There was a beautiful lubber caught in the storm, so I brought him in to chill until the rain stopped.

Big man ate his carrot while he was inside. Don’t worry, he went back outside.

Are there any good easy to take care of invert pets that I can hold?

all I really want is a bug that I can hold. I heard isopods were good easy pets, but I heard you’re not really supposed to hold them.

edit: I think I’m gonna go with blue death feigning beetles thanks guys!

Looking for a good invertebrate or insect species for a good first time invertebrate pet

Hey guys, Ive been thinking about getting a pet insect or some kind of invertebrate but ive never owned one before and im not really sure what would fit me best.

I used to be interested in hissing cockroaches but I live in Florida and the idea of one escaping and possibly surviving or breeding in the house kinda freaks me out. I also dont really want something thats super fast or climbs glass really easily.

Im looking for something thats visible enough to actually watch and enjoy and maybe even handle a little bit. I like bugs that look interesting or kinda weird but not something thats gonna disappear underground all day and never come out.

Right now ive looked at stuff like beetles millipedes and jumping spiders but im open to other ideas too. What do you guys think would be a good first invert pet for me.
