Going from an active trader to a prudent investor ?

Hi, maybe a stupid question, but I’m new to investing, so here goes.

If in 2026 the tax authorities consider me a speculative investor, and then in 2027 I don’t do anything, and in 2028 I only sell my ETFs/stocks, could I be considered a “good father of the family” again in 2028?

I could simply ask whether the tax authorities assess my activity based on the year in question, or whether they look at my entire history as an investor ?

The Season 2 Complaints Department

I’m not even going to get into all the flaws of this season, what a waste. What frustrates me the most is Melanie’s absence, considering she’s the only one who knows about Sugar., There was so much potential to develop their relationship in an interesting way. It’s as if all the characters from season one were just completely swept aside.

Just to be clear, I still love the show. I think it has so much potential.

Ajovy is brutal.

Hey,

After 15 months on Ajovy, I had to stop it for 3 months because of insurance issues. I restarted with an injection a few days ago, and now I’m experiencing the side effects I had before, but much worse: intense fatigue, a kind of nausea/dizziness feeling, and an increase in migraines , the irony.

I really have the feeling that my body is telling me that anti-CGRP treatments are not for me. It’s awful. I don’t even want to talk about it with my neurologist because he will just say : “There are no side effects.”

Honestly, I feel like we’re really being treated like idiots sometimes. We don’t even know the long-term effects...

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? I should add that I’ve been suffering from chronic pain for 15 years (central sensitization) and IBS, fatigue,...

Do you like these ?

I fell in love with this pair. Morel is a French eyewear manufacturer, and Jean Nouvel is a renowned architect.

I absolutely love the grey color and the perfectly round shape. Unfortunately, I only have a photo of someone wearing the black version.

Blurry Lenses

hey, I ordered glasses from an online seller after carefully checking my pupillary distance and making sure everything seemed correct. But when I received and tried them today, it was a complete disaster. Whenever I look anywhere other than through the center of the lenses, straight ahead, everything becomes blurry and it makes me feel nauseous very quickly.

I don't have this problem with my current glasses. Even when my eyes are not perfectly centered in the lenses horizontally, my vision stays clear.

I also ordered three pairs, and they all have exactly the same issue, so it has to be the same problem affecting every pair. Any idea what could be causing this?

I suspect the issue could be the fitting height, which wasn't requested. It's an important measurement when you have astigmatism, even if it's mild.

In the end, I guess my optician will get to rip me off again and charge me a fortune, as always. That's the moral of the story.

Underrated ?

Hi, I only just discovered this show, and I absolutely love it. I’ve only got one episode left before I finish Season 1.

But I’m worried about its future. The show seems to be largely unknown in the French speaking world, with very few reviews, even on IMDb.

It really feels like this show has flown under the radar.

Scenario and dialogue

We can agree that the story and dialogue are unbelievably weak, right?

Rob Will had so much potential, but it was never explored. And don't even get me started on the romance between the two teenagers, it drags the entire series down.

I still enjoyed the season overall, though.

Pupillary distance

Hey, I had my appointment with the ophthalmologist. He doesn't measure pupillary distance. I'm absolutely stunned.

I want to order my glasses online, but without my pupillary distance, I'm out of luck.

Is it possible to measure it yourself accurately ? If so, how ?

Thanks.

Another question about taxation.

Hello, I have a question. I’m new to the stock market, so my question might be a bit stupid, maybe.

Let's assume I sell two ETFs that I have held for more than six months and therefore managed as a prudent and reasonable investor ("bonus pater familias").

And on the other hand, I might sell a few short puts while waiting to be assigned.

Could the tax authorities classify me as a speculative trader just because of a few option trades ?

If yes, can they separate things and tax my ETFs gains at 0% while taxing options at 33%, or is there a high chance they tax everything at 33% because they label me as a speculator ?

Thanks.

Your experience with Firmoo, Blacksheep, Visionet,... ?

Hi,

I’m getting fed up with being ripped off by my optician, so I’ve decided to order prescription glasses online. I know progressive lenses are generally strongly discouraged online, but I only have mild astigmatism and about -3 myopia.

Anyway, what have your experiences been with these sellers? It’s hard to find reliable reviews, and I’m wary of Trustpilot because of fake positive reviews.

Thanks.

The seven best-performing stocks between June 22 and August 28.

Hello,

My broker is organizing a contest where you can win a bike. The idea is to pick seven stocks or ETFs, and whoever has the best-performing portfolio between June 22 and August 28, 2026, will win.

I can also make transfers every week, meaning I can replace some stocks or ETFs with others during the contest.

Just to be clear, it's completely fictional, and I won't be investing any real money in it. There will only be three winners.

If you'd like to help me out, I'm open to suggestions! Thanks!

You won't win anything, of course... except my eternal gratitude.

I've been thinking about ONDS, KRKNF, MU, ACHR, SIDU, ASTS, and PDYN. What do you think ?

Hi,

At what point do you go from being a passive investor to an active trader under Belgian law?

Let’s say I make a few swing trading over the course of a year (no options, no leverage, just buying and selling after a few weeks at most). Would I be taxed at 33% instead of 10%?

It all seems really unclear. There are no concrete thresholds, it feels vague and somewhat arbitrary.
