Just bought Switch 2 for 200 Canadian dollars

I saw Indian reseller who is selling Korean Switch 2 for 200 Canadian dollars (around 145 USD) on marketplace. She was selling regular used Switch for 500.

She put up the wrong price, so I drove 2 hours and snag this before she noticed.

Edit: It does play in English, it is not region locked, or bricked, but sadly, someone already claim Mario Kart World.

My working holiday permit approved after 1 business day later.

I submitted my application on July 31. Since I live in BC, the following Monday was a statutory holiday.

Today, I received an email saying I had a new message in my account, and my work permit was approved!

I lost almost two weeks of my time in Canada, and after seeing several posts from people waiting more than four weeks for approval, I was worried I might have to quit my job because my work permit was expiring and I only had two weeks left.

Thank you to everyone in this community for sharing information and helping others. And a special thank you to u/YYCpops for all the advice and support!

Is it flagpoling or no?

I am currently working on a working holiday work permit and am planning to get another one since I can, as it is part of the IEC program which similar to working holiday visa.

Since the beginning of this year, I have been preparing my paperwork with my immigration consultant. When they asked how I was going to get to the border, I said I was planning to visit my family friend in Seattle for a few days and then come back. I am planning to drive there.

My consultant told me that since I am actually visiting them and have an ESTA, it would not be considered flagpoling. However, my coworker keeps freaking out and saying that it is still flagpoling.

Is it flagpoling or no?

I am just freaking out there seems I can apply online without leaving Canada, but they are it is going to take 6 weeks and my employers is freaking out as well because they can't replace me, it seems.

What should I do?, do I need to go to Mexico?

Does anyone feel sale tax is way to high?

I just feel like I don't want to buy luxury goods in BC because of the 12 percents sales tax. Every time I travel outside Canada, I buy a bunch of stuff and bring it back.

When I ranted to my friends, they told me that in Europe, the sales tax is around 25 percents or even higher, but you get a three years warranty, much stronger consumer rights, and products are only about 10 percents more expensive, and tax included with price tag.

I really hate how the sales tax is so high here, yet we don't even get the same consumer rights that people in Europe do and literally get US equivalent or worse consumer right.

What language do you guys play video game?

I play most video games in English, but for some reason I just can't play Nintendo games in English. I almost always play them in Korean.

I don't speak Japanese very well, but I'm fluent in both Korean and English. For some reason, I feel like Nintendo games are translated much better into Korean than English, especially games like Animal Crossing. It feels much closer to the experience that Japanese players have, at least in my opinion.

It is kind of a niche thing, but I always found it odd because English is much more comfortable for me in everyday life. Yet when it comes to Nintendo games, I just can't shake the feeling that playing them in English feels off.

Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Does CELPIP writing test give you the red underline when wrote some word wrong?

Let just say, when you wrote Specifically with only when one L does it underline with red saying it is wrong?

You know how it works in Window where it doesn't correct someone's grammar but corrects spelling when Window know the error or something like that?

Has EB Games become better since it stopped being GameStop?

I was selling my game at the mall that has an EB Games in it. At the last minute, the buyer ditched me, so I decided to stop by EB Games instead.

Because of their pre-order trade-in bonus, they were actually offering a little more than the price I had listed my game for on Facebook Marketplace. I'm not even sure I'll enjoy the new game since it hasn't been released yet.

Why you should low-ball.

I saw a guy on Facebook Marketplace trying to sell his Switch and 7 games for $700. It hadn't sold for 11 weeks, so I jokingly told him, "Why don't you just take it to GameStop?"

I figured they'd probably offer him around $180 for everything.

Then he started asking questions like, "Do they buy games?" and "Do they buy consoles?" I honestly thought he was joking or playing dumb.

Turns out he wasn't. He actually took it to GameStop and sold everything for around $200.

Looking back, I probably should've just low-balled him and offered $200 myself.

Any places where Gen Z people hang out? Bonus points if they’re also queer-friendly.

I recently found that I am gay, and I found out that some people I thought were my friends are actually pretty homophobic and saying religious rhetoric to me. Right now I only really have one close friend left. I have tried going to drag shows and other LGBT+ friendly places, but there’s usually a pretty big age gap, and I’m hoping to meet more people around my age.

Are there any places in Langley where Gen Z people hang out or where it’s easier to make queer/allied friends?

I like DND, volunteering, improv, cooking, video game, and make-up.

In 2021, I was diagnosed with cancer. After doing the math and talking insurance company, I realized I couldn’t afford treatment in the US. Thankfully, Im a dual citizen, so I moved back to country with free healthcare and was able to recover fully over about for 3 years.

Now it’s 2026, and Ive realized I may have missed the deadline to claim a tax refund from my time in the US I only worked there for about four months, but I likely overpaid taxes during that period.

Is there any way to still recover that money at this point, or is it basically gone due to the statute of limitations?
