At what point does God “step in” in terms of free will
For context I was raised Christian then went to a catholic school but in light of growing up and seeing how much suffering, pain and injustice there is in the world I’m getting more and more confused about religion.
Keeping this question refined (as I have a lot) where was God during slavery?
I read that he wept alongside the slaves and let humans exercise their free will, yet there are verses in the bible that contradict this point. The bible refers to God allowing people to keep slaves, an all mighty all loving God would have know that this is wrong. The answer I’ve received is that God lets humans exercise free will but at what point would this stop.
Would God let humans exercise their free will to the point of extinction. If he can’t “step in” because he doesn’t interfere then what purpose or lesson would humans learn from this.
Would the same all loving God send us all to burn in hell?
I don’t understand
