First day of school

I feel like the worst mom in the world today. My kid started school and we have been hyping it up for awhile as it’s a new school so we wanted her to be excited. Well today was the day and this morning was a disaster and it’s all my fault. Starting off with getting ready, my 4 year old would not cooperate while getting dressed, getting her hair done, nothing. She was just bouncing off the wall and making everything so hard. My 4 week old was crying and fussing so my husband was trying to deal with that. Then it came time to take the first take of school pics and she again would not chill out and just take a picture and I literally snapped and said forget it and just tossed the little sign down and stormed inside. I just wanted a cute picture and to have a good morning and everything felt impossible. My kid got upset because I got upset and then of course i immediately felt horrible. She got over it almost right away but it’s been eating me alive all morning. I do not want to be the mom that ruins special moments. I’m trying to chalk it up to exhaustion because I have a newborn and a 4 year old but I’ve been feeling like such an asshole version of myself lately. Any tips on how to be better? How are we regulating ourselves? I came from an emotionally explosive house hold so that’s NOT how I want my kids to grow up.

Are all 4 year olds annoying AF?

I love my daughter to death and think she’s so funny, smart, & witty but she’s in the most annoying phase ever! I feel horrible but I find myself so exasperated with her on the daily.
She asks me the same question 4-5 times, and I feel like I’m constantly snapping because I get tired of repeating myself. She has started to get these zoomies where she just wants to run around and be so crazy and make the loudest most annoying noises possible. Putting her to bed feels like an Olympic sport all of the sudden. I tuck her in, read books, do all the things, and she’s still out of her room atleast 4 times before she actually goes to bed. She also questions everything I find myself having to overly explain every situation and I’m just so over it! I’m tired and don’t want to feel like the irritable mean mom but she’s just been on my nerves so bad!

1 week post partum and it’s been rough

I’m one week out with my 2nd baby and I feel like the baby blues are hitting me so much harder this time. My first is 4 years old and I’m feeling myself having feelings of regret over having a 2nd baby. I really miss the routine her and I had and I’m feeling super guilty that her world is being flipped upside down as well as ours. She’s been very sweet and wanting to help with her brother but I can see that she also feels left out at times even though I’m going to great lengths to try to make sure she’s still getting all the love and attention. I know I’m just tired and my hormones are tanking but I don’t know if I can handle this. Hoping the clouds clear in the next couple of weeks and this isn’t full blown pp depression.

Mil overwhelming me

I’m having my 2nd baby in a couple days and my parents are going to be having my 4 year old over for a couple nights while we’re at the hospital. I’m already sad about being away from her and stressed about the whole situation. Well my MIL thinks that because my parents are having her over, she should get a couple nights with her the following week. She keeps bringing it up even though I didn’t ask for that to happen. I don’t want my daughter sleeping away if she doesn’t have to. It doesn’t feel helpful to me it feels overwhelming and it’s just giving me anxiety. Not to mention my adult brother in law still lives with her and while I don’t have any reason not to trust him I just feel like you can’t be too careful. I don’t want to feel like I’m bringing my new baby home and then suddenly I’m dumping my other kid off and she’s just gone doing sleep overs every other night. Am I being ridiculous? I just want all my little family together at home getting used our new normal together. She’s just always so pushy about everything and assumes she can do whatever she wants whenever she wants. When I told her we would want to come home and have a few days to adjust before having visitors, she acted like that was some crazy request. I don’t want everyone lining up to hold my baby and take pics of him the second I get home.

Just for laughs

What are some weird things your kids have done this week? My 4 year old has turned a large Amazon box into her new bed. I woke up at 2 am to use the bathroom and when I went into her room to check on her she has a blanket in there, her pillow, stuffed animals and she looked so peaceful. It was on the floor right next to her comfy full size bed. She would rather sleep in a box….

Going to a celebration 1 week post partum

I have a scheduled c section coming up and my MILs bday is one week after that date. She’s bringing up her birthday to us as if we’re supposed to be doing something with her to celebrate but I’m going to be one week post partum and recovering. What would you do? Should my husband go celebrate with his mom and just leave me and baby at home?

