Are there any current music artists or recent songs that sound like the 90s power ballad artists?

I’ve been trying to find literally any current artists or songs that remind me of the intensity and emotion I get from the power ballads of Whitney, Mariah, and Céline. Ballads like Run To You, I Have Nothing, Greatest Love of All, One Moment In Time, Didn’t We Almost Have It All, When You Believe, Hero, Without You, Love Takes Time, The Power of Love, Because You Loved Me, All By Myself, It’s All Coming Back To Me Now…

Do these type of songs just not get made anymore? I doubt that. There has to be some songs that have the same kind of vibe.

I'm absolutely sick of ice cream shops saying they have "dairy free ice cream options" when they just mean sorbet!

I always check an ice cream shop's menu online before I visit. When I see an ice cream shop say they have "dairy free ice cream options," I get
excited because I assume they mean actual ice cream made with almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, or another dairy free milk. But then I go to the shop, and the majority of the time I'm left very disappointed because their "dairy free ice cream" is literally just sorbet.

To any ice cream shop owners out there: if you say you have "dairy free ice cream options," | expect actual ice cream made without dairy, not sorbet. If you only offer sorbet, just say you have sorbet! Don't advertise it as dairy free ice cream.

*I have nothing against sorbet or people who prefer it, I'm just looking for actual dairy free ice cream when a shop says they offer it. It's like going into a pasta shop and seeing that they advertise "gluten free pasta," only to find out they actually mean zucchini noodles. Zucchini noodles are fine, but they're not pasta!

Traditional Slavic/Eastern/Central European recipes that are gluten free?

I’m Slavic/Eastern/Central European and I’ve been wanting to get more into making traditional foods from my heritage, but since I’m gluten free, it’s been difficult finding recipes that I can actually make.

I’d really love to make traditional Slavic, Central, and Eastern European foods that are naturally gluten free, or recipes that can be adapted to be gluten free while still being the actual traditional dish.

If you have any traditional recipes that are gluten free, I’d love for you to share them in the comments!

Does anyone have any pics of how this shirt actually looks?

I’m wanting to buy merch and I’m interested in this MAYHEM Cutoff Shirt but I can’t find any pictures of someone wearing it so I have no idea how it actually looks.

What are the best GF bakeries and pastry shops in the U.S. that ship anywhere in the U.S.?

I’ve been craving GF baked goods/breads/pastries but my area doesn’t have many local places that sell these GF, so I have to order online. What are the best stores that ship GF baked goods/breads/pastries and the food actually tastes pretty good for being shipped out?

*Would prefer if the baked goods are also dairy free

Does anyone have any recommendations for GF Eastern/Central European/Slavic restaurants in the U.S.?

l've been in a mood for a while wanting to find lesser common cuisines to eat. I've gotten to the point where I'm honestly kind of bored of eating the same food all the time (Italian, Thai, Greek, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese...). I'm also 50% Czech so l've been craving cuisines that aren't as common in U.S. like Eastern/Central European and Slavic food but I can't seem to find any of these restaurants in the U.S. that offer traditional ethnic cuisine that is gluten free.

** I also want to be specific that I want to eat traditional food. I’m not interested in a restaurant saying “we have gluten free options” but their traditional cuisine isn’t gluten free and they can only offer a salad.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a non-dairy heavy cream that actually whips?

I bought Califia Farms Dairy Free Heavy Cream Alternative to try to make whipped cream, but it didn’t whip at all. No matter how much sugar I added, how much I chilled it, or how much I whisked it, it stayed completely liquid and didn’t whip. I’m looking for a dairy-free heavy cream that will actually whip into stiff peaks. Any recommendations?

How long does the UPS Store keep packages for personal mailbox holders?

Before anyone says “call your store,” I already did. I know every UPS Store franchise is independently owned and can have different policies. When I signed my mailbox agreement, I asked the employee and was told they could hold packages for “a few weeks,” but I wasn’t sure whether she meant that as a literal limit or just as a general “we can hold them for a reasonable amount of time” answer.

I’m not asking anyone to tell me my specific store’s policy, because I know only my store can answer that. I’m also not asking whether I should call them, because I already have.

