Official X4 Pro Shipping Updates

From /u/fun_satisfaction2315 // here.

>Hi everyone, Henry here.

>You’re right. Everyone waiting for an X4 Pro deserves a clear and consistent update.

>First, we want to acknowledge that we did not communicate the changes to the shipping timeline well enough. The information on the product page changed several times, but we did not explain those changes quickly or clearly. This left many of you trying to work out your order status by comparing page updates, order numbers, and other customers’ shipping information.

>We should have shared an update as soon as the timeline changed instead of leaving you waiting and guessing. That was our mistake, and we’re genuinely sorry.

>Some X4 Pro orders have already shipped. Once an order is dispatched, the customer will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.

>To be completely honest, demand for the X4 Pro was much higher than we expected, and the initial stock sold out very quickly. Many more units are still in production. The recent typhoon also affected parts of our production and logistics schedule, so fulfillment is running later than originally planned.

>Based on our latest production and logistics schedule, **orders that have not yet shipped are expected to begin shipping in batches from August 10**.

>This does not mean that every remaining order will ship on August 10. It means that the next batches will begin going out from that date and continue afterward. You will receive an email with tracking information as soon as your order has been dispatched.

>We also need to correct an important detail: the free magnetic case promotion applied to the **first 5,000 orders**, not the first 500. Receiving a free case therefore does not necessarily mean that an order was included in the first shipping batch. We’re sorry that the earlier information was inconsistent and caused confusion.

>The previous “7–10 days” wording was also not clear enough. We understand that many customers reasonably interpreted it as meaning the order would arrive within 7–10 days. We should have clearly separated processing time, dispatch time, and international delivery time from the beginning.

>Higher-than-expected demand and the typhoon explain why the timeline changed, but they do not excuse the lack of timely communication. We should have been more proactive in keeping everyone informed.

>If you have not yet received a shipping confirmation or tracking email, your order is expected to be included in the upcoming batches beginning August 10.

>Please don’t worry: we will make sure every confirmed order is properly processed and shipped. Eligible customers will also still receive their free magnetic case, and this benefit will not be affected by the shipping delay.

>Once your order has shipped, we will notify you by email. You can then track the delivery here:

>We’re sorry again for both the delay and the lack of clear communication. Thank you for your patience, and also for being direct with us about where we need to do better. We’ll take this seriously and provide more timely production and shipping updates going forward.

Orico Hardcase Update!

Original post .. I decided to lean into the mini luggage look noted by u/Which_Heart_983 I went with a Japan themed sticker bomb and then used a bit of sandpaper to give it the worn, _baggage handler special_ look, I think these cases are cheap enough I may grab a few more for all my readers as I enjoyed this process.

Hard Case; X3, X4+Pro

This is the Orico Card Case and it's perfect for all xteink ereaders.

It comes with two layers of foam, remove the card slot layers (very easy, minimal adhesive) and use the extra foam to make it a perfect fit for your chosen device.

I saw someone in this sub months back did this and had it bookmarked for a while, it's made the perfect case to just throw in my bag and have zero worry about my reader getting knocked around.

X4 Pro; A quick poke around & comparing sizes

Just a bit of fiddling, discovery, screen poking, etc. Answering a few common questions.

-----------

Current X4 cases/screen protectors don't fit the pro.

Hold to power on seems slow, but sleep/wake is snappy.

The screen gap/shadow due to the front light layer is noticeable while the light is off but not distracting and mostly disappears with the light on.

The touch takes a little getting used to on a device like this, generally snappy as long as you're not expecting 60Hz.

The font options are good, better than I remember the out of the box experience with the X4 being. On the fly settings etc.

Text is crisp light on or off, more testing to do in the dark but I expect on par with the De-Link & X4 screens. (same screens used, +light, +light/touch)

X4 Pro; What's in the box?

Here's what you get with your X4 pro, note that unlike the X3 with its pogo cable we now get a branded 4 pin (USB data supported) USB-C Pogo dongle.

Literally just picked it up from the mail box, turned it on to ensure it's working. My first impression is that the cloud app seems to be pushed more heavily this time and while you can skip setup the OS doesn't feel as intuitive as the X4/3 and states clearly at the top of the screen for you to bind the app for full features.

We have USB drive support this time allowing you to transfer books over USB so I'll try that first.

Stay tuned, updates to follow.
