Kamala’s powers written by willow wilson versus written by Saladin Ahmed

So right until the end of the first 10 volumes her powers are used in pretty consistent ways. She can stretch out her arms and legs, make her hands and feet bigger, and shrink and grow. At the end of the run she learns how her powers work by borrowing mass from the future. Repeatedly by the end of Willow Wilson and during Ahmed it’s stated that she can’t shape shift anymore. So then why is she suddenly turning her hands into blades and hammers? It feels lazy and not her style. She doesn’t want to be lethal. As soon as Ahmed’s run starts too she’s stretching like Mr. Fantastic. This makes more sense but like the change in how she uses her powers is never explained. Like it makes sense how she could learn to stretch her torso long and wide and her neck too but like at least acknowledge it. Idk does she start using her powers like this in champions or avengers? How do yall feel her powers should be depicted?

Do you think the O5 getting their time travelled teen selves memories heal any of their trauma?

I’ve have mixed feeling on the adult versions getting their bendis era teen memories but only thought of this recently. Do you think it was healing for any of them? Like Cyclops getting to experience not being the leader. Not having the pressure put on him by Xavier. For Bobby has it ever been touched on how healing it must’ve been for him to get the memories of having a few years being out as gay as a teen when originally he couldn’t let himself have that. It’s been a while since I’ve read all new x-men though so I’m struggling to remember if being in the 2010s marvel era was nicer for the other three too.

What do yall think?

When did they announce this years release plan?

Like the calendar that says when each set is gonna come out and which sets are coming. Like we’re halfway through the year and only know what’s coming out till fall eh? Did they wait until all the UW sets came out so they wouldn’t spoil any story?

Cyclops Dad Series

With such a heavy theme of his character being fatherhood, would other people be interested in a comic where he takes the proper time to be a dad?

Like a slower paced series where he deals with the struggles of raising a child and thinks. I think it’d be in his personality to travel the world with the baby in a baby bjorn. Doing little acts of heroism to keep his anxiety at bay. Visiting people he hasn’t seen in a while.

Obviously I don’t think this would actually happen. I’m just frustrated with him being so antagonistic to the other xmen team leaders rn. Bro needs therapy with a civilian therapist.

Wizards shouldn’t have added Hydra cards in the new set

Like it seems like there’s a lot of them too. Me when I’m playing draft and I’m forced to play the not see archetype. Like I feel like it’s the same problem as warhammer 40k where the space marines and shit in story context are meant to be a critical pastiche of fascism but outside of the context someone can still paint and play their not see cosplay. Universes beyond can’t properly give its cards a context and that flattens the story of the characters and leaves it up to each player’s interpretation to a detrimental degree. Like if bro sits down at the table with a hydra commander there is no way your not immediately sus. Ranting over, fuck corporate bullshit

Life span of mars 4 ultra

Been heavily using (like 10 prints a month) a Saturn 4 for a year and change. The last month it’s being failing prints at a much higher rate. I change the FEP as recommended and have the heater attachment.

In people’s experience how long is the life spans of the mars 4?

Audio Story recommendations

Hi everyone. I really enjoyed and found myself quite excited for every new episode of the mtg story podcast with the last two sets. I’m kinda bummed that in the long break between universes within sets they’re not putting out any one shot stories that don’t necessarily fit in one theme. I’ve tried to look through their archives but found that old episodes were summaries and discussions of the stories not audiobook renditions.

Of the ones that are audio stories which are your favourite? Are there any non official podcasts that read mtg stories?

Pia Nalaar Chief Mechanic Deck Brew

Hi there, thought y’all would be a good crowd for a commander deck review. I really liked the flavour of Aetherdrift and fell in love with Avishkar through its story. I think Pia, Saheeli, Chandra, and cars and thopters are awesome. My pod usually plays with maybe 3-6 game changers in the deck depending on the night. I don’t need to win to have fun but I’d like to know if you think this deck would allow me to do some fun stuff and not feel mana or mana curved screwed. Thanks.

Why does Spiderverse disregards Earth 616 and the world building of the comics

I love these movies, but more and more I think of how the comics existing in their multiverse breaks their world building.

"In every universe Gwen Stacy falls for Spider-Man and in every universe, it doesn't end well...."
"well...there's a first time for everything right?"

In the original ultimate universe Gwen survives. Yes she experienced a lot of hardship, but she came out the other side. It’s not black and white like ATSV makes it. The films rules read black and white with the structure of canon events, which is reinforced specifically about character deaths and Gwen in the scene with Gayatri in, and is brought to our attention from the first act of the film with the above quote that’s been irking me.

My other issue is the idea that there’s only one Spider-Man per universe. That Miles in ITSV being bit by earth 42’s spider means that earth has no Spider-Man. As a long time comic reader and someone who grew up reading Miles’ comics in particular I just can’t believe that. The main 616 comic universe has a dozen Spiders. ATSV seems to make a point of putting Easter eggs to as many Spider-Man adaptations as possible but not acknowledging the comics.

This obviously isn’t a major issue to the films. I just have to not think about the comic books while watching. There’s even more that has to be not thought about if I keep going too like the web of life, and Anansi but we’d be here all day. Now this all could be addressed in the final movie but I don’t think that’d help the films impact. More than likely this film just needs to be viewed as separate from the comics. I just hope they don’t try to bring its rules into the comics because they just don’t work there.

The answer to the question of my title is obviously that they had a unique POV and story to tell which needs its own rules to work. The second films use of cameos instead of distinct inspired by characters like in the first film hurts the immersion in this distinct world and world building for me though.

Has Batman ever apologized?

Last year I read through the 90s robin run and was so bad at how Batman treated her. I was also mad that a whole crossover event happened cus writers wanted to make her look stupid and fridge her.

So I’m asking has Batman ever on the page apologized for how he treated Steph?

Which it being confirmed that in every pack there will be 2 cards of the same character do you think the story for the stretchable students in reality fracture be them finding the Tam from their reality. Then maybe they realize they don’t like this reality’s Tam and are then conflicted about stopping UG Tam and Jace cus she’s their friend. There’s definitely gonna be some big emotional conflict with our defacto protagonist of the 2026 story.
