Roommates

I like to imagine there's a place called Hamburger Train Apartments. In one apartment lives Mr. Krinkle and Bob... (temporarily for Bob) in another apartment lives Pressman and Nature Boy, they are the resident Odd Couple. I imagine Mud works there as a handy man, with a young Laquerhead apprenticing under his noble tutelage. Down the hall Mr. Knowitall just got home from a long day at the DMV and is feeding Tommy, his pet cat as he pecks at a bowl of old corn chex. Who else lives together at the Hamber Train Apartments? 🤣❤️

Pulled out of the ground on Mackinac island today!

Climbing around an extremely steep hiking trail near Fort Mackinac when the cannon went off and freaked me out so bad I fell and almost went careening off a lion king perch of rock. My hand was in leaves and dirt where a tree was growing out the side of a hill face and had exposed a bunch of rocks underneath its root and stuff. This rock was in there with a bunch of nothing rocks. One kind of looked like it had crystal impressions on it where a cluster of something had grown into another forming rock but had since moved away and left distinct crystal like impressions in the large stone chunk nearest the pictured rock. First ever Amethyst find from an impromptu trip with my son to show him Mackinac island for the first time. Made the fall and scraped palm totally worth it!!!

I'm guessing this is schist with some kind of inclusion. Am I right to assume this would go badly in a tumbler?

I'd love to reveal the crystal inclusion inside this schist type rock found in south Dakota. I'm afraid tumbling such a rock would just destroy it? Any ideas?

Will polishing with phase 1 take the crystal patterns off of the galaxy stone? Basalt host

I don't want to take away any of patterns of the lower stone, but if I can get it super shiny that would be awesome. Found in lake super. The top stone I would like to reveal more of in the shaping and grinding stage 1. Should I just start them both in phase two with ceramic media/or other phase two ready beach stones?

Most of my hand polished favorites from the tip of the mitt!

green/blue I don't know but my son found it and it's very unique. Brecciated quartz, banded chert, petoskeys and unakite of course. Silicified corals. Feldspar granites.

Before pics of my first tumble. All from northwest lower michigan.

This is what I have in the tumbler right now. Switched to second phase after a day because I they're pretty much shaped how I want them. Been a hand polisher for years now. Excited to see how these come out.

My tumbler would be better without the metal tab that unscrew the lid from the barrel. Anyone have a fix? I've bent it over, something tells me I should cut it off.

I've tried flipping the barrel but that left black rubber down at the plastic covers to the spinning rods.

How to obtain the blue corduroy primus hat from the claypool gold tour without getting to a show???

Can anyone help me obtain the blue corduroy Primus hat with yellow anchor on the front, and Primus in yellow on the back? I can't seem to find it on the Primus store, ebay, or anywhere. Would love to get one.❤️

Dogman? Sister and I saw something northwest lower michigan 2002. We still wonder about it.

Driving home one night on east Torch Lake Dr. My sister and I came up on what looked to be a dead deer on the road. As we crept up to the freshly dead deer we noticed something was on top of it, almost like, squatting over it. It hand two handfuls of the deers insides held up to its mouth, it was sort of hunched over. We came alongside the deer and passed it and whatever was over it just froze with its hands. Up by its mouth and I can still remember seeing its eyes watching our car as we went around and past it. My sister and I were freaking out for the next 10 minutes of the ride home. To me, it almost looked like a big hairy guy, almost like a monkey/ape. To my sister it looked like it had a snout. I didn't see that, she was driving and was closest to it. She got a glimpse of its mouth area and said it had too many teeth for its own good lol. She said she could see holding onto a bite of the deer with its mouth as we went past. All I remember was the look it gave our car. We still tell the story to our parents and friends. We still both swear it was something large over the top of the deer eating it. That's my story.

Grandpa's trail finds. Story says he found the "rounded stone" close to the "hammer stone" is the rounded stone natural or worked? Northwest lower michigan between eastport and the lake. 1920s

Found by my grandfather at some point in the 20s, on an old toe path the natives had made, somewhere north of eastport michigan. That's really all the information I ever got about them.
