and sounds like it might not be possible, but want to ask here if anyone has had any luck working around an issue like this?

Thanks

Does anyone else get existential panic from nondual teachings?

Lately I’ve been getting really overwhelmed by questions about the nature of reality and consciousness, especially after meditation and a past mushroom trip.

When Sam Harris talks about there only being experience, or the self being an illusion, part of me understands what he means intellectually. But emotionally it sometimes makes me panic. I start wondering: if the self isn’t real, then what am I? Are we all just one consciousness experiencing itself? Is there some kind of collective awareness underneath individuality?

And honestly, instead of feeling peaceful, those ideas sometimes make me feel almost… violated? Like my individuality and separateness are dissolving into something bigger that I didn’t consent to. People often describe “being one with everything” as beautiful, but sometimes it feels terrifying to me — like I’m just a drop in an ocean with no real boundaries.

I’m curious if anyone else in this community has experienced this side of nondual teachings or existential questioning. How do you engage with these ideas without spiraling into fear or derealization?

What’s a book that can help me become less self conscious?

I constantly care what others think about me. I realize they’re most likely not and I want to learn how to better stop. Any suggestions?
