What Should I Be Doing? (Teeth & Gums)

I've been an idiot my whole life, never really taking my teeth or gums seriously. I did brush my teeth, but I never flossed in my adolescence. I didn't even know what pockets were or that they led to irreversible bone loss, nor did I know about the effects that poor gum health can have on the rest of the body.

In spite of that, I want try my best to undo the damage done to my gums and teeth as much as I can. I'm looking to critique and advice here. Hopefully it can also help others. I've had two cavities filled about two years ago, and some that may turn into a cavity (but have not yet reached the dentin layer).

As for gum health, I currently have some pockets near my wisdom teeth on both sides (worst was prev 8mm, now reduced to 5mm, but most around 4-5mm). I've started using these things:

After every meal:

  • Water flosser (dislodging food particles)
  • Tongue scraper (reducing bacterial load on tongue)
  • Sugarfree xylitol+flouride gum after each meal for 20 minutes

Every day:

  • Brushing teeth twice daily (before breakfast, before bed)
  • Using floss picks (likely switching to regular silk floss, as it's more effective and less likely to include PFAS)
  • Intermittent fasting & reducing non-mealtime eating

Experimenting/Planning

I'm also trying 0.2% NaF mouthwash, which I purchased but neglected to use consistently. I've also been looking into interdental brushes and an angled brush as support to better clean the wisdom teeth area.

What else should I be doing?

Food Quality Testing

Anyone know some good organizations testing european food & publishing results? I'd want to purchase the best & cleanest items, but I feel like finding data on your local grocery store food items is way harder than it needs to be.

Some examples would be labs testing chocolate for heavy metals, certain products for pesticide residue, or olive oil for polyphenol count.

If anyone could share the best resources for this please lmk & reply below.

What is this weird growth on my thumb? And how do I get rid of it?

I have this weird growth on my thumb near my nailbed, I don't remember when it appeared but it's been a while. I assumed it'd just heal, but it's still there after months. Anyone know what it could be & how to treat it? It's dry, slightly elevated compared to the surrounding tissue, has a scale-like texture, and is noticeably more red than the area around it.

I'm kinda a broke student so going to a dermatologist or doctor isn't ideal if it's not medically necessary. I doubt it's cancer, but I also don't have any clue on what it could be 💀

Will improving my skin barrier by moisturizing it religiously affect it at all? Never really moisturized my hands before.

Discord & Twitter Scrubbers

Anyone know of a good free & local/open source tool that mass deletes your old social media? I follow like 1000 people on twitter & have tons of old tweets that I want gone, and Discord messages take a long as hell time to delete across everything.

I've heard of Redact, but after looking at their plans it seems to only be decent for reddit unless you pony up like $100 for the premium tier.

paid ones are fine if they come with a free trial (or reasonable price at like $10) but i assume redact & similar tools don't offer them because most people only need to use them once

Is it possible to view Privated Twitter/X Profiles?

I have an old account that I privated a few years ago, just wondering if it's best to purge it & delete all followers, posts, etc. Can people bypass the private screen & see your old tweets, also what happens to search results where your replies were indexed by bing & google?

Recently saw a post about most people being deficient in potassium (DRI is 4000mg). It had me wondering, what else is there that the majority of people are deficient in and what is the best way to mitigate that specific deficiency?

I've recently found out an old e-mail of mine was found in a few databreaches. However, I've only found the files on intelx.io which requires a £2500 yearly subscription to view the leaks category. Is anyone familiar with other sites, or does anyone have a subscription to it that they're willing to share? I'd be glad to provide my email or the specific breach. I'd mainly like to know what information is compromised so that I can best mitigate and prepare for it to be used against me.
