Lowe’s v Best Buy Appliances / Extended Warranty

We’re about to buy a whole suite of appliances for our kitchen and the two best pricing offers for what we want is Lowe’s and Best Buy. We will be getting a five-year extended warranty and I guess the question is between the two here locally who has the better install/extended warranty support? I tried a local dealer but they sell more high end stuff and their quote was literally double so big box is where we are at.

Any help much appreciated!!

Extended warranty on appliance suite

Appliance package extended warranty

We’re looking to buy the 5 yr extended warranty with the purchase of our kitchen appliances. I wanted to ask everyone’s experiences with buying their kitchen appliances with Best Buy and the extended warranty. I know everything does not last anymore and so an extended warranty is a priority for us, but we are debating on whether to buy the appliances from Lowe’s or Best Buy. Is there a service fee? The salesman made it sound like no, but online I see a different story..

Best Buy does have a 60 day return policy, which is nice but I don’t know much about their extended warranty nor Lowe’s. Price point is essentially the same so it’s really about service. Third party vendor vs geek squad who I’ve always seen more as an electronics repair shop… Any info will be super helpful. Thank you.

36” induction cooktop

I’m considering a few 36” induction cooktops..

($749) Frigidaire 5 burners Black Induction Cooktop with Bridge Element (FCCI3627AB)

($1649) Kitchenaid WipeClean 5 burners Stainless steel Smart Compatible Induction Cooktop with Bridge Element (KCIT736SSS)

($1649) GE Profile 5 burners Stainless steel Smart Compatible Induction Cooktop with Bridge Element (PHP9036STSS)

Frigidaire price is insanely good, almost too good but reviews seem average. Kitchenaid / GE reviews do too, I just liked the two bridges on each side and the steel border of kitchen aid and the GE stainless as well..

Bosch didn’t have the additional 25% off sale price so they were a lot more.

One is far cheaper, but will I regret it. I don’t want to have to figure out another top that fits in the same spot of counter in a year. (Extended warranties will be purchased) Also, this wall shared with my bedroom if that matters.

Thanks!

Want a new card for big purchases

Current cards: (list cards, limits, opening date)
• BOA business card , 67k limit(me not husband)
• Chase Sapphire Preferred $47,500 limit, 5 years (chase freedom before)
• Citi Card (husband not me)
• Lowe’s Card (husband’s, not me) since 2014

• FICO Score: 825
• Oldest account age: 8-12 years
• Chase 5/24 status: 0 cards in 2 years
• Income: 234k household
• Average monthly spend and categories:
• dining $1100
• groceries: $1500
• gas: $500
• travel: $100-500
• other: $2000 (school, entertainment, shopping, medical)
• Open to Business Cards: yes, but not for our appliance purchases. Was considering a business card for my business that has travel perks as well. Ideally different than personal so we could hit both sides of lounge access/perks.
• What's the purpose of your next card? Perks! Remodeling kitchen and buying a whole new suite of appliances , cabinets, etc and would like buying protection/extended warranties (or is it better for Lowe’s 5% off? ) Family of 4 looking at lounge access and hotel level up status. Hubs uses Hilton and various airlines for work. We also like Marriott. We do not live in a big city.
• Do you have any cards you've been looking at? AMX platinum, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Venture X. We don’t have AMX so was considering husband gets platinum for personal and I get a Chase Reserve style for business if that’s a thing.. but either way hubs getting the personal card and adding me as authorized user.
• Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? Yes we have chase sapphire and are will continue to use that for everyday or when it makes sense

Debating if I should use new card for everything else and buy these appliances with Lowe’s card (5% back) as we will be purchasing 5 year Lowe’s extended warranty bc everything breaks nowadays. Or if it still makes sense to use new card with the “buyer protections/warranty extension”

We’re remodeling our kitchen and doing a whole new suite of appliances, and I’m just looking for the best version for each style. We’re thinking mid tier, not breaking the bank. As much as we would love the subzero’s in the top-of-the-line everything it’s just not within our budget. We’re looking for something middle of the road. If you have suggestions for the following:

-36 inch induction stove top
-Double wall oven (I do have celiac disease and the rest of the family eats gluten, which means I have to worry about Cross contact so probably not wanting an air fryer one)
-Dishwasher although I’m already leaning Bosch 800 series
-Fridge/Freezer . This could be a full freezer and refrigerator column or two fridges next to each other. We have about up to 74-75 inches wide to work with. I’d prefer to stay under 72, but I might just build it a little bit larger for any future appliances. In fact, we might not even put cabinets on top and just trim for the future.

We have been eyeing the Frigidaire professional columns, but see the mixed reviews or the Fisher and Pickel fridges stacked next to each other with a trim kit.

I’m a bit overwhelmed so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you’re nosey, here’s the 3d model
