They Are Not Just Lizards

First I want to say hi to everyone and this is a long one. I haven’t had a bearded dragon in a very long time, but I rescued Kova, and Ashe. Everyone knows how much we love our little guys. We all know they need us for warmth and to supply food. Great!! I think there’s more to this. They are very smart.

It started with Ashe he pooped and bc he’s a messy boy usually he needs a quick bath. He was wrapped up and dried, now it’s free time for him, then deep cleaned his enclosure. After everything was all said and done. I wrapped him in a burrito and he fell asleep like a wittle baby. I put him to bed and he stayed sleeping. My precious boy. Remember I have 2. So, on to Kova.

Kova is very docile but gives a nasty look like why are you breathing my air, you know your place. So we started to call him King Kova. I took King Kova out to do the same. Wrapped him up the same way, but little guy knows he has my heart. He started to move and I’m thinking he’s trying to get comfy. Ok cool. Nope this little dude walks up my face and puts his nail on my lip. I’m thinking he’s going to the pillow behind me. His scaly body was nestled on my face. He didn’t move he fell asleep that way. God forbid if I move the King. I get a nasty look.

They have us all fooled. They know exactly what they are doing and we are just playing into their hands.

PS: Ashe doesn’t have the blanket on him now

Uuugggghhhh

I’ve been trying to deal with this perimenopause chin acne. I tried doing a K-beauty double cleanse. That was a big mistake. Then changed to a simple Peach and Lilly 3 step acne cleanse. I do this 3x’s a week currently to get my face use to the product. It seemed to help a bit but I feel like it never goes away. It’s so bad that when I put my pimple patches on my face you can literally play dots on it. Why do we go through so many changes? My husband knows not to say anything because he doesn’t know which wife he will get.

Still can’t figure this out

I’ve been trying to figure this out and reaching out to people. My vet said he’s healthy no issue another vet said they are stupid little guys 😡🙄. Showed Kova’s numbers to another person. They also said his numbers looked good. Since I’ve rescued him he’s always had the shakes. It’s only when he’s going to eat food. I cut down the vitamins (I have both with and without D I need to know which one I should be giving them going forward for both my guys) once every other week and now using calcium without D (I also have both w/ & w/o D) I also heard that could be the issue. Having too much calcium. He’s still basking, shedding, and active. Temps are 102-110 (T5 UVB 14% bc it’s over the mesh) he loves the heat lol unlike my other guy; cool side 85-95. Giving greens everyday. Have been dusting roaches 3x’s a week. With Sunday I give them 1 roach with dusted vitamins. Very, very occasionally they get treats. Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.

Not as bad as I thought

I had my surgery today ACDF C456. Had to be there at 6am in NYU Manhattan Langone hospital. I was so terrified bc of the unknown, but on a previous forum. There was a lot of info they gave me and encouragement.

The actual incision doesn’t hurt. It’s the neck, the whole upper back by my shoulders, and arms just feel weak. Don’t try to laugh, cough, and swallow a little bit at a time.

Idk how to sleep bc every side hurts lol. I am glad that it’s over. Hopefully I won’t have the pain I’ve been experiencing everyday and at least this pain is temporary.

Good luck to anyone that is having this surgery. From someone that was having an anxiety attack, and they gave me my medication early lol. I’m not going to sugar coat it. What hurts is the neck muscle and throat. TAKE YOUR MEDS, and take it easy. Get a lot of rest, and use your person to help out. 😘😘

Please Help

I have this little boy named Ashe. I have already come to terms I’m his faithful servant. He slaps me when I don’t listen or if his food isn’t on time. Sometimes he misses as he falls asleep. Other times he whispers in my ear to keep me in line. Last, night he didn’t want to go to bed, and he beat me up.

I rescued this cute little nugget Kova. Whenever he gets scared like going from the lounger to the floor because it seems too high for him. (I have since put a pillow to help him down.) He will start shaking his head. More like trembling. He also does this when he’s about to eat an insect. He’s been doing this since the first day I met him. I took him to the vet and he passed everything with flying colors. I asked about the trembling and they said it could just be that he’s unsure. There’s no sign of MBD either. It’s now a year he’s still doing it. He’s eating, basking, and pooping like normal. He’s still the laid back dragon that I rescued. His enclosure is about 105-110 (he loves the heat) with 2 basking lights and a UVB. Cooler side gets to about 75-85, and he’s in a 4x2x2 enclosure.
