Black and grey tattoo artist?

Hello! I am looking to get some black and grey work done on my arm and I will definitely need a consult before getting work done. Part of the work will require a coverup and working around some art that’s already there. Any recommendations on artists in or around cookeville? Thank you in advance, so excited to further disappoint my parents 😂😂😂

Have you ever had to deal with witnessing an adult body shame a child?

My husband and I live in a different state than his adult children. My husband had to work, so I went to visit his kids and grandkids. When we all went shopping together, both of his adult children (F29 and F27) were making fun of the grandson (8) for his body. They’re picking on the size of his booty area and calling him chunky, saying he has padding “back there.”
When his aunt said to his mother “it looks like he has padding back there” he spun around to give her a look and I could tell he didn’t like it. And his mom just laughed and agreed with her. It really bothers me because I could tell it bothered the child being bullied.
I mentioned it to my husband and he basically just brushed it off. I fought back and said that this kid had already been dealt a bad hand and he doesn’t deserve to be bullied by people he’s supposed to trust.
Should I say something to the adult children about how inappropriate their comments were? And how bad the impacts of bullying are? What’s shocking is that both of those girls have been bullied yet they are acting no better as adults. Or should I stay quiet and let them “raise” him the way they see fit?

Advice on face shaving as a woman?

Unfortunately I’m getting to a point in my life where I wonder if shaving my face would be best for my overall appearance. I’m a woman in my 30s. Honestly I have quite a hairy lip and chin. I’m a little nervous about skin care because I don’t want to irritate my skin. I’m quite embarrassed about it and I would hate to draw further attention to the area. I have a little battery razor that is specifically for the face, more looking for advice on care before and/or after the process. TIA

Have you been to a wedding where cheating was involved but they got married anyway?

TLDR: did they stay together even with cheating involved?

I only ask because my adult niece (29) is set to marry a man in the fall and she has confided in me and my husband that he was unfaithful. We reminded her that she has a daughter looking up to her and watching her every move. My niece is going through with it anyway.

She justifies it because he “never touched” the other woman, but the intent was definitely there. Yet she wants us to cheer her on and go to this wedding anyway. So I’m just wondering if anyone has been through something similar and if they lasted.

The final kicker? By the time they get married, they won’t have even known each other for a whole year yet 🙃

Do people really avoid working jobs so they don’t pay child support?

My adult niece (F26) has been dating a single dad (M33) for about 5 years now. They both have sons from previous relationships. I’ll call the boyfriend Jake. I will call my niece Kate.

The whole time I’ve known Jake, he hasn’t worked a normal job. He claims he works these “side gigs” and that’s how they make rent.

I’ve heard of other jobs he’s had in the past that are more traditional and stable, but it’s been years since he’s done that. He scours the internet looking for people who want to hire a handyman and he lowballs the cost so he gets the job. Frankly it’s not enough for the family to get by, they live in pretty intense poverty.
Kate does work a steady PT job, by the way. She only works part time due to her physical limitations. Disability is not enough to get by.

I try to be supportive, so when we chat I ask how Jake’s job hunt is going if the side work is slow. They claim he applies to jobs but “never hears back” and he “tries so hard.” Nothing really adds up when I ask about his job search because I feel like they don’t want to tell me the truth.

Upon talking to my other niece, she informed me that he doesn’t want to work a job because then they will come after him for child support for his oldest. I guess he would be working for basically no money because of how much he owes.

I’m truly just wondering if this is normal behavior for folks in this situation? I worry because it seems like my niece and her son rely on this guy and his logic for not working confuses me

If someone you loved insisted on marrying a cheater, what advice would you give them?

They’re stubborn, head strong and determined to not get embarrassed by canceling the wedding. I guess it’s more embarrassing to cancel a wedding than to marry a cheater.

I care about her, and if she’s going to go through with it, I’d love to make sure she protects her future. She has a young child to think about, yet she really doesn’t think about the kid all that much.

Other than “don’t do it” what advice would you give a fellow girlie to protect herself?

I need to set some financial boundaries with my step kids without ruining their relationship with their dad

TLDR: what’s a nice way to say “if you think you’re grown enough to get married, then you are grown enough to finance yourself?”

So I have 2 adult step kids (29&27) and they each have an elementary aged child. Both of the step kids are set to get married this year and next year.
Somehow over the course of their lives, they think it’s okay to run to their father (my husband, M50s) to bail them out of financial difficulties. He will bail them out of car repossession, eviction, car repair…not cheap stuff.
Their dad is finally thinking of himself and the future we’re building together. With both kids getting married, this feels like an awesome opportunity to have more firm boundaries when it comes to finances. We both agree that “if you think you’re grown enough to get married, you can fill your own gas tank” type of mindset.
He also has this crazy fear that his kids will keep his grandkids away from him if he ever tells them no. This alone makes me so sad because it feels like his kids have programmed him to buy their love. My relationship with the kids has come a very long way these last few years and I really enjoy having a good relationship with them. It’s been really interesting navigating a bond with them as a step parent.
Basically what’s the best way to set the boundary without hurting feelings? I really want to avoid saying “well, go ask your husband” 😂