Baby boy names

We’re having our son in just 3 weeks and we love the name Pierce. I’m pretty positive that’s what we’re going with but wanted to hear input on it! What vibes do we get from that name? My daughters name is Scarlett and I feel like Pierce goes well with it (not that it matters) but in my head I feel like they are giving off the same vibe lol

Surviving not thriving

I am 8 months pregnant and I have a 4.5 year old daughter and I’m tired yall and Im feeling like such a bad mom! I feel like I do SO MUCH with my kid and yet we get home from activities and she immediately asks me to play with her. I just want to lay down and rest! She goes to daycare 3 days a weeks and while she’s gone I use that time to get stuff done. Lately it’s been getting brothers room ready and somewhat cleaning up the house, getting my daily walk in and then it’s time to pick her up. When I bring her home to she wants to play play play. Today I straight up said no we’re going to relax and watch tv for a little bit and she watches one episode of something and said “I’m done watching tv I want to play now” omg pleeeease
When I’m not pregnant I love that and I don’t want her to sit in front of the tv for long but it’s now back firing on me. What do I do?! I don’t know if I can survive 4 more weeks lol

Feeling so guilty and overwhelmed with my kid at 8 months pregnant

I’m pregnant with my 2nd and I have a 4 year old daughter who I adore but I’ve been losing my patience with her so much more lately and I’m feeling SO guilty.

She can just be so annoying sometimes and I’m having a hard time dealing with it while being 8 months pregnant and frikken hot and exhausted. Bed time is always a fight. Tonight I gave her a bath, read her stories, cuddled for awhile and then when I go to leave she throws a big weird fit and doesn’t want me to leave. Meanwhile I’m dying to just take a shower and lay down. So I kinda yelled at her and told her to stop and stay in her bed. Of course the second I get out of her room I feel totally shitty. So I gave it a minute and went back in to say sorry for yelling and tell her I love her and honestly she doesn’t even seem to register what I’m saying she just starts being silly again and not listening at all. Then I’m like okay why do I even try. The whole thing is just so much to deal with.

We have 5 weeks left (maybe) just the two of us and I’m feeling like I can’t even soak it in most of the time. Anyone else feel like this? Everyday I’m stressed out that I’m damaging our bond or traumatizing her by getting angry.

30 weeks

Guys I’m 30 weeks tomorrow and I don’t know how I’m going to get through this last two months😭
I’m so sick of not feeling like myself, everything hurts by the end of the day and I’m just generally uncomfy. And the thought of getting even bigger is freaking me out I don’t see how it’s even possible lol.
To top it off I feel super unprepared for this baby. My first pregnancy I had everything pretty much done by now. This time his room is not ready, everything is a mess nothing is organized! Must be 2nd kid things because I’m too busy this time to do any real “nesting”. Anyways just venting I know we all get like this sort of towards the end. I’m stir crazy in my pregnant body hahaha

When it’s just us together she acts pretty normal but everytime we have a party or gathering it’s like her personality switches and she does anything she can to be center of attention for one second. We had our baby shower over the weekend and she was being so damn annoying the whole time! I’m having my second c section and she was telling everyone at the party how she feels SO bad for me because I’ll never get to experience a REAL birth. My best friend put her in her place so fast. Then we’re right in the middle of opening presents and she rushed up to my husband literally got right in his face while everyone is watching us and asks if he can pull his phone out and look at Disneyland reservations because she wants to go with us and only has a couple more weeks to use her ticket. He was like “uh can we do that after we’re done opening gifts”. One of our presents was a bottle washer and she had to yell “back in my day we had to wash bottles by hand”. No one gave her the reaction she was wanting I guess because she repeated it like 2 more times so I finally snapped at her because this is our second kid so obviously I washed bottles by hand the first time around this is like a luxury thing we’re going to have the 2nd time. Finally she cornered me after I opened her present and told me that I better bring him home from the hospital in the outfit she bought him. I’m like dude?!?! I want to pick out the outfit I bring my son home in just mind your own business!! These were just a few things she did in the span of like 4 hours. It’s death by 1000 cuts with this woman I swear
