Halo's future judging by current rumors :

An update for those out of the loop about rumors of incoming games (not gonna mention the canceled ones) THESE ARE ALL RUMORS AND AS SUCH, NOT CONFIRMED

- The next main mp title might become the live-service game that gets seasonal updates

- H2-3 Remakes already in the works

- A spin-off is on the works aside the Remakes

- Recent layoffs/studios shut down to save MS money will get Halo a bigger budget as it becomes a priority for Xbox once more.

- Activision studios involved in Halo project (spin-off)

What do you think? Honestly, aside from some unfortunate events (people losing their jobs), gotta say if this is all true, we could be eating real good in the next years.

The RPG saga put a lot more emphasis on the game's setting rather than the Assassin's themes, which is another reason why I'm excited about Resynced

Since AC1 up to Syndicate, the franchise never failed to show its own and very unique identity.

Hidden blades, roaming around rooftops of a dense cityscape and the unmistakable (i refer them as) uniforms of the Assassin's were never missing. Everything else has always been subject to changes and additions.

Focusing on the clothing; we had these "uniforms" no matter the era (from the middle ages to 1800) that really characterized the Assassin's robes. Obviously, all games had some outfits that looked nothing related to the Assassins, but we still had a lot that did, and especially the protagonist's main one always resembled this "uniform".

Since origins, we've rarely seen anything like that.

- Origins : no dense city, underwhelming hidden blade due levels.

- Odyssey: No uniform (there are like 2 hoods in the base game), no dense city, no Hidden blade.

- Valhalla : the only Assassin-themed thing in that game was Basim, I won't get into details cause I'm sure y'all know it all already.

- Shadows : actually tried to be an AC somehow, yet failed due aggressive level system and lack of dense city, again.

I know there are logical reasons why that's been the case. It's not a criticism as "rpg = bad game".

I'm just saying it's been so long since we got an AC that felt like one. It makes it so refreshing to get an ac with more Assassin's vibes this time around.

Especially as someone who never played Black Flag before, I'm truly excited about Resynced. That's it, no hate. Just my opinion.

Ps. I know Mirage is quite an exception, but i don't count it alongside the main games because of its more limited budget (unfortunately).

The misinformation about DD2 "microtransactions" did heavy damage to the game as proven in this thread

https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/s/UqUEfyu17w

Just look how many people believe these were invasive microtransactions. So many of them have no idea what those items actually were.

I'm telling you, those who spread misinformation about it around DD2 release did more damage than you think.

So, I'm guessing everybody in here will buy the DLC, huh ? What you wish to see added/improved?

ASIDE STUFF THAT HAS BEEN ALREADY CONFIRMED, I wish for :

- Option for enemy's level scaling

- Improved luxury Houses

- New mansion that's actually BIG

- The new 12 dungeons to have each a themed boss at the end (like a Litch at the end of one with spectral vibes or a drake at the end of one with lava scenery)

- The new region to be interconnected with Vermund via oxcart route and not only accessible through teleport/flying

- Hostile Forts (not limited to quest), given the presence of a new humanoid enemy faction.

I'm not too confident to see some of these implemented, but as recently proven, Hope never dies.

Some considerations about combat styles

I see everyone is asking for hidden blades, and I too hope they'll add it eventually.

However, I really wish they won't just make it as the swords combat. For example, I think we shouldn't be able to block nor parry with hidden blades (which always looked silly af even in the og if we're honest), you should rely only on dodges, imo.

It would give a more distinct identity to this combat style, making it feel very different from dual swords. (Maybe they should make them quick and lethal to compensate for the weak defense)

On a different note, I really wanna see the rifle among Edward's arsenal. I feel like it would suit the hunting activities much better, and we could mess around with sniper-like gameplay, too.

I can see them adding both weapons to the game post-launch. After all, the models and animations are already here for the most part, so it shouldn't be much of an issue for them (I hope so).

What do you think ?

The combos you can do at will with light/heavy/charged attacks feels incredibly good and free. Something way different from the avarege "spam x" or "spam heavy/light" buttons.

The animation quality was also top-notch.

However, the gear-level based system often made enemies feel like sponges.

To align it more in an action-oriented system, they could replace the "armor system" with the "defense" one showcased in Resynced. This means that, instead of breaking the enemy's armor (and doing more damage afterward), you'd instead break their defenses that would open them for a takedown animation (chainable).

This could be an insanely good combat system that takes the best of the new ac and mix it with the cinematic style of the old one (+ no levels).

I bring this up because with Resynced, we might see a focus on more action oriented combat systems (hopefully). But I fear that because of this, Ubisoft might just leave Shadows' incredible one behind.

What are your thoughts? Would you like to see this combat system again?

Now, it hasn't been 100% confirmed that unarmed combat won't be there. But it's safe to assume so, given their response on the AMA and the lack of any footage of it in the trailer (just like hidden blade combat).

However, Black Flag does have a few sequences where unarmed combat was mandatory, like tavern brawls.

In the AMA, it has been confirmed that all tavern's mini-games present in the original will also be in Resynced. The trailer even shows a cutscene briefly, which leads to a brawl (right?).

Therefore, we can only assume brawls will still be in the game, somehow.

So, if no proper unarmed combat is in the game, my guess would be that, either they made the brawls as regular fights with weapons (laziest options), or they changed the sequences in quick time events (if not straight up regular cutscenes).

What do you think ?

I personally would prefer a proper unarmed combat (even if we can't steal enemies' weapons). But we'll see.

I love they chose AC IV for the first Remake in the Saga because it's both an Assassin's Creed game and an awesome Pirate game.

While playing Odyssey, I always thought that a modernized version of the Black Flag/Rogue naval combat would have been huge. With more customization and such too.

Plus, they have the chance to enhance the "stealth-assassin experience" that wasn't that great in the original (which it already looks like they did).

I wish they'd have increased the size of the main cities, but it's my understanding they didn't (?) Which is a shame imo.

Modernized combat that still uses a lot of takedown animations is a great choice (needs some vfx tuning, but it's already been confirmed they're working on it)

And I pretty much love everything else they said they've added to the game (new missions, pets, new officers with unique abilities for your ship, new chanties, weather conditions, and so on).

Upcoming weeks will likely have a new blog post each week, which will dig a bit deeper into different topics about the game, like exploration/progression/customization and such, I'm sure. They usually do so, right ?

So, anyway, it's gonna be cool learning more about all the changes/additions they've worked on. Can't wait!