What I’m looking for is other mailbox holders’ experiences. If you have a personal mailbox at a UPS Store, how long has your store held packages for you? Were you ever given a hard limit before packages would be returned, or have stores generally just held them until you picked them up as long as it wasn’t excessive?

I’m simply trying to get a feel for what is typical across other franchises and whether “a few weeks” is usually meant as a strict limit or just a general guideline.

I hate when games hide progression triggers among normal interactions

Does anyone else hate this video game mechanic? I’m not even sure what it’s called, but it’s when you’re in a room or area in a video game and there are a bunch of things you can interact with. Some are lore about the game, like letters, books, photos, notes, etc. Some are collectibles. Some are just extra things you can look at. And then one of them is the thing that continues the mission.

The problem is that a lot of games don’t make it obvious which interaction is going to continue the mission. As someone who likes to take my time in games to look at everything, learn more about the world of the video game, and collect stuff, this drives me crazy. I’ve had so many times where I’m looking around a room and I know there are still things I haven’t interacted with yet. Then I click on something thinking it’s just another object to examine, and suddenly a cutscene starts and the mission moves on and I can’t go back to the area I was looking around.

I want to be able to continue searching an area for lore, collectibles, etc. before moving onto the next mission. Many times I saw where other things were to examine, but I accidentally chose the “mission-continuing object” when I thought it was just another thing to collect or learn about the lore. I was planning on going back to the other items but the game just decided that the thing I clicked on was the mission trigger and now the area is gone.

I know people will say “just don’t interact with the thing that continues the mission,” but in a lot of games you can’t tell which thing is going to continue the mission until after you’ve already clicked on it. For example, I’m currently playing Uncharted 4 and this has happened so many times where I literally just paused my game right now to write this post because I got so irritated.

I wish more games would do something like having a door, person, or obvious mission marker that says something like “continue mission” or “leave area” so you know that if you interact with it you’re done exploring. Instead it feels like I’m trying to explore a room and accidentally trigger the next section of the game because I picked the wrong object first. Maybe this doesn’t bother other people, but as a completionist it’s one of my least favorite game mechanics.

Does anyone know why she didn’t sing… (🚨SPOILER🚨 for the Eternal Sunshine Tour)

Does anyone know why she didn’t sing intro (end of the world), true story, don’t wanna break up again, and bye? I understand not singing i wish i hated you for personal reasons but the other 4 eternal sunshine songs should’ve been on the setlist since they’re literally on the album being toured. I’m not hating on Rain On Me being on the setlist but having it over songs that are on eternal sunshine makes no sense to me.

ISO 2 Ariana Grande tickets in Brooklyn or Boston

I’m looking for Ariana tickets and wanted to ask here before paying resale-site prices. The fees on sites like StubHub, SeatGeek, and others can add a significant amount to the total cost. If you’re selling, you could price your ticket so that you receive the same amount you would net from a resale platform, while I pay less because there aren’t additional marketplace fees. That way, both of us benefit.

If you don’t take PayPal G&S, don’t even try with me because I will immediately block you.

I’m tired of gluten free pizza and the occasional GF pasta being the only flour-based options at Italian restaurants. I want more variety! Does anyone know of any places that serve gluten free calzones or strombolis?

Edit: Please don’t comment “you can make your own with blank.” I asked for restaurants. I don’t want to make them myself.

What happened to the ballad sound of the late 80s and 90s where it has like a synthy bells/xylophone/keyboard instrumental in the background? Think of the songs like I Have Nothing, Saving All My Love For You, Run To You, One Moment In Time, Didn’t We Almost Have It All, All at Once, All The Man That I Need, Miracle, Where Do Broken Hearts Go, When You Believe, My All, Always Be My Baby, I Still Believe, Vision of Love, Love Takes Time, Dreamlover, Hero, Without You, Endless Love, One Sweet Day, End Of The Road, The Power of Love, It’s All Coming Back To Me Now, Because You Loved Me, All By Myself, How Am I Supposed to Live Without You, Unbreak My Heart, Save The Best For Last…

These songs always gave me a “crystalline” and “sparkly” vibe. I wish people brought back this sound so much!!

Edit: For those thinking my list is “too long,” I wanted to post a long list because I kept listening through these songs and realized just how many songs had that sound and felt the need to type them all out just in case anyone wanted to have a nostalgia session like I did or if anyone was looking for songs with these similar instrumentals.
