Part 2 of Sony CCDTR600 not powering on

If you don't know, I blew up my TR600 by rebuilding the NP-98D battery because I wanted test lights. I mixed up the positive and negative terminals and the camera now doesn't turn on. The shop I called wanted $150 just to look at it, and I dont have that kind of expandable income, working ones are also $99. So, I decided to do it myself. So far I've found the service manual and I've started taking it apart. I've gotten it down to where cabinet L and cabinet R have been removed, and I also took out the board that connects to the battery. I've checked the 3 fuses in picture 1 and they all aren't shorted out. If anyone can guide me or help me fix this and help me learn how to repair these camcorders that would be much appreciated!!

Panasonic DMC-ZS25, Changed motherboard and sensor, whats the issue??

Hello everyone, this is my first post in this community. I'm having trouble with my DMC ZS25 camera. Recently I bought one with a broken zoom lever on eBay to fix my old one that was broken during a school project. Everything came as described and I decided that it would be easier to replace the lens into my old camera body that had my settings on it instead of replacing the zoom lever plus my old camera body is in better condition than the one I bought. After getting it all together I got these lines. I changed the sensor, the screen, the board for the buttons, and motherboard and it still has this issue. Any idea what might be wrong?? Any help is much appreciated!!

Desperate for a Sony TR600 Battery (NP-98D) before my June trip - DIY rebuild just smoked!

Hi everyone,

I am in a massive bind and desperately need some help. I have a trip coming up in late June, and I really want to bring my vintage Sony TR600 CCD camcorder along.

I tried to rebuild my dead, original Sony NP-98D battery pack by buying 10 new 4/5 A cells to double the capacity and keep the test lights working. Long story short, the rebuild failed, it shorted out/smoked, and the whole thing is completely ruined. I spent $62 on the cells which was all of my extra hobby budget, and I don't get paid again until early July (after I already leave for my trip).

To make things worse, I don't have the original AC power adapter/wall cable either. As of right now, I have a dead camera and a ruined pack with no way of powering the camera on. If anyone has a spare, working Sony NP-98D, NP-78, NP-C65, or any compatible 6V InfoLithium/Sony pack that fits this era of Handycam that they don't need, please DM me! I would be incredibly grateful. I am located in Southern California.

Thank you so much to anyone who can help me save this trip!

Help removing pinch roller on PV-DV52D

Hey everyone!! I need help removing this pinch roller on my Panasonic mini DV camcorder. I really like this camcorder, I picked it up in a lot of 4 for 7 bucks (30 divided by 4) but it has an indented pinch roller. How do I remove it?? I want to remove it and try the boiling water trick to see if I can fix the pinch roller. The camcorder sat for im not sure how long with a tape inside and once I tried recording it looked all fragmented. I then took the tape out and the tape was creased. Any help is much appreciated!! I'd love to get this thing back in working order!!

Post #2 about Panasonic PV-DV52D: Bad Sensor??

Hey guys, as in my last post about this camcorder I got it for 7 bucks untested, cosmetically its in really good condition, but so far ive noticed that the pinch roller has an indentation on it so its been eating tapes. I also noticed tonight that the sensor might have issues. I noticed this red spot and over to the left and up a bit a blue spot (very hard to see in the photo) that show up even when zooming in, I've cleaned the lens twice and the spots get larger when I use digital zoom. Is there any hope for this camcorder? Is it the sensor? If so how should I proceed with this?? Any help is much appreciated!!

Picked up this Panasonic Palmcorder PV-DV52D for $7 bucks, pinch roller has an indent, where can I find a super cheap replacement?

Hey y'all!! I bought a lot of 4 untested camcorders a few days ago and out of the 4 that I have tested they all work besides this one. It turns on and has a good battery in it, but when I ran a tape through it it was eaten. I found a tape already in there when I turned it on so im assuming the rubber on the pinch roller has deformed from being like that for who knows how long. I'd love to get this mini DV fixed but im on a limited income. Where can I find a pinch roller or replacement service that's less than $10, or if that's even possible. I love the slim look of it so I'd like to actually get it working. Any help is appreciated!!

Damaged tape?? PV-DV52D

Hey y'all, I bought a lot of 4 camcorders that were untested the other day, I decided to check the mini DV camcorder first and when I was playing taped there was a lot of artifacting going on so I assumed a dirty head. I decided to record using a new tape and I found this. Is this still a dirty head or something more severe? I looked and it looks like the spindle had already been replaced before? Its not the usual white snd ehite, its a white and black so im assuning the black is the replacement. Any help would be much appreciated!!!

Help with Cannon ZR85 Tapeless Setup

Hi y'all, my ZR85's tape deck broke and in the process of fixing it, more things came out so I decided it would be best to go tapeless. Any suggestions for mini DVR's that have decent quality around $30? Im just looking for something that can record a decent quality at a decent framerate rather than recording to the SD card and getting 14.95 frames per second. Thanks!!

Looking for good miniDV for nighttime shots, budget $25 to $50

I used to use my Cannon ZR85 until a gear broke, I got it out and decided that if im going to spend any money I rather buy a better camcorder. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good affordable nighttime miniDV camcorder? Any help would be appreciated, I have a trip in about 2 weeks that I'd like to get on tape, thanks!

Working on a Canon ZR85 MinIDV camcorder. Rewind works smoothly, but playback/fast-forward make rhythmic clicking noises. I cleaned some of the rubber components and it Improved slightly.

I found what looks like a crack in one of the white plastic loading/transport gears near the visible tape loading area (photo attached). Does this look like the likely cause? Also, are these gears removable/replaceable without completely disassembling the transport mechanism?
