Switching to Cymbalta because Wellbutrin caused severe emotional blunting. Should I be worried about it being worse on this drug?

I know everyone's body reacts to things differently, so I get no one can actually give me a true answer here. But has anyone made this switch?

I know a lot of people do the opposite, where they are put on Wellbutrin (as an add-on or switch) when their SSRI/SNRI causes emotional blunting. But I haven't heard many stories of the opposite. I'm starting Cymbalta (generic) tomorrow and am genuinely worried about what I'm getting myself into.

For me, Wellbutrin was like an off switch for all of my emotions and then, as it tapered off, sent me into a spiral of the worst depression and hopelessness I'd ever felt in my life. So obviously not a good idea to stay on it, I'm just worried that if that's my reaction to the med that's supposed to avoid those issues, that I may not be able to find one that actually makes me feel better.

Any experiences, thoughts, anecdotes, etc. would be incredibly appreciated.

Suggestions for one-month stay around Harbor Hill (or just Gig Harbor generally)?

For context, I'm going to be receiving some medical treatment in Gig Harbor that will require me to come in for 4-5 days a week. I figured it would be better to just find a place to stay instead of dealing with long stretches of travel time back and forth each day.

So far I've tried looking on Airbnb and Furnished Finder without much luck. Everything that's listed is either wildly expensive or the owner isn't willing to do a single month (even though the listing page says otherwise).

I know it's probably a shot in the dark, but are there any other places you'd recommend I look? Or is there any sort of local group I could join where people may be offering rooms for rent on short term basis?

Any help would be incredibly appreciated, thank you!

Can someone walk me through the early signs of worsening depression caused by Bupropion?

I'm going through an especially rough time in my life (in fact, the roughest I've experienced emotionally) and am struggling to figure out where the line is between what I'm naturally feeling and what may be concerning side effects of the meds.

Can someone who knows a little bit about the way this drug can worsen depression stop by to help me understand this situation a little better? Any specific signs to look out for?

Full context:

I was originally told to start with one 75 IR each day, which I did for about 2 weeks and felt nothing more than 15-30 minutes of the clouds starting to lift. The manufacturer on that first bottle was Avet.

I then was told to go up to one 75 IR in the morning and one in the afternoon (2-3 PM). With this new recommendation, my refill looked completely different and says the manufacturer is Apotex.

Since the first Apotex pill, I've felt extremely tired after each dose. Like the first day I felt like a dazed zombie. As I was walking through a store I ended up being in front of a lot of people's carts and one person told me to stop daydreaming.

I've now been on the two pill plan for 3 days and have found that when each pill kicks in I have about 1.5-2 hours where my emotions get really dull. The panic related to my current situation goes away, but I feel like I have less access to all of my emotions. For lack of a better description, I feel like I get very analytical and apathetic. Then as it wears off, I get really deeply sad again. I've been journaling a lot and the last two nights my entries have been very much leaning towards feelings of worthlessness, hopelessness, and vanishing self esteem. But again, I don't know if it's just my life situation causing this or the pills.

Bonus question:

Is Apotex known to be a primary culprit for this reaction? Or does it feel substantially different than the other manufacturers to anyone else? If I switch to SR instead then it would be made by Camber but I'm not sure what other brands are being used in my area.

Has anyone else been journaling for hours every day?

If I'm not walking (some days 20k+ steps), I'm journaling. I'm starting to wonder if it's a good or a bad thing though, as I've been consistently going back to my journal almost four times per day.

I'm not 100% sure of the purpose of this post, I think maybe I just want a sanity check?

Sisterhood

I used to capture flowers
In your eyes
Their bright faces reaching up
for the sky

We made worlds
Out of shopping aisles
And dreamed
Of dancing on stage
Scheming up futures
by putting our markers to page

Soon I was gone
And so were you
One perfect unit
Split in two

My flowers lost their color
Plucked from the garden
For a vase

While I watched yours bloom
Across the fields
you filled space

Soon to dust
My petals fell
Tilled into your soil
To keep you well

Beneath the surface
I help your flowers grow
You above
And I below

One whole split in two
The vibrant side was always you

I haven't written any poetry since I was about 11, so feedback is appreciated with the understanding that I'm not writing every day. I was just trying to see if I could still do something that resembles a poem and thought I might as well share.

What's the difference between good and bad Neurofeedback?

I've done some searching in this community as well as Reddit at large and am having a hard time understanding the nuances.

A lot of comments say that it's pretty much pseudoscience, while others say that it's incredibly effective if done right. The issue I'm having is I can't understand what people mean when they say "done right."

For example is there a certain device, credential, specialty, etc. that I should be looking for? Is a qEEG required for it to be done right, or are the people who practice without it helpful if they know what they are doing?

Any red or green flags for what to look for would be greatly appreciated. I think this is a type of therapy that will be helpful for my very specific condition and am just trying to be as thoughtful as possible about who I try working with.

