Help. I went all in on this cycle, now I’m screwed

Nearly half of my college coursework was completed in high school through dual enrollment. My parents made me do it and I was just really bad at school when I was a teenager. So despite graduating from undergrad with a near perfect gpa 2 years ago, my high school classes just tank it. I had always wanted to go to law school, but my LSAC gpa was just wrecked by my high school grades. I calculated it myself to be around a 2.97 gpa undergrad + dual enrollment. It sucked. I literally dreamed of being a lawyer as a kid. But instead I had to actually go work postgrad in an industry I didn’t even like.

Well a few weeks ago, as you all know, LSAC came out with the news that they would no longer factor in dual enrollment classes to their gpa calculation. I was elated. I was literally so excited I would just randomly bring it up to people who had no idea what LSAC even was. At a party last weekend I literally turned to a group of people (after not speaking that entire night) and just blurted out “did you see LSAC removed high school dual enrollment classes from their gpa calculation??” People thought I was crazy. I quit my job to study full time for the LSAT. And told my boss I didn’t actually care about the boring weekly reports he makes me send out, saying I’d make a brilliant legal mind one day on my way out the door. I told my parents they “no longer provide much utility to me”, and that they could take me off of their insurance because in a few years I’d be making the biglaw payscale ($240k starting salary). I abandoned my friends because I thought I’d make smarter, cooler, higher status friends at the T5 law school I was probably going to. I estranged my little brother, telling him that I’d only tolerate him if he gained the prestige similar to what I’d have upon attaining my juris doctorate. All of this may have been a little premature, but with my new gpa I had no doubts. I dreamed again.

I woke up this morning with a smile on my face (per usual these days). I cracked open my laptop and fired up lsat demon, along with the
r/lawschooladmissions sub. I saw a strange post and people freaking out about some decision made by LSAC. I clicked it. My face slowly twisted in horror as I realized what had been done to me. LSAC took away my dream- again. I hadn’t even gotten the chance to submit my transcripts to LSAC yet. They wined and dined me, then took me to bed and never called me back. I don’t know what to do. I totally uprooted my life to go all in on this cycle. I don’t even have a job right now.

If anyone has any advice on how I should proceed, I’d really appreciate it. I feel like such a dirty victim right now and I need answers from LSAC.

12 team, dynasty (first year), PPR, pick 11, superflex. What do you guys think? Should I try and trade for some depth at backup QB?

What do you guys think of my starters? I’m a little worried about the age of my team- they’re on the older side. Ceedee was my 2nd pick after I got burrow, another thing I’m a little uncertain about. I was between him and London. On the other hand, Pickens may take some attention away from lamb.

Juniors/mid-levels: is your job boring?

How boring is the day to day for those of you who are juniors/mid levels in big law? What practice group are you in?

Do you find the work to be intellectually stimulating and challenging? Or is it more mundane and tedious?

American citizen gaining French citizenship documents as a descendant?

Hi all,

My mom is French (her entire family is) and moved to the us when she was in her mid twenties (30 years ago) and married my dad (a us citizen). She’s kept up with her French citizenship since that time, including during my birth (I’m 23). At birth, I was registered with the French consulate, and I have my own French birth certificate naming my mother and her French birthplace. I was also registered in our livre de familie.

In my case, do I need a CNF to obtain my citizenship documentation (ie passport/national id) despite having a French birth certificate?

I’ve read that obtaining a CNF is fairly difficult and a lengthy process. It also seems that despite having clear documentation that I’m a french citizen by descent, it’s possible that I may need a cnf to gain documentation.

Thanks!

Does MARPE/MSE help widen the palate and leave more room for the tongue?

I 23M have tongue thrust and a narrow upper palate/high arch, could someone like me benefit from a Marpe/mas treatment? Can this also help with airway expansion?

What are your thoughts on these treatments overall for a young adult?

Thanks guys

How bad is my long face syndrome? Surgery warranted?

Hey guys.

I’ve been having some not great Tmj issues recently which was chalked up to stress/nighttime clenching by a specialist. I was also told that I kjnd of have long face syndrome. She told me that the source of my Tmj issues are likely not the long face syndrome. My bite is off and I have a slight open bite.

I know this can potentially cause some functional issues. I’m satisfied with my appearance. but if things are bad functionally because of this, I want to get in front of it.

I’m 23M and the last thing I want to do is get braces and surgery, which seems to be about a 2 year process all in.

What do you guys think about my cbct scan?

Thanks

Splint: bad or good?

Can an orthotic like a splint help chronic Tmj? Especially if the underlying issue is jaw/bite misalignment?

All thoughts are welcome.

Tmj and bad bite, Houston doctor thoughts?

Long story short I went to a dentist to check out my chronic Tmj I’ve had for the past 6-8 months . I’m in basically daily pain, with it getting worse when I speak.. not good. She told me my bite is bad/crossbite (it is, although cosmetically my teeth look fine). She told me I had arthritis in the joint/it was damaged. The underlying issue was said to be the bad bite. The prognosis was invisalign (for bite correction), prp therapy, Botox, trigger point therapy, and splint. With Invisalign starting immediately. The quote was ~$16k.

I saw some posts on here about how Invisalign could actually worsen Tmj in spite of the corrected bite, and that this alone likely won’t help. I then called dr. Katherine Phillips office at Restore Tmj (Houston).

I spoke to someone super knowledgeable on tmj and he was disgusted by the dentist’s prognosis. He told me that the jaw first needs to be stabilized before attacking any alignment issues (ie utilizing Invisalign/braces). They do this with a splint (worn 24/7), costing ~$4k.

Does anyone have experience with using a splint in this way? Does anyone have experience with this doctor? Can someone give me insight into whether or not this attack plan (ie splint to stabilize, then Invisalign to correct bite), will work if the underlying issue is the bite?

Thanks guys. This shit really sucks

Getting treatment for Tmj?

Not really sure what to do to get treated aside from going to a general dentist? I’m in Houston, and there’s a bunch of specialists.. but none of them take insurance.

Does anyone have any advice? Do I just go to a dentist?

Possible to break into power/utility IB with a background working for a power company?

23M working on the trade floor as an analyst at a power company rn. Working in a mid office function and I’m kind of exploring my options atp for various reasons.

I have an Econ degree (3.9) from a large state school in Texas. I work in Houston. Would jumping over to a power/utilities IB role be feasible for me from the position I’m in currently? Or would I have to first get an mba?

Thanks guys
