Shame on SGSITS!!

It is honestly disgraceful that a college that proudly calls itself a government-funded premier institute struggles to provide even basic financial support for student projects.

Students are constantly told to build projects, participate in competitions, develop practical skills, innovate, and become industry-ready. But when it actually comes to putting money behind those expectations, suddenly the institution has nothing to offer. Not even a meaningful amount for students who are genuinely trying to build something.

Meanwhile, students from private colleges like LNCT, Acropolis, and Jaypee Guna are getting project funding and institutional support, allowing them to buy components, experiment, fail, rebuild, and gain the hands-on experience that companies actually value.

So what exactly are students supposed to do at SGSITS?

Score a good percentile, get admission into a so-called prestigious government-funded college, spend four years being told to "develop skills," and then somehow develop those skills without the institution investing a single rupee in the process?

This isn't just disappointing. It is fundamentally backwards.

And then the college wonders why placement performance keeps deteriorating year after year.

Companies don't hire students because their college has a prestigious name on the gate. They hire students who can build, debug, design, demonstrate, and solve real engineering problems. If private colleges are giving their students the resources to build those skills while SGSITS keeps students struggling to fund basic projects, then the supposed advantage of studying here becomes increasingly difficult to justify.

A government-funded technical institution should be investing in its students, not merely collecting fees and boasting about its reputation.

If students have to personally finance every project, every competition, every prototype, and every opportunity to gain practical experience, then what exactly is the institution funding?

A campus? Buildings? Administration? A name?

Because if the actual students—the people whose achievements supposedly represent the institute—aren't being supported, then the institution needs to seriously reconsider what it means by student welfare and technical education.

A prestigious name without institutional support is just a name.

And if SGSITS genuinely wants to maintain its reputation, it needs to stop living on the reputation built by previous generations of students and start investing in the students who are supposed to build its future.

⚠️⚠️CSBS Placement Update – IET DAVV Indore 🚀 | 🚨 CSBS Placement Update | Mastercard Now Allows CSBS at IET DAVV 🔥

CSBS Placement Update – IET DAVV Indore 🚀

A lot of comments are coming regarding CSBS placements, so here is the complete explanation.

What happened with Mastercard?

For the 2028 batch, Mastercard conducted an online test in which CSBS students were eligible.

Earlier, up to the 2026 batch, the eligible branches for Mastercard were CSE, IT, and ENTC. However, for the 2027 batch, CSBS became eligible for the placement process.

The college communicated with the company regarding the CSBS branch and its curriculum, after which Mastercard allowed CSBS as an eligible branch. At the same time, ENTC was not included in the eligibility criteria this time.

So, if you chose your branch preference as:

CSE → IT → CSBS

then, according to me, you made a very good decision. 🎉🔥

Mastercard – 2027/2028 Hiring Details

Eligible Branches: CSE / IT / CSBS

CGPA: 7.5+

Role: Internship

Test Date: 01/08/2026

Hiring Process: OA Test → Technical Interview 1 → Technical Interview 2 → HR Interview

Important Areas: Projects, Internships, Certifications, DSA, OOPS, DBMS, OS, CN

Why is CSBS eligible for IT companies?

CSBS includes most of the core CSE subjects and fundamental concepts that companies generally test during technical hiring.

Because of its curriculum and industry-oriented structure, companies can consider CSBS students under the CSE/IT domain for many software and IT roles.

So, CSBS is eligible for all of the same IT/software companies that recruit from CSE and IT. Yes CSBS students can get same opportunities in placement as CSE / IT.

For CSBS Aspirants 🎉

Everyone who trusted my advice and kept CSBS in their MPDTE choice filling based on my recommendation — thank you for trusting me. 🙏🏻🤎

If you chose CSBS based on your branch preference, I believe it was a good decision, especially if your goal is software/IT placements.

Best of luck to all CSBS aspirants! 🎉🔥

And for students whose branch was not eligible for this particular opportunity, don't get demotivated. There will be many more opportunities. Keep working consistently on coding, DSA, development, projects, and internships. 🙏🏻

Your branch eligibility may affect which companies you can apply to, but your skills will still play a major role once you get the opportunity.

IT/ TECH COMPANIES OPPORTUNITY FOR BRANCHES -

CSE/IT - 100%

CSBS - 95%

ENTC - 60%

EEE - 50%

E&I - 40%

FOR NON TECH ROLES - ALL BRANCHES ELIGIBLE.

Important Advice for Juniors 2026-27

Important Advice for Juniors

  1. Maintain a CGPA of 8.0–8.5. At the very least, keep your CGPA above 7.0.

  2. Attend classes regularly, make proper notes, practice questions, and clear your doubts with professors whenever needed.

  3. Don't get misled by seniors who say things like "CGPA is not important" or "You can study just one night before the exam." That is not how it works.

  4. Start preparing for academics at least two weeks before your exams.

  5. Start learning Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) from Day 1. Create accounts on Codeforces, LeetCode, and HackerRank, and practice consistently.

  6. Don't join NSS, NCC, or similar clubs expecting placement benefits. They have little to no relevance for software placements, and those certificates generally don't add much value in technical interviews.

  7. Don't waste your time in clubs like GDG, E-Cell, Rudra, Pratyaksh, Team Spark, Team Hawk, Team Samanvaya, or similar clubs if your primary goal is a tech career. Instead, invest that time in DSA, learning technical skills, internships, and valuable certifications. Don't get influenced just because they promise certificates.

