Does anybody still have the “Right click to garrison” setting or where is it now?

I swear I’m not going crazy it was there, before there was a button somewhere in the settings that basically disabled right click garrisoning. It’s so annoying when I click to drop res, but vills instead garrison in the TC.

I searched Reddit and official aoe forums, we definitely had it in the “Options - Game section”. It’s gone now or I am blind and can’t find it. Does anybody know how to “disable” it?

ZXL/China supervision icon QOL suggestion

Devs please add an icon for China and ZXL IO’s that hovers above the building that is being supervised rather than above IO. Or even better somehow visually connect which IO supervising what.

Right now IO is looking towards the building that is being supervised. But sometimes IO looks in a completely different direction from what is being supervised, it’s impossible to tell what is being supervised when it happens. You have to click on one of those buildings until you get a prompt to figure out which one is which.

Especially prominent while going for pro scouting between a stable and a lumber camp, if you switch supervision fast enough they just look in the wrong direction. Or which gets even more confusing when multiple IO’s stand next to each other supervising production and for example you pulled one IO to supervise blacksmith for an upgrade, but once you come back to supervise production you have to guess which building is being supervised. So you click randomly on everything until you get it right also fighting the prompt that X building is already supervised.

If that’s not feasible to implement currently, at least move the icon from IO to the building. Right now the ONLY way to understand what am I supervising is to see where IO is facing, which is a terrible way of structuring UX. The current icon serves only 1 purpose to highlight where is the IO, but gives no indication to what it’s being applied on which is the most important bit. In the mid game where players have to juggle 10000 things, the last thing players want is to spend time trying to see what IO is looking at when vills, units, buildings are stacked closely to each other.

I don’t think it’s unrealistic or unreasonable to have, since we already getting extra icons for clarity like Varangian Warcamp or Jiangnan Tower.

Is connecting good external monitor will resolve ghosting on laptop display?

Hello! I have a gaming laptop (Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 RTX 5050) with an abysmal 144 hz built-in display. The response time is somewhere from 20-45ms that results in severe ghosting and choppy feeling.

If I were to connect good 144 hz monitor with better response time through DP port, will it actually feel way smoother than stock 144 hz built in display? And I mean a big difference, not a slight improvement. Because currently the stock display is close to be unbearable in fast motion. Thank you!

Did someone try to connect external 144 hz gaming monitor to LOQ 15IRX10?

Hey guys! As some who own this laptop know, the display panel response time is really awful. Output results in severe ghosting and screen tearing at 144+ fps in comp titles.

Did anyone try to connect gaming 144 hz monitor to improve your own experience? How does 144 hz external monitor with good GtG compare to built in 144 hz monitor? Does it improve smoothness by a lot or it barely makes a difference?

Where did Sengoku players go?

To preface I am not a Sengoku main and at most have 20 matches with them since release. Decided to play some Sengoku after the nerfs, the nerf is definitely noticeable, but Sengoku is still a very strong civ.

According to the current stats, it’s been played only in 7887 matches across all ranks. For reference Japanese were played in 29k matches, MD at 24k, French 58k matches. Obviously abusers bailed to play MD or GH but the numbers are so low, it feels like it goes beyond the nerf itself or those boosted people falling down the ranks.

Sengoku mains where did you all go?

Well, maybe you should make it cheaper Mr Big Boss Man

Jensen Huang and Faker giving away signed 5090.

Edit: Guys, the hate towards never ending GPU price hikes is justified, just as NVIDIA’s BD. However I feel like I should add context about the original video for full transparency, since a lot of people seem to take it as a direct insult to the lottery winner.

Context: Jensen was making a joke out of their conversation after giving away signed GPU, I highly doubt the conversation was aimed at belittling the lottery winner or an attempt to rage bait everyone there.

Link to the original video to those who’s interested.

QOL: AOE attack command for ranged units / Textiles

You know when you fight with mass units and you want to snipe enemies crossbows or archers, you have to shift click literally every single unit one by one, which often results in overkilling makes it far less effective. Especially when you fight like 30 crossbows killing them 1 by 1 with 30 archers it’s a lot of lost DPS, which makes it not viable in big fights, so you have to fucking swing it and hope they will shoot what needs to be shot, and like 80% of the time they just don’t. A moving with Archers results into archers firing into everything which wastes a lot of DPS into armored units. Which forces players to use mangonels to deal with mass ranged units otherwise you cannot kill shit effectively unless enemies frontline collapses and you just clean them up, but at that point does it really matter? At that point you can already just A move into enemy to clean ranged units.

• What if there would be AOE Attack command with a circle radius, so if you place that circle over the area and the units are present archers will attack units only in that area until given a new command (like mangonel attack ground attack but with aoe, Yeoman already have that circle it’s just an ability) I don’t think it breaks micro balance, it just makes it more comfortable to actually use DPS where it should go, purely QOL nothing crazy.

• I also think it would pretty nice if textiles tech would be moved from TC into Blacksmith without any changes to research time or cost

What do you guys think?

Iron Pepega training time

Current 40s training time (the longest among all knight types) is awful on top of the increased cost for stable and pretty high cost makes it very difficult to mass pepegas in feudal and in castle to make it a viable comp in the current state. It’s difficult to apply pressure in feudal or make them a frontline unit in castle, since they are so expensive and it takes so much time to mass them. Playing Jin Dynasty feels like no matter what you do your army is smaller, slower or weaker, even siege feels worse except NoB.

I get the logic behind it, since they do aoe damage and you deploy them instantly from grasslands the devs probably didn’t want for players to just mass 1 unit, and that’s good.

But at the same time we have mounted samurai breeding ground with Yorishiro in 10-16 seconds, Daimyo 20% train time decrease or instant deployment with level 3 Daimyo, Riddari that have standard train time. Iron Pepegas should also get a standard training time as a buff, if they are not going to change the stats or aoe damage logic, their price should also comedown by 10 gold or food.

What do you guys think?

Edit: Vortix in his new tier list put the whole civ in F tier as the worst civ in the game, because they don’t have a single good unit

How to get a monument?

Me and my friend both finished season in Conq (Solo and Team Ranked), he got the monument but I didn’t. I looked through all monuments in the profile but I can’t find it, it is also not displayed in the notification window.

The rest of the rewards are identical except the monument, I am positive our ranks were registered, does anybody else miss a monument (regardless of rank) or is it just me? :(

  • To preface I myself bought the DLC way before CC preview, just to support the devs for their hard work. And this post is not aimed at discouraging others to avoid purchase.

Regardless, among my friends I’m the only one who actually bought the DLC, all others are not going to buy it due to price - content ratio (1 variant civ, 4 new maps and campaign). Which makes sense in a way.

For 15$:

  • SA brought 2 new civs, 4 new variants, campaign and 10 maps.
  • KoCR had 2 variants (but it had KT which is very appealing for many players), challenges, 10 new maps and historical battles
  • DotE had 4 variants, 8 new maps, 6 biomes and most importantly crucible for SP.
  • YFL has 1 variant, 4 new maps, 2 biomes and campaign

When comparing DLCs YFL is definitely skinny on the content but is priced the same as more beefier DLCs. Which actually got me to think how many of you also locked in dlc regardless of the content in it and whether dlc should have been priced cheaper?

Edit: Wow, I didn’t expect that many people not buying DLC, kinda concerning ngl.

In one of the recent posts about taunts, Relic employee commented that we are getting all taunts unlocked in the next patch, but in the patch notes it is not mentioned.

Will there be extra patch notes on the day of DLC’s release? I’m not talking about balance, more like misc stuff
