Silicone-based primer

Please give me your best silicone-based primer recommendations! I am yet another victim of the Double Wear reformulation. Before the reformulation I could more or less use any primer as DW was doing the heavy lifting re longevity.

I’ve now found my best replacement, Teint Idole Ultra. BUT! I put it on today for work calls at home (admittedly with no primer) and went to wash my face just now and barely any make up came off. A day of just moving between my office, kitchen and bathroom and it evaporated off my face!

I’m thinking that with a good primer and setting spray (I’m good on the setting spray) I can help the longevity.

However, I’ve tried a few primers I’m not that impressed with. Benefit pore filler is insanely expensive but doesn’t spread cleanly across your face and is prone to pilling. I’ve tried a couple of the Elf sticky ones. They’re ok but I hate that sticky feeling. I’d put up with it though if that’s the best recommendation!

Does anyone have any recommendations? It would have to be silicone based as that’s what Teint Idole is. Thank you beauties!

American pandering

I know the Times Square invitation might have gone to their heads but do you think they’re going a bit insane on the American pandering?

They already do the “explanation for non-British listeners” jingle but often they just say in convo “Oh for the Americans, you won’t know who Noel Edmonds/Paddy McGuinness/Alan Shearer is so we’ll explain they are…

Does any American podcast offer such explanations? “You won’t know what Target is but…” “You probably won’t have heard of Tom Brady but..”.

The recent email with the American complaining about “idioms” was just a bit mental and the beans should have just ignored it, especially as the emailer’s apparent lack of comprehension was a bit dubious for a lot of the terms.

Rice alternatives (not cauli)

Has anyone been able to find any good rice alternatives that aren’t cauliflower rice? I know you can get konjac rice but wondering if there are any particular brands people recommend or if there’s anything else I’m missing?

Warbreaker before or after Way of Kings?

I saw a comment (though over a year old, so I can’t reply to that person) on a thread about Elantris saying that Warbreaker should be read after the first Stormlight book but didn’t explain why.

I’ve read Mistborn era 1 and Elantris. I loved Elantris as a standalone and fairly sure my local library has Warbreaker so wanted to give that a go as a standalone before diving in to Stormlight Archive.

Do you agree it is best read after SA book 1 or can it be read as a standalone before that without losing anything?

Buzzer repair

Does anyone have any recommendations for repairing a broken buzzer?

I’ve tried Googling but a lot of results show locksmiths who don’t specify if they can deal with buzzers or not.

Thanks.

I recently changed jobs and my new work is five days in office. I live alone and really struggling to get it all done with this set up. What are your tips if you’re single with no external help (whether family, cleaner or other service) to do it all? Cleaning, exercise, ironing, running errands, meal prep…

Especially interested to hear from women whose jobs require them to look polished too, so hair and make up always done, nails always done etc.

It genuinely seems impossible to do it all at the moment, and that’s without ever seeing friends or family or doing anything fun. I feel like all I do is work and do chores and it’s really getting me down, so hoping for some tips to make everything even a bit more manageable!
