NOTE: This is just my opinion about the old episode, and while it is very dark, it shouldn’t be taken too too seriously because this is still just a cartoon.
Okay so, everyone knows Blue Cat Blues is the darkest Tom and Jerry episode because it ends with them waiting on the train tracks. At the start of episode, Jerry watches Tom as he is waiting for a train to end his misery, and saying that, "Tom will be happy this way."
But think about the 1949 episode Heavenly Puss, where it is explicitly canonized that Tom is bound for Hell for his sins against Jerry (Even though he was sleeping).
When you combine that with the fact that they are waiting to end their own lives, which will still send them downwards because that’s how offing yourself works, Tom isn't going to find peace or "happiness" at all—he is heading straight for eternal damnation.
Jerry had every opportunity to pull his best friend to safety. Instead, he stands there, justifies the death as "mercy," and then sits down to join him. I’m sorry, but despite him desperately trying to stop Tom from causing more harm to himself throughout the flashbacks of the episode, because of these facts I’d have to say Jerry is the Main Antagonist of this episode.
I know it’s not much, but it’s Brooklyn so…you gotta love it
Music used: Sonic Hysteria - Quartz Quadrant Present (Outside)
finished in 11 hours today btw
I know it’s not much, but after the 2 months of working, I thought I could at least showcase his gameplay because I haven’t done much of that.
Should be proud of myself for making this far with the Kingston mod. Like I’m so committed to this I just can’t stop.
Kingston's Back Air (Pecky Dreads), hover, and Down Tilt (Sliding).
Started this yesterday and finished today
The first is the main victory theme, while the second meant specifically for the Yoshi alt.
So production on Kingston has been going well (Like I'm a bit of a workaholic, and try to draw a new sprite or animation for him in this game almost every weekday). Right now he's got his Jab, Ftilt, Uptilt, Nair, and Upair done.
The gameplan for Kingston is for him to be a mix of a rushdown and puppeteer fighter, being able to dish out fast mid range attacks and being able to pull out his little pet tardigrade, Wallace the Waterbear, for assistance at the expense of his kit having some cooldowns. While I won't go into everything this tall nonchalant character has to offer, I will say he has some similarities and inspiration from the other human characters in ROA (Saya, Bar, and Pastelle for example), Bugs Bunny and T&J from Multiversus, and Pyra/Mythra from SSBU
Kingston nair (Helicopter punch) is complete! The move works similar and is inspired by the same move done by Bugs Bunny from Multiversus.
Also can't believe it's been a whole month since Jacob came out...my god
