I've been a college student for about a week and I haven't made a single friend. I do not understand how people can make so many friends so quickly and easily.  Seriously, how do people make friends? I never know how or when to start conversations. And when I do find someone I occasionally talk with whether in class or on campus, I never succeed in being able to take it further and becoming actual friends with them.  It also doesn't help that I'm sometimes anxious in social situations. So if anyone has tips on how to make friends please share! 

I know this subreddit has a lot of privilege kids here. I want to know what is like to study in these top international school in Hong Kong, since I currently go to a local school. How is the education quality? Are you fluent in canto? What do you guys do on the weekends? Is the workload and academic culture stressful? Are your fellow classmates snobbish, classist etc?

im an incoming freshman and ive seen multiple posts on this sub saying its so difficult to make friends and that some don't rly make a lot of progress throughout their 4 years. this already worries me since i didnt really have a lot of friends in high school and i thought this would be a new, fresh start but these posts already increased my anxiety a bit.

so s the difficulty of making friends here exggerated? or is it actually easier contrary to what most people say?

I've been hardstuck plat for so long (peak D2), and I can't seem to reach diamond or even ascendant. I solo queue mostly since I don't have people to play with. This begs my question; I’ve watched pro players, watched guides and worked on my fundamentals and tried everyday. But it feels like regardless I lose. Often times if I ask a community they’ll just say that plat is easy enough and I should easily rank up. But I haven’t, so….. should I just quit? Is it just too late for me and I should cut my losses? It feels frustrating how everyone just has good teammates in solo queue and it just results in me losing every match

So should I quit? Or keep trying

For me, high school has been the most miserable years of my life. It was just constantly comparing myself to people who did better than me, whether it be academically, socially or extracurriculars. To top it off, I didn't really have longstanding best friends, and what little friends I did have basically treated me like trash and I felt like I played second fiddle to everybody else. I just wanna leave high school. Hell, if I see my anyone at my HS in college, I might just retch.
