My VP said he wanted to meet to coach me. I met with him today and he didn’t coach me on anything. What gives?

I’m a more junior member on the team and I’ve been asked to lead some cross-functional meetings every month with a lot of global partners. After the last meeting, he suggested we meet 1 on 1 so he can coach me more on how to drive the meetings. He said it felt like there was some gaps in the dialogue. He framed it like it was great idea to take him up on, so I was all for it.

Today, I meet with him and he seemed in a bad mood. He reads over my slide deck I prepared. Adds like one sentence to a slide. And says he has nothing to add, seems low risk and good to go. The meeting only lasted 20 mins.

I walked out feeling pretty disappointed. I even mentioned, hey I know you said there was some gaps last time, how could I communicate better? And he just said meh it’s fine his low risk. Am I the only one that thinks the whole thing is weird? Why would he even bother asking me to meet?

My bf (30M) wants to get a PhD in the Arts. Am I a bad partner for not being on board? (27F).

My boyfriend wants to get a PhD in music. He already has a masters. Right now we are struggling financially. I have a full time job, but he doesn’t. He works multiple part time music gigs and performs in weddings, making about $40k/yr in a HCOL. He has a lot of credit card debt and no savings.

He wants to get a PhD in music, and I want to be supportive, but I don’t see how this is going to better our situation. I see 4-5 more years of school, making no money, and when graduation time comes… I still don’t see a full time job in sight. The sad reality is getting a full time professor job is rare. I only see adjunct part time roles constantly and I always see educators complaining about how they’re treated unfairly. I also see this stalling our future - kids, marriage, etc.

I want him to become a full time teacher now. He could start off with a base salary and incrementally make more each year. Is it bad that I’m not on board?

What’s something you look for in dental treats? Do you buy them?

Just curious. I see lots of Greenies, Whimzees, Pedigree sticks, etc. What makes you choose one over the other? Is there anything you wish existed in the market?

I ask because I work in this space, but I own cats. Dogs are much different. Sometimes I wish I could just ask people what they are looking for! Or do you think the market is already oversaturated? Sometimes I feel that way… like 20 versions of the same thing are sold at the store.

And sorry if this is the wrong place to post. Happy to remove the post if it’s the wrong subreddit.

Does anyone else with vaginismus have back problems? Like herniated discs?

I’ve had vaginismus since I was a young kid. I’m 27 now and I’d say I’m 80% cured. I was happy to finally have somewhat “relaxed” muscles or a pelvic floor and then bam- herniated disc and back problems. My whole body is always tense and tight, it’s not just my pelvic floor. My knees and legs are tense. Back pain. Stiffness. Sometimes vaginismus flares up.

I’m just curious has anyone else had a similar experience? I know the two might be separate health issues but I feel like my entire body is just extremely stiff and tight all the time.

Can you help me name my new cat? His brother’s name is Bambino

His personality is very playful and social. He’s high energy and a little rascal, lol. He also has a brother named “Bambino.” I thought it could be funny to have another Italian name or something starting with a B. The dot/freckle on his nose is also very cute and special.

I can’t stand the way Christi treats the other moms

Rewatching the show and currently only season 3. I cannot stand Christi! I’m on the episode where she just called Melissa out for sleeping with people to get ahead. I just think that’s so out of pocket and not really fair to bring up in an argument about dance. Like way to air her out like that on public TV.

She’s always the common denominator when it comes to arguments. She fights with Melissa, fights with Jill, heck she even fought with Kelly this season.
