Two years ago I was preparing my first steam game demo for my first steam June fest and full release afterwards.
I entered fest with around 1000 wishlist, most of those came from steam pushing my game for several days when I got around 100 wishlists a day. After fest I had around 3000 wishlists. I clearly remember reading about experience from other devs, some got way more than that, but a lot didn't have as much success and end up with few hundreds wishlists from fest. I truly thought those devs didn't know what to do correctly and that's the reason my game got more wishlists. I couldn't be more wrong. This year I entered steam June fest for second time, and I got 150 wishlists during fest. I understood my arrogance two years before when I thought I figured it out. I didn't. Just many things aligned pretty good for me first time. So, that's about it. Hope this helps someone. Never give up, and always keep your head out of the clouds.
Finally got one of tracks from my demo to reach 50 entries. All ghosts from leaderboard is ready to download and race against.
Zadnjih 6 meseci radim na igri poput Trackmania, juriš svog duha ili nekog sa globalne rang liste. Izbacio sam demo za steam fest, ko želi može da ubaci na wishlist, provoza demo i eventualno da neki feedback, bio bih veoma zahvalan. Bar u prvih 4 da budemo.
Igra se zove Vortha racing na steamu.

Passion project started on 10 th December last year, trying to copy TM vibe with some twists and turns. I am so excited looking how leaderboards slowly growing, with some players already finding intended and unintended shortcuts. If you want to check it out, I would love to hear some feedback.

Trackmania like with portals, boosters, magnetic fiels, and ghost race. Race against your best time or someone on global highscore list, unlock new tracks by earning medals and learning fastest lines. Game is highly inspired by Trackmania, and tries to get same vibe and gameplay hook. Currently there's 14 tracks to play, and lot more tracks and features coming before and after steam next fest like new game modes, AI drivers, track builder, achievements and more.

Just released demo for my game few days before fest starts to test file sharing feature using Steam UGC for sharing replays automatically - while playing game, all your best times for each race are automatically uploaded and if your time is ranked in 20 best, will be available for download and race against. I migrated to Steam UGC from firebase and for anyone who deals with file storing and data sharing in their game, Steam UGC is completely free with almost impossible to reach file size limit, opposite for using firebase where I hit free limit at around 50 players. Anyone who can check demo, any feedback is welcomed.

Krajem prošle godine, počeo sam da radim na Vortha racing, mojoj novoj steam igri. Plan je bio da učestvujem na Steam June festu, a par meseci nakon toga full release. Steam fest počinje za 10ak dana, a demo je već aktivan da bih dobio malo feedback-a pre početka festa. Možete se trkati protiv svog najboljeg vremena ili protiv negoga ko je u prvih 20 za svaku stazu (ako je vaše vreme u prvih 20 biće automatski uploadovano i pojaviće se na listi par minuta nakon što ste postigli vreme). Svaka sugestija, savet, ideja, kritika je dobrodošla!
Around 2012 I had this game but my PC wasn't good enough to decently play it. I tried to finish tutorial running at 5 FPS, but wasn't able and that was it. Until a week ago when I decided to give it a shot. After 50 hours I can say I am enjoying this broken masterpiece so much, and I am truly baffled with things developers managed to pull off, and even more baffled with things thay failed. Save sistem is criminal. As indie game developer, I am pretty sure there's no excuse for it. If I can save at any time I want, there's no way losing of hours of gameplay, if I forget to quick save and die, couldn't be prevented. And about video, I wanted to ask how much more of things like this I can expect? It's best thing I encountered so far
