This is going to be kind of weird post. When I was probably around 8 years old I noticed there was a large amount of blood in my pee. My mom was worried I started my period early when I told her but I when it became evident that I didn’t they rushed me to the hospital. I don’t remember much but I know I had to stay overnight, peed in cups for testing, and had to have very long shots several times. I don’t really know anything else or how long it lasted but whenever I bring it up my dad says he can’t remember anything and my mom always says something like “it wasn’t a big deal” or something along the lines of it. Honestly I’m just really curious about what can cause this or if there’s any reason they would hide it from me if they aren’t being truthful. Maybe they are just telling the truth and I’m being paranoid but I just want to know what it was. Also not sure if this is helpful but I did end up getting my period when I was 10 so I know it wasn’t that.

First of all some backstory is required for this. Im 16 and my step sister is 17, we both live at home. My parents divorced when I was 9, when I was 11 my mother quickly married and moved us in with a guy who had a daughter around my age. He was a workaholic and was always gone leaving my mom to raise us all as siblings, they were integrated into our family and I quickly saw her as my sister. Around last year in the fall, they told us they were getting a divorce, it was very expected with the state they’re marriage was in, it wouldn’t have been a big deal except for the fact that it meant breaking us siblings apart, they both promised that nothing would change between us kids and that they would both make efforts to let us see each other. Their promise held up to be true until my mother again found a new boyfriend and plans on marrying him as soon as possible, we are all obviously very skeptical as this would be her 3rd marriage that happened within a few months, the guy is very introverted and awkward so no one really talks to him much. It’s also worthy to note that 4th of July party’s are treated as family gatherings for us, as our family is very spread across the Midwest. Flash forward to a few days before our 4th of July gathering, my sister texts my mom asking how many days she can stay for the weekend, my mom replied with a hostile paragraph explaining that she wants to move on with her life and have no “extra children to take care of”, this was very unexpected as my step sister sees her as a mother figure. I understand that my mom wants to move on but I don’t think she handled it correctly. I try to confront my mother about this where she ends up telling me that the real reason she does not want my sister there is because her boyfriend said it would make him uncomfortable, this is what really set me off, most of our family has never met him compared to my sister who is considered to be family, we both said some very rude things to eachother before she let me know that I would have to choose between her or my sister, when I told her I wanted to be with my sister she said I was no longer invited to the 4th party. On July 3rd (the day that the party begins) me and sister spent the day in her car instead of with our family, the entire day we were getting calls and texts from everyone asking where we were. When night time came I asked my mom if we could still stay the night at our house, she told me that I wasn’t allowed home and to stay at my grandparents house (which is where the party takes place) when we got there most of our family was still there and told us that we should just stay for the party on the 4th and ignore my mom. The next morning when my mom get there and saw we hadn’t left yet she threw a fit and drove away for a few days to be with her boyfriend, leaving my 18 year old brother to watch us and the house. she is telling everyone that I kicked her out of our 4th of July party for someone who isn’t even related to us. AITA?
