Getting confused about Hires: 1

Hi, I am a little confused about what this means. Has the client already hired one freelancer, or is the client looking to hire one freelancer? Also, why don’t I see this option for every job on Upwork? Please help.
Thanks

Seeking Cofounder with Cold Email & Lead Generation Experience

Hi everyone,

I'm a web developer with 8 years of experience building websites and web applications, and I'm currently focused on growing a web design and development agency.

I'm looking for a cofounder who has experience with cold email outreach, lead generation, and client acquisition. My strengths are website design, development, project delivery, and handling sales calls. I'm looking for someone who enjoys building outbound systems and generating qualified opportunities.

What I bring:

• 8 years of web development experience

• Ability to deliver client projects from start to finish

• Technical expertise and client communication

• Commitment to growing the business long-term

What I'm looking for:

• Experience with cold email campaigns

• Lead generation and prospecting skills

• Ability to test and improve outreach processes

• Interest in building a business together rather than freelancing

The business is still in its early stages, so I'm looking for someone who wants to help build it from the ground up. I'm open to discussing a fair equity or profit-sharing structure depending on experience and involvement.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to comment or send me a message with a bit about your background and what you've worked on before.

Thanks!

What online business would you start today if you already had 8 years of web development experience?

I have been working as a web developer for about 8 years, building websites and web applications for clients.

Most of my experience has been in service-based work, but lately I've been thinking more about building something that can scale beyond client projects.

If you were in my position today, what type of online business would you focus on?

Some ideas I've considered:

• A small SaaS product

• Selling website templates or digital products

• A niche content website

• Productized web services

• Lead generation websites for local businesses

I am curious what people have actually seen work in the current market, especially with AI changing how websites and software are built.

For those who have made the jump from freelancer or agency work into a business of your own, what would you do differently if you were starting today?

I manually recreated this AI-generated design in Webflow. Looking for feedback

I am trying Webflow for the first time, and today I manually recreated the hero section of an AI-generated design in Webflow. No code export or automated conversion, just rebuilding it from scratch.

How close does this feel to a production-ready implementation?

I also added the image on the right, which wasn't part of the original AI-generated design, to make the hero section feel more complete.

I'd love feedback on the layout, spacing, responsiveness, visual hierarchy, and anything else you think could be improved.

Do your clients ever ask you for websites even though you don't offer web development?

I have noticed that many sign shops and vehicle wrap companies have clients who need branding, signage, wraps, and sometimes a website as part of the same project.

For those of you who own or run sign companies, how often do clients ask if you can build their website too?

When that happens, what do you usually do?

  • Refer them elsewhere?
  • Turn the work down?
  • Partner with a freelancer or agency?
  • Handle it in-house?

I am curious because it seems like there could be additional revenue opportunities for sign shops without having to become web development companies themselves.

Would love to hear how others handle it.

Are people still getting jobs on Upwork?

Hi, I have applied to lots of jobs on Upwork, but I'm not getting any responses from clients, even though I have 7+ years of experience in web design and development.

I've spent a lot of money on Connects, but it feels like they've all gone to waste.

Is this happening to everyone, or am I doing something wrong? I would really appreciate any advice or feedback.

Thanks
