What's this chocolate?

What's this chocolate?

Picture for reference! This is not the exact chocolate, but to emphasize the shape to try and help.

I used to work at walmart 10 years ago, Canada, and used to grab these little single item purchase chocolate pyramids as a snack in the british international aisle. They seemed to have a white filling (it was assumed by me at the time to be marshmallow fluff) with an almond or some type of nut in the top of the pyramid

Ive searched here and there over the years but never really anything more than seeing if it was for sale, or searching on Google but that mostly turned up the result above.

Returning/new RAD players: Have you tried Epic Desert yet?

If so: what did you think?

If not: how come, and would you be interested in learning?

#1 Epic glazer here, now that a lot of the dust has settled with pantheon, MOT, and exciting things being thrown at us. Wanting to check in on the returning or newer players to the raids scene, and their opinions on Epic.

I personally felt it got a bad rep, being released during arguably the worst possible time, and a lot of big names backing out of contest due to how regular desert contest had been handled. This, ontop of the -20 delta it had baked in just made it a *very* unapproachable and under appreciated raid (imo).

But now the -20 is gone, the sandbox is better, and the opportunity is here!

I will say, if you havent touched it and haven't been spoiled on how the end of the raid plays out, I can understand not wanting to hop in initially. With certainty though, I have to mention8/10 people I bring through this raid have the "holy shit" type of reactions from seeing oryx in D1 campaign when just *approaching* the final boss; let alone seeing the unique mechanic play out for the first time.

Hunters never beating the sharing the brain cell allegations

Never the biggest fan of crucible, but moments like this are why I would occasionally still pop in. No other game have been able to give me the "wtf" moments this game has

Raiding will always be my favorite part of this franchise

Ive been seeing a ton of "any raid groups out there?" posts and wanted to share our group weve been growing.

We host raids all the time, usually a mix of NA / EU times. Epic sherpas, regular raids, dungeons, and even GMs.

Openly encourage all users to create their own events for raids and strive to harbor an all is welcome atmosphere. From returning Vet looking to learn the raids they missed, to the Blueberry Guardian201888 who just found sweet business.

We just want a place to raid, and enjoy what time we may have left in this conclusion to a decades long journey of long nights, laughter, frustration, and excitement together. We may not get another Destiny title, but we can make our own fate until the light fades away.

Masterwork Bug is old masterworks, so reduced stats.

Haven't seen this posted yet i dont think, but saw people crying its getting patched only because it benefits the player, yet other than being funny it barely benefits you and is an overall net negative

We are certainly trying, guardian

Really nice to see all the support surrounding the continuation of the franchise. Even if this means nothing, still makes me happy to see

Going over lesson plans for the next Epic Sherpa

As june draws ever closer, I keep seeing more guardians returning to the raiding scene or even new players entering for the first time. Very excited to keep up the experience of teaching these Raiders the epic raid and keep some positivity / patience in the community.

All of the learners have been exceptional at getting through, and supporting each other while in here. As bad as a reputation as the raid gets due to the time it launched, it is a great way to learn how patience in raiding is extremely important.

Huge thanks to everyone who's reached out wanting to learn, very proud of everyone whos jumped in. Recently I had a team of 5 people who hadnt done regular Desert come through Epic and we had a blast! Cheers guardians

Checking my to do list until june

I am addicted to teaching Epic Desert. This raid has to be the biggest case of best activity released at the worst time.

Shout out to those still willing to learn, you guys are amazing and I have a blast teaching, doing puzzles, and helping with atemporal. Here's to more runs!

If june is a heads down buckle up approach, what changes would make it feel justified?

Lately teaching Epic Desert I've been running into a lot of returning players looking to get back into raiding, and seeing how things are. It is a bit refreshing talking to these players instead of the usual reddit comments of:

U/Destiny2sux

*top 1% commentor*

"D1 vet here, i stopped playing after forsaken, cayde dying was so bad I uninstalled and never looked back, games been dead"

Some of the more positive talk I hear is the idea that June's update was heavily pressured to be a fix update hence the delay and renaming.

Games do this all the time, like R6 operation health, Overwatch 2 going to Overwatch, CDPR and cyberpunk, etc. and *usually* these updates are packed with improvements, adjustments, and overall QOL changes that have been on the burner for a while.

So lets say this June update was delayed as a result of ash and irons feedback, and renegades not having the desired impact. This causes an internal, work hard and give minimal information until we *know* what is able to be done correctly and overhauled properly.

What would make you go "alright, while I didn't appreciate the approach or how it was handled, this makes sense."

So far most conversations have landed on a few common points.

  1. Into the light level of care put into it

  2. Weapon / ability sandbox overhaul (primary buff, mint auger taken off the mantle etc)

  3. Effective removal of tiers, letting all weapons be upgradeable to the T5 "standard" of upgraded origin trait etc. with materials earned from different areas of the game. Armor same type of thing, every upgrade increases the total levels of the currently rolled stats on the armor piece up to T5 standards.

  4. Community aspects given some love (clans / FTF)

  5. Roadmap detailing upcoming QOL changes with optional area in game to vote on features we may or may not like as permanent / new features.

There are definitely still people wanting this game to thrive, and holding onto a small bit of optimism that the next few months will at the very least be a path to a recovery.

What type of content / acknowledgement would make this upcoming update feel like the lack of communication actually makes sense?
