Got to see the legendary memes and a childhood classic on the big screen for the very first time. Happy 25th Anniversary!

Have seen Shrek many times at home when I was young, lived through all the memes, yet I never seen it in theater until today.

Happy to be able to revisit this gem on the big screen for the first time. Happy 25th anniversary Shrek!

speaking of memes, some guy in my showing screamed "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY SWAMP" when that moment came up

Saw both Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick for the very first time with this Anniversary. Absolute Thriller

I actually never seen either film. Only learned of this franchise when I came across many appraisals over Maverick back in 2023, unfortunately I was in college and focusing hard, so I had to skip. I did make a promise to myself that I will watch the 2 films one day, tho due to busy life, I slowly forgot about that promise... until I was reminded of it by the news of both films' return to theater for 40th Anniversary.

Took this chance to tap myself into Top Gun for the first time, grabbed tickets for both films on May 13th.

And BOY was it an absolute thriller with many spectacles. When the flights get intense, they get INTENSE. Got me bit emotional too, >!with goose's passing in og and evey scene with Iceman in Maverick (especially knowing the fate of his actor Val Kilmer).!<

Due to my theater's showing arrange, I could only watch them in reverse order, ended up with 1PM for Maverick follow by 4PM for og Top Gun. Still works, for I got to point out every "Ohhh so that's where it came from" when I watch og at last. I can imagine for veterans who saw the og on release, seeing the call backs in Maverick after 30+ years must be amazing and emotional.

Learned of the several passings post watch. Rip, Tony Scott, you made a classic and a banger. And too to mentioned Val Kilmer, as well as Clarence Gilyard Jr. as Sundown in og.
