Need Help..19F 🙏

Hi everyone,

I'll be joining college soon, but the official reporting date hasn't been announced yet. Based on last year's schedule, I have a rough idea of when reporting might be, so I'm thinking of booking my flight now.

I'm confused between two options:

  • Book a Flexi Fare ticket now based on last year's reporting dates, so I can change the travel date later if this year's schedule is different.
  • Wait for the official reporting schedule and book my flight then (probably 8–10 days before travel).

I'm worried that flight fares might increase if I wait, but I'm also wondering if paying extra for a Flexi Fare ticket is worth it.

Has anyone done this before? What would you recommend? Thanks in advance!

Should I take a second drop for JEE? Need honest advice.

I'm really confused and would appreciate some honest opinions. I was always above average in academics. In Class 12, I scored 95 percentile in JEE Main without being very serious about preparation. Then I took a drop year, but because of procrastination, poor discipline, and not realizing how important this exam really was, I ended up with 92 percentile. Looking back, I genuinely regret wasting my drop year. I now realize that while JEE doesn't decide your entire life, it can have a significant impact on your opportunities for the next 10–12 years. One thing that makes this decision harder is my age. If I take a second drop, I'll be 21 years old by September next year, while many of my peers will already be in their third year of engineering. I'm not worried about age itself, but I do wonder whether the extra year is worth it. At the same time, I finally feel like I understand what's at stake, and I'm confident that if I take a second drop, I'll give it everything I've got. My target would be 99+ percentile, hopefully enough to get CSE or ECE in a Tier-2 NIT. My current best option is BMSCE CSE (Cyber Security) or BMSCE AI & ML through COMEDK. So I'm stuck between these two choices: Join BMSCE and move forward with my career. Take a second drop and bet on myself one last time. Has anyone here taken a second drop and actually made it work? Or did you regret it? I'm looking for honest opinions, especially from people who have been in a similar situation. What would you do if you were in my place, and why?