Edit: I just wanted to add that my situation isn't the common anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc. that most people go in for.

Search terms for videographer who won't make us pose?

Hopefully this post is allowed, as I'm not a videographer myself. I am not familiar with the world of videography and was wondering if you could help point me in the right direction?

I am essentially looking for someone who uses the same beautiful filming style and audio quality as what's in cinematic videography (or similar), but who does not take us aside to do tons of different poses. I essentially am looking for someone who can take beautiful shots of the setting, decor details, and general atmosphere of the day in addition to capturing our full ceremony and reception speeches.

I know it's essentially the default right now for 50%+ of the videos to be couples standing in different spots around their venue, looking into the camera, and doing different staged poses as filler. But that's just really not our personality or how we want to spend our time on the wedding day. Instead we'd love to work with someone who still has a great eye for artistry but is able to build a narrative around film taken of the actual events of the day.

I've tried searching for documentary style videographers, but have run into this same hangup in all of the search results. Can you help me figure out what I need to be searching for to find this style of videography?

Videographers that don't make you pose. How do I search for them?

I really want to hire a videographer to capture our vows and the reception speeches, as well as the general feel of the day. But I don't really love what most people offer where you do tons of different poses just for video filler.

I'm not a videographer myself, but it seems like there should be a way to take a video that is beautiful and cinematic while taking a documentarian's approach in filming. I'd love to find someone who still takes beautiful shots of the setting, wedding details, guests walking around/talking with each other, and even us getting ready. But I really don't want us to be pulled away to do extra poses, twirl my dress around, and look into the camera a million different ways.

Does anyone know what I should be searching for? Or does this style of videography just not exist? I've tried searching for documentary style, but they still are like 50% poses.

For context, we have a couple videographers in our area that have a ceremony and speeches package, but it's $2k just for someone to set up a (fairly low quality) camera. For the highest rated one, the sample videos they gave me literally have the noises of someone messing with the camera's settings mid-vows. So I figure if I'm going to spend thousands, I might as well pay more for someone who is going to make something that actually looks and sounds professional.

Anyone have experience with The Curries for photography?

I would love to hear any and all information you have to share about them! Their work seems lovely, but I've seen some comments about issues with consistency?

I think their black and white photos really shine, but am trying to get a sense of how a full gallery feels quality-wise. Especially as someone who is not a fan of photos that are super colorized.

If you've worked with them or know anyone who has, I'd love to hear everything you're open to sharing about the experience!

Also, just in case there are multiple photography teams named The Curries, this is the couple based in London (we're in the US, so we'd have them travel to us).

I kind of hate writing this post, but it's been weighing on me and I'd love to hear other peoples' perspectives.

I've been with my partner for over a decade, but we decided to buy a house before getting married. So even though we've been together since our 20's, we're now in our mid-30's (34/36) and I feel almost embarrassed talking to some vendors. My voice sounds really young, so when I talk to people on the phone they assume that I'm 20 and then seem kind of surprised/disappointed when they see my face. Which kind of sucks because I'm not saying I've ever been stunning, but I definitely used to get comments about being pretty. So I think this is all just making me come to terms with the fact that I've hit the point in my life where people can't see past my age?

This has been weighing on me a lot specifically when it comes to finding a photographer. I've saved up money to hire a really talented one (like $10k - $15k). But when I look at their portfolios and weddings they've been tagged in recently, it's all of these gorgeous, tall, skinny, women in their 20's with flawless skin and features. Like truly everyone looks like they could be a model even though it's normal peoples' weddings. While I'm here in my mid 30's, super short, not toned at all, no filler/lasers, etc.

I'm really struggling because I just don't feel beautiful enough to even request to work with photographers and makeup artists. Like I'm afraid to have the video calls and for them to be uninspired to do their best work because I'm not a worthy model. Not to mention I live in a VHCOL area, so our wedding will be nice but isn't going to look particularly extravagant like a lot of the ones the photographers share when I ask for a full gallery.

Is anyone else feeling this way? If you're in your mid-30's have you been treated any differently by your photographers/vendors? Any tips?

If you have ever, ever worked with (or even seen the website of) a makeup artist who does not turn ultra pale brides orange or yellow, can you please drop their name or link below?

I really want to work with a makeup artist who embraces pale skin instead of trying to cover it up. This is especially true because I am a warm-leaning pale, meaning the typical instinct to go cool-toned on pale skin isn't going to work for me either.

There's a lot of talented makeup artists in my area, but their portfolios and videos all show brides that start pale and end up looking tanned or orange. It's been super frustrating because I live in an area swimming with pale brides, but the final makeup looks rarely reflect that (and the artists here that can do it are already booked up for the whole 2027 peak season).

I am willing to fly a good artist to me, so it doesn't matter where they are in the world. And I really mean that, any country, any state (I'm in the US). The literal only ask is that their pale skinned brides actually look like they're in their natural skin color. If you know or have seen anyone who does this I would love so much if you could share their details!
