[Tissot PRX] Love this thing!

First day in retail management, first day putting the PRX to work. Figured the red dial was pretty fitting for Target. Really liking how it wears with the work fit. Quartz made more sense for me, beater watch that I can put in the case for the weekend or vacation and pick back up and run out the door; and it’s also $300 lol. I will say I prefer the Quartz dial with less wording.

Help with Invicta Pro Diver 8932OB

It’s a groomsman’s gift a few years back and I’m just getting into watches now, it got dropped and the 12 and 6 o clock Indecies fell off, I was able to take it apart and get them out but I’m curious about a dial change, has anyone done this and how hard is it/what tools are needed. Also looking for recommendations for either a bracelet change that isn’t as loud, this thing moves a little and makes all sorts of sounds, I tried nato strap and it was alright. Thanks!

Casioak size comparisons

Regular Casio 2100 felt too large so here’s a side by side with the GMA 2100p, it feels a bit lighter and sits on my wrist much more comfortably.

Is Retail Management Transferrable?

I’m 22 and just graduated college early with a bachelor’s in management. I recently accepted an Executive Team Leader (ETL) role with Target’s management development program. The starting salary is $74,000 plus a target bonus, I’m in southwest Florida with extremely low expenses like sub $1000 and my girlfriend soon to be fiance is 20 making eight around 80-90k with also right around 1k expenses. I’ll be leading a large team in store operations.
I’m genuinely excited about it. I enjoyed my internship, like leading people, solving problems, coaching employees, and making operational improvements. Right now, I can see myself staying for a while.

That said, I’m also trying to think long term. One thing I keep hearing is that “retail management pigeonholes you,” while others say management is management and good leaders can move into almost any industry.
For those of you who’ve made career transitions—or hired managers—how transferable is this experience really?
If I spend 3-5 years in a role like this, would employers in other industries (operations, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, corporate management, etc.) generally value that leadership experience? Or is it difficult to break out of retail even with strong results?

I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually made the jump or have been on the hiring side. I’m less concerned about salary progression within Target and more interested in whether this is building a broadly valuable leadership foundation.

[Tissot PRX] Career Milestone, New Watch

Picked up my first Tissot PRX to celebrate accepting my first full-time job after graduating, I’ll also be a converted intern into my first assignment in management. I’ll be starting in retail management at Target, and figured this was a good way to mark the milestone. Excited to finally join the PRX club. What do you all think, and how has yours held up over time? I went with red dial 40mm, seems to be a good option.

Help with transitioning

TLDR nursing night shift and retail worries

I’m M21 she’s F20

My girlfriend and I are going through a pretty massive life transition and I’m wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar. We went from living together in college and seeing each other constantly to now having almost completely opposite schedules. I’m starting a Target ETL internship with a ~50 minute commute each way and rotating shifts (some starting at 6am, some ending at midnight), while she’s starting as a new RN working 7pm–7am night shifts about an hour away in Fort Myers. On top of that, she struggles with severe depression and has had issues finding medications that work well (Zoloft and others haven’t helped much), and now she’s also going to be farther from her parents/support system. We recently got a cat which has helped mood a lot, but I’m honestly worried about how hard the adjustment is going to be for both of us with the exhaustion, lack of overlapping time, and just going from “college couple always together” to “working adult schedules.” We’ve been together since HS, going on 6 years now. I wanna get engaged once I get an offer in August hopefully for a full time position. I’m very transparent, she knows that plan I have. We’ll be making around 150 before any overtime combined, we both have paid off school and cars so our debt-income ratio is very strong. We have either no rent or $600 a month which is laughable and are planning on saving for a house. Her first year in the work horse in nursing she’ll get her bachelors then masters as a nurse practitioner, nearly doubling her earning potential, and I plan to get my masters for free through target. So we’re very happy with our 5 year plan. Buttt the schedules ass. Has anyone made this kind of transition successfully, especially with one person working nights and dealing with mental health struggles?

New (To Me) Knife Day

Buddy of mine sold me his old Microtech UTX-85 T/E that needed a bad sharpening for $80 and a Busch apple. Any advice for sharpening it? Seems the tanto blade shape is a bit out of wack. I have a strop and a work pro precision sharp adjust. Thanks!

▲ 5 r/Target

I’m graduating and starting an ETL internship in June. I’m big into edc pocket knives and stuff as a hobby, just curious if anyone has ran into this question. I assume pocket knives are a no go but I assume you need box cutters? I bet that have target issued ones but would personal box cutters be allowed? Probably a stupid question but I’m just asking here cause it’s kind of tabu. Thanks!!