  8. If you are an IET DAVV Indore student, join Career sidhi and career Disha from your second year. Their DSA and AI/ML classes are very beneficial and can help you significantly.

  9. Work as hard in college as you did for JEE.

  10. Stay away from unnecessary distractions such as excessive club activities, parties, smoking, alcohol, and unnecessary BF/GF relationships. These things consume a lot of time, and many students regret it after four years. Opportunities will come later—focus on building your career first.

  11. Participate in hackathons. They are very important for improving your skills and resume.

  12. Don't get influenced by friends who say things like "Hostel life is bad, let's move to a flat." Focus on grinding and making the most of your next four years.

  13. Have a clear goal from Day 1 and work consistently toward it with discipline.

  14. Focus heavily on coding, especially if you are from a technology-related branch.

  15. Start preparing for GATE, CAT and more exams if you are goal is this exams, do everything starts from your first year don't waste it.

  16. For exams related doubts connect with genuine seniors for guidance.

17.CGPA helps you get shortlisted for placements. After that, your skills determine whether you get selected. Give equal importance to both academics (CGPA) and technical skills.

Maintain Discipline bcz in BTech discipline is very important.

Thanks 🙏🏻

Regarding the Classification of B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) at sgsits

Regarding the B.Tech CSE with Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR) Branch

I spoke with the Director Sir and the Head of the AIR program. According to SGSITS, the AIR branch will be offered under the Mechanical Engineering Department. Therefore, as per the institute's current classification, it is being treated as a Mechanical Engineering branch. (BTECH MECHANICAL ENGINEERING WITH ROBOTICS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE)

However, in my opinion, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics should be considered a Computer Science specialization, provided that the curriculum retains all the essential Computer Science core subjects. These include:

Computation Structures (Computer Organization & Architecture)

Structured and Object-Oriented Programming

Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis (DSA & DAA)

Operating Systems

Models of Computation (Theory of Computation)

Database Management Systems

Computer Networks

Software Engineering

Foundations of Artificial Intelligence

Discrete Mathematics and Linear Algebra

Programming Languages (C, C++, Python, Java)

On top of these CS fundamentals, the specialization can include Robotics-focused subjects such as:

Robotics: Kinematics, Dynamics and Motion Control

Machine Learning for Robotics

Robotics Systems and Control

Robot Modelling, Simulation and Programming

Robotic Path Planning and Optimization

Because of its strong Computer Science and AI foundation, I believe this program should be recognized as CSE with Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, rather than being classified solely as a Mechanical Engineering branch.

The same specialization is offered under the Computer Science domain at VIT Chennai.

I request everyone to explain this perspective to the college authorities and consider classifying this program as CSE with Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (AIR).

IET DAVV

Question - WHY eee over e&i in IET DAVV -

Don't see cutoff bcz many yt influencers consider eee is electrical engineering.

⚡ Why EEE is generally preferred over E&I?

EEE is considered a broader branch, while E&I is more specialized.

✅ Why EEE is preferred:

• Wider career opportunities (Power, Electronics, EV, Semiconductor, Automation, Renewable Energy)

• More PSU & Government job opportunities

• Better GATE opportunities (EE has more seats and options)

• Easier to switch into Electronics, Core, IT & Software roles

📌 Top institutes also reflect this preference:

• 🏛️ IITs: Most IITs offer Electrical Engineering (EE/EEE), while Electronics & Instrumentation (E&I) is offered by only a few IITs or not at all. EE is one of the flagship core branches.

• 🏛️ NITs: Almost every top NIT offers EEE/EE, whereas E&I/EIE is available only in selected NITs (such as NIT Rourkela).

• 🏛️ VIT Vellore: In VITEEE counselling, EEE generally closes at a better (more competitive) rank than E&I, indicating higher demand among students.

📊 Cutoff trend:

In most IITs, NITs and private universities, EEE/EE usually has a lower (more competitive) closing rank than E&I/EIE, showing that students generally prefer EEE over E&I. However, there are exceptions at a few institutes where E&I has a particularly strong reputation.

Conclusion:

👉 If you want maximum flexibility and broader career options, choose EEE.

👉 If your interest is specifically in Instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, Process Control, and Industrial Automation, then E&I is an excellent choice.

⚠️ ⚠️ SGSITS 2026–27 Admission: Read Before Choosing Your Branch

If your priority is placements and career opportunities, research carefully before choosing the following branches:

❌ Civil Engineering

❌ Industrial Production (IP)

❌ Biomedical Engineering (BME)

❌ Civil Engineering (Hindi-medium program)

The Civil Engineering program at SGSITS is offered in Hindi medium, so if you prefer studying in English or plan to work in environments where English technical resources are widely used, make sure you understand the implications before taking admission.

⚠️ The college fees are quite high, so evaluate whether the branch offers the opportunities and return on investment you're looking for.

Overall conclusion don't choose this Branches 🙏🏻 - CIVIL, IP, BME, CIVIL HINDI LANGUAGE.

At the ranks where you may get these branches, it's worth comparing other options as well.

In many cases, you can get CSE or IT in good private colleges located in metropolitan cities such as Noida, Bengaluru, or Pune. These cities generally offer a stronger tech ecosystem, more internships, better industry exposure, and wider placement opportunities.

In sgsits only these branches are best -

CSE>IT>AIR (Robotics) > ENTC> E&I > EE> Mechanical engineering
