Help me! Kindle or kobo

I bought a kobo Clara bw and a kindle paper white both for the same price with the intention of returning one. Unfortunately, I'm having lots more trouble in deciding which one to keep than I had anticipated. I have made a pros and cons list for each device and would like help deciding which one to keep.

Kobo Clara Bw

Pros
SIZE!!!! I have small hands so the size makes it very comfortable to hold
The UI is lovely
I love how customizable it is
Love all the progress bars while you're reading and on the sleep screen
No ads
Can adjust the brightness right on the page
Can search the definition of a word on the web from the device
Power button on the back!!
Very eco friendly

Cons
Quality isn't the best. It feels fine but I've noticed that the corner of the screen is kind of fading? Not super noticeable but still noticeable enough to take note of.
No syncing side loaded books on my phone
The kobo bookstore isn't great. It doesn't feel nice to browse on and it's a bit limited though I mostly read mainstream books.
Kobo plus isn't too great

Kindle Paper-white 12th gen

Pros
Syncs my side loaded books to my phone via kindle
Quality, many have said their kindle paper white lasts years! It also just feels more premium
Fun page turn animation
Time stamp at the top of the page
Kindle unlimited, though I don't know if I will end up using it since I don't read that many books a month and will mostly sideload my backlog books for the first year or so. But it's nice to have that option
Very long battery life
Send to kindle!
Super quick and snappy
Overall very easy to use
Lots of case options
The kindle store is very pleasant to scroll through
Prime books

Cons
Size, it's a bit uncomfortable to hold but I think I can get used to it
Not a fan of the rounded screen edges but again I can probably get used to it
Less progress options on the screen
Closed ecosystem? Personally I don't think this will affect me too much since I can easily send all my ePub books to my kindle since they are all DRM free.
Have to pay to remove ads :(
Amazon is greedy

I understand this sub is a bit biased towards kobo but it still felt like the best sub to ask advice. Would love to hear what actually matters long term for you guys. Please be friendly!! Thank you! :D

Edit: Going with the kobo!

What are the Hispanic butches & mascs wearing to quinces?

I have a quinceañera coming up in a month and have absolutely no idea what to wear. I looked up formal wear on Pinterest and TikTok but I feel like it's not formal enough and more of business casual and semi formal. Would love some help!!

High cpu usage causing low battery life??

So my cousin bought a refurbished thinkpad t14 2 a few weeks ago but it wouldn't last more than two hours and cpu kept saying it was using up 15% on idle. I assumed the high cpu usage was causing it to die within two hours so I tried literally everything to fix it and nothing. I chalked it up to the actual laptops hardware or something having problems and suggested she return it and she buy a different one.

She got a gen 3 this time with a amd cpu instead of a intel one and the battery life is still only 2 hours and cpu using 13-16% on idle. I literally don't know what to do anymore or what could be wrong. Microsoft store isn't stuck downloading anything and it's not open so I don't know why it's using so much. OneDrive also appears to be using quite a bit but she barley uses it. What's wrong?????

Werewolf stiffness?

Did anyone else that got the new wolf feel like it's quite stiff? Absolutely love the new wolf and its fur just kind of wish it was a little more floppy and posable.

Best Rhaenicent fics??

Looking for good and/ or lengthy Rhaenicent fics. I don't want any with alternate universes, omegaverse, or g!p. Seems like most have those tags or storylines and I'm not a fan, would just like something that follows the shows story pretty well. Would prefer if it's mature or explicit. Also, if it follows the events of the recent episodes that's also a bonus but def not necessary!! Would love some recs since it seems quite difficult to find any that matches my criteria. Thanks! 😊

Tortico or calico?

Here's my baby, Olive, and I'm not totally sure if she's tortico or calico since she does have a lot of white but her fur pattern reminds me of a tortie

Best washer and dryer combo in 2026? What brands to avoid?

My sisters family and I are looking to buy my mother a new washing machine and dryer set to replace the horrendous samsung AI all in one combo we currently have for her birthday. Been looking at sets on the best buy and home depot site and found a few options with solid reviews but very few saying they lasted more than 2 or 3 years. Looking to purchase in store not online only so speed queen is likely out the window. We want to get her something that will last a very long time and is not too "techy". Please let me know what you guys would recommend, thanks! Also looking for something 5.0 cu or bigger

Hello everyone, I(20F) am just finishing my first year of community college. Everything was fine at the beginning but second semester was a pain to complete with good grades.

I think because I'm not working towards a specific goal and just trying to "figure it out" really unmotivated me from completing my work. Though, I think I've narrowed it down to what I want to do.

First choice is getting my bachelors and majoring in communications and perusing either film, journalism, or marketing(or something else related to those three). Second choice is getting my associates at my community college in IT and software development and pursue something in that field.

Now for pros and cons of each for me
Option one
Pros
- More creative freedom
- Possibly more fulfilling
- Will likely be doing something different on a week to week basis
- Kind of what my passion has circled around
Cons
- Competitive field(not a competitive person)
- Very often experience creative burn outs
- Unstable
- Pay isn't great - especially at first
- I live in Virginia so not much job growth for this field here

IT/ Software development
Pros
- Stable(er)
- Remote work(honestly this can also be a con)
- Decent pay after a while or maybe even starting
- High job growth in Virginia
- Only 2 years of school( unless I change my mind and go for a bachelors)
- More transferable(in case I wanna move to a different state or country or something)
- I somewhat enjoy working with technology and solving problems
Cons
Very stressful(apparently)
- Will spend most of my time staring at a screen
- Not exactly passionate in this field
- Again can often be remote so goodbye social life
- Might feel unfulfilling

So yeah this is my predicament. I'd love some advice from people in either fields and their personal experiences with the careers I want to pursue and how they decided. I feel like the communications route might be more fulfilling for me and I might be happier doing it but it's so competitive and I don't think I'm passionate or creative enough about it to successfully find a career in the field. People say IT is stressful but I think I'll be equally as stressed if I go into a career with low stability and low pay but who knows maybe I'll be much happier. I don't know I'm really lost here and could seriously use some guidance. Since this is Reddit I'll end this off by saying PLEASE be kind and respectful. Thank you guys.
