Betta’s fins are getting worse and ammonia won’t go down

I’m really worried about my betta, Francis. His fins are almost see-through and raggedy at the ends, and the tips are bloody in two spots.
I tried Kanaplex, but right now I’m just trying to get his ammonia under control because it has been high since I put him in this tank.
He’s in a 3-gallon tank. I’ve been doing water changes and using Seachem Prime, but I’m still getting an ammonia reading. I recently did another water change and I’m trying to figure out what I should do next.
The tank is an older tank, so I’m wondering if I should move him into a completely clean/new tank or if that would just stress him out more.
Would you move him, or keep him in the current tank and keep doing water changes while trying to get the ammonia under control?
I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing for him. I can post pictures of his fins and the ammonia test if that helps.

Fin loss/ripping

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.. my betas fins keep ripping, they seem to be splitting but rip apart, my last beta got fin rot although I had him for 2 years. I got my new fish maybe 4 months ago and now this is happening and I just can’t do a repeat of last time it was traumatic. Iv been doing water changes, took out any things i thought could be sharp, put sponges over the intake. The nitrates are high and Iv been doing the water changes to help that, I’m not sure what is causing it though. I have 2 filters running a HOB and a sponge, which also could be an issue.. I’m just sad also can’t seem to keep many plants alive and I know that could cause a spike but Iv been taking them out asap as I see them. Any advice will be appreciated

my betas fins are ripping..

I don’t know why I did it but when I was setting up my tanks months ago I put a sponge filter and a HOB filter. What should I do. Also my nitrates are high and I can’t figure out why it’s happening i’ve been doing water changes and cleaning the tank every 2-3 days.. I can’t seem to understand what I’m doing wrong

As a man, is secretly paying/ watching and participating in live cam sites in a monogamous partnership common? Would you consider this the same as watching porn or is this in a different category?

I recently found out my man was watching and participating in Cam sites for a long time and spending good amounts of money on them. He is not being very open or helpful with me understanding this situation. What is the reason men feel the need to do this rather then just porn? Looking for different perspectives
