What is your special interest?

I constantly see people writing that men with Asperger’s tend to be interested in science, trains, cars, and the like, whereas girls are into cosmetics, creativity, and clothing. I am a girl with Asperger’s, and my special interests fall into two categories: science (neuroscience, biology, and DNA) and games that challenge the mind (chess, Chinese checkers, Tetris, and Lego). As for creativity—I don’t consider drawing a special interest of mine, though I do enjoy it—but I absolutely adore lions. I’d be interested to hear what others have to say.

I feel angry because I was taken to a Christian group to socialize.

I want to smash everything around me; I’m angry and want to scream. My family didn’t want me going to autism support groups, so instead, they took me to *this* place. There were terrible men there who justified all sorts of bad things—alcoholism, drugs, and abuse. They started saying that divorce is bad and that even if a woman is being beaten, it’s her duty to put up with it. I tried to explain things to them, but they kept interrupting me and anyone else who held a different opinion. I am never coming back here.

I see three types of headcanons for Akko Kagari online: ADHD, autism, and AuDHD. I’m just curious about what *you* headcanon and why—I’d love to hear your thoughts. Little Witch Academia

I'm just curious.

I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's

I'm not happy at all. I'm officially autistic, but people who know about this diagnosis are angry at me, saying that I'm not autistic, that I'm pretending, and that I need to forget. I feel bad. I've had a full examination, all the tests, and more than one doctor, but I'm afraid that they might be right.

Why do you use this device and at what age?

Hi, I'm verbal and neurodivergent, but I've always been curious about how nonverbal or semiverbal people live. I'm curious about how you started using it. How did that happen? Have you been nonverbal since childhood? Why don't you talk? Have you ever used it? (Sorry for the rude questions, but I'm genuinely curious.)

Whose tics get worse during cold weather?

I don't know, but I live in a Scandinavian country, and it's getting cold here as autumn approaches, and now when my body senses changes in the weather, I start twitching, and this causes tics. It also happens in the shower when I adjust the water temperature, and I get tics :_

I don't understand why people respond strangely to my dialogues.

I love different biographies and sciences and I was once talking to a classmate about how Albert Einstein didn't speak until he was 3 and couldn't speak clearly enough until he was 7, to which she said, "Um, that's not my problem." I was confused, well, yes, it's not her problem, but I didn't say that it was her problem. It's weird how other people talk. Sometimes it seems to me that they just say random things without meaning.Sometimes I talk to a guy from a special class. He has autism, but it's less functional, and I feel more comfortable with him. We sometimes play games and I help him. He probably has some developmental delays, but he can speak, but I feel much more comfortable with him. I see the sense in his words and the logic than from people with higher intelligence.

weighted blanket it's help?

I don't understand how this blanket works and I'm wondering if it helps. Isn't it painful? I don't like being hugged and I think if the blanket constantly presses on me, wouldn't that be bad?

Doctors think I have autism, but my mother denies it.

I feel broken, I'm a teenager and many specialists suspect I have autism since I was 13, but in my country there is terrible information about autism and of course no one helped me, but I moved to another country with my mother and here it is better with this and they are trying to help me. This is not the first year that teachers noticed I have problems, but in the winter I had the most severe sensory overload. I periodically suffer from this and other problems, but my mother is sure that I am not autistic (she also said this when I was assessed for epilepsy and tics lol). Today I had a meeting with the doctor who will conduct the autism assessment. She is very good and tried to explain to my mother that autism is a spectrum, although she behaved more or less well. The only thing she tried to emphasize is that I was normal, but I don’t know. I feel very upset because she said that if someone asks, we go to the doctor because of epilepsy and not autism, and I feel sad because I don’t feel support.

My family wants me to try driving, but I'm afraid.

I feel very angry, I need to choose a subject for school next year, and they are all difficult for my health. One of them is driving. I have not had any attacks for 2 months for the first time, but I don’t know how long I will be in remission, because I have attacks every month several times, and this is one of the reasons why I do not want to get behind the wheel. Secondly, I have a diagnosed tic disorder (it occurs every day, there is no medicine). My tics are aggravated by stress and sometimes they are strong and I am afraid that I simply will not be able to hold the steering wheel in my hands. I am also being assessed for high-functioning autism and I am afraid that I simply will not be able to withstand the loud sounds of sudden car movements and will become hysterical. I feel crushed because my whole family is putting pressure on me that I am making myself “disabled” and amplifying my illnesses, which I am simply afraid of. I feel bad and sad.

I'm more afraid of having an epileptic seizure while driving than anything else. It's easier for me to think that I'll never get behind the wheel, or only after several years of remission, than to ruin someone else's life or my own.
