[Discussion] Why is it so much easier to stay consistent with others than on your own?
I’ve noticed something about myself and I’m curious if anyone else relates. Whenever I try to build habits and goals on my own, I usually start motivated. 1st few days go ok, sometimes even a full week. But then I slowly going down without really realising it. Missing 1 day turns into a few, and before I know it I’ve basically stopped.
There’s no real consequence to skipping, so it’s easy to let it slide. Lately I tried something a bit different. Instead of focusing on getting more disciplined, I just made myself a bit more "visible" to other people. I set 1 simple weekly goal and checked in daily with a small squad.
The goal itself didn't changed at all, but somehow it felt easier to stick to. I think just knowing that other people would notice if I didn’t show up made a bigger difference than I expected. it got me thinking that maybe consistency isn’t just about willpower. Maybe it’s more about the environment you’re in.
Has anyone else experienced this? Do you find it easier to stay consistent when other people are involved, or do you prefer doing things on your own?
