How did you prepare to be a parent?

I'm about to become a first-time dad, and my wife is currently 37 weeks pregnant with our baby girl. I've been doing my best to prepare for her arrival in every way I can. I've been learning how to cook so I can make meals for my wife during her postpartum recovery, I've gotten the pack and play set up, and I've been trying to educate myself as much as possible.

That said, I still feel like there are so many little things I don't know. Things like doctor's appointments, paperwork, what to expect in the hospital, and all the small details that experienced parents just seem to know. I want to do everything I can to support my wife, be the best dad I can be, and make this transition as smooth as possible for our family.

For those of you who've already been through this, what are the little things you wish someone had told you before your first baby arrived? What should I be doing now that will make a big difference once she's here?

People who got married young, how are you doing?

I got married young—I'm 21, my wife is 19, and we've now been married for about a year and a half. My wife is currently 36 weeks pregnant with our baby girl, and it's crazy how much life has changed in such a short amount of time. Since getting married, we've moved away from our hometown to Tennessee, and we're actually about to move again to South Carolina. We also got to spend our honeymoon in Japan, which is still one of my favorite memories we've made together.

Marriage has honestly been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I feel like I've grown up so much over the last year and a half. I still have a lot to learn, but I genuinely feel like I married my best friend. We've been through exciting moments, stressful moves, financial challenges, and now we're about to become parents together. Every season has taught me something new about communication, sacrifice, and loving someone beyond just the easy moments.

I'm curious to hear from other people who got married young. How long have you been married now? What have been your biggest challenges and your favorite memories? Is there anything you wish you knew during your first few years of marriage? I'd love to hear your stories and see where life has taken everyone else.
