Nextcloud minimum requirements

Hi, I wanted to buy a Raspberry Pi 3B for hosting a small 500GB server, mainly for photos and videos, but I’ve seen many people recommending mini PCs instead of Raspberry Pis. The only problem is that I need something very small so I can hide it easily, and it should be pretty cheap used. Do you think a Raspberry Pi would be fine, or should I invest in a cheap small PC? If so, what would you recommend? Thanks.

Which one should I buy for a first soldering iron? Pinecil V2 vs ALIENTEK T80 vs T80P

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy my first soldering iron and I’m trying to decide between these three options:

  • Pinecil V2 — 44€
  • ALIENTEK T80 — 33€
  • ALIENTEK T80P — 33€

I’m a beginner, but I want something that is actually good for learning and for small electronics repair projects.

From what I’ve read, the Pinecil V2 is the most well-known option, but some people say newer C245-based irons like the ALIENTEK models are better value now.
The T80 and T80P are the same price for me, so I’m mainly trying to understand which one is better for a beginner.

My use case would be:

  • small electronics repair
  • beginner soldering practice
  • maybe some console/controller repairs in the future

I also know that soldering isn’t just the iron itself, so I’d like to know what complete setup you’d recommend buying with it, including things like:

  • solder wire
  • flux
  • tip cleaner
  • stand
  • any other things that are actually necessary to start properly

If you had to choose only one iron at these prices, and the right basic setup to go with it, which would you get and why?

Thanks in advance

Xiaomi 13 with small rear damage and a tiny screen scratch vs Xiaomi 12T Pro in perfect condition — which one should I buy?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to decide between two used phones and would like some honest opinions.

Option 1 is a Xiaomi 13 with a small crack/line on the back glass, plus a tiny scratch on the screen, but everything still works perfectly.
Option 2 is a Xiaomi 12T Pro in perfect condition.

They cost basically the same, and I care more about performance and gaming than resale value. I also don’t mind the cosmetic damage too much if the phone is still worth it.

I’ve also added a link with photos of the damage attached so you can see the condition better.

Which one would you choose and why?
Would the Xiaomi 13 still be the better buy even with the cosmetic damage, or is the 12T Pro safer overall?

Thanks in advance

Xiaomi 12T Pro for 130€ vs 11T Pro for 74€ – which one makes more sense for me?

Hi everyone,
I’m a 16‑year‑old student from Italy and I’m looking for a used phone upgrade on a tight budget. Right now I’m using a Redmi 14C and I mainly care about performance, screen quality and battery life. Camera is not a big priority.

I found two used Xiaomi phones with shipping included:
– Xiaomi 12T Pro for 130€
– Xiaomi 11T Pro for 74€

From what I’ve seen online, the 12T Pro has a much stronger chipset and better display, so it should be more future‑proof for gaming and everyday use. On the other hand, the 11T Pro is almost half the price, which matters a lot for me because I don’t have a big budget and I’m not working yet.

Considering these prices, which one would you pick and why?
Is the jump in performance and longevity from 11T Pro to 12T Pro worth the extra ~56€, or is the 11T Pro already “good enough” for gaming, emulation and general use in 2026?

Thanks

1080p or 1440p monitor for a 3070?

Hi, I recently bought a PC with a:
-Ryzen 5 5600
-RTX 3070 (triple-fan PNY)
-32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
-B550 Phantom Gaming motherboard

Now I just need a monitor, and I can’t decide between a 1080p or 1440p monitor. Nowadays, many games (especially unoptimized AAA titles) are starting to run pretty badly on this kind of hardware.
What do you guys suggest? (Monitor recommendations are welcome too.)

Thanks in advance.

Replacing thermal pads on PNY RTX 3070

Hi,

I'm planning to replace the thermal pads on my PNY GeForce RTX 3070 8GB XLR8 Gaming REVEL EPIC-X RGB Triple Fan Edition (SKU: VCG30708TFXPPB) and I'd like to ask for your recommendations.

My main questions are:

What are the best thermal pad brands for GPU repasting?

What sizes and quantities do I need? (i know i need 1mm thick pads)

Thanks in advance.
