The egos in this industry are something else

Just a quick rant because this kind of thing makes the industry feel so unnecessarily fake sometimes.
I recently worked on a commercial where I was featured, and there was a girl also featured on a separate part of the ad. We got along really well on set. We talked a lot, joked around, genuinely seemed to hit it off purely platonically. She was very friendly and everything felt completely normal.
Afterward we followed each other on Instagram. I noticed she does modeling, has a larger following, and we actually have a bunch of mutuals in the acting/modeling world.
Then like 2–3 days later, I notice she randomly unfollowed me.
Obviously, nobody owes anybody a follow. That’s not really the point. It’s just one of those tiny things I’ve noticed more and more in this industry where everything seems to become a weird status calculation. Who has more followers? Who has the better credits? Who is “worth” networking with? Who looks more important?
This is not the first time this has happened. I meet a fellow actor/actress on set, everything is great, but it seems like they want to be complete strangers again as soon as we wrap.
Maybe I’m reading too much into this specific situation. She could’ve unfollowed for a hundred different reasons. But yes, I’m a bit butthurt about it. I never messaged her or anything. She just unfollowed out of the blue and left me as a follower. It makes me feel like I’m not big or important enough for her to be connected with when we had literally the same job. It reminded me how strange the ego/status culture around acting and modeling can be.
We were literally just two people getting along on a commercial set. Why does everything have to turn into some weird social hierarchy afterward?
We ought to be lifting each other up. Helping each other reach our goals. Sometimes I wish people in this industry could just be normal.

Reminder

Reminder for when you’re thinking about reaching out: the phone works both ways.

Every single day you haven’t contacted them is also a day they could have contacted you.

Think about that.

They’ve probably had lonely afternoons. Quiet drives home. Drunk nights. Random memories of you. Songs that reminded them of you. Places that brought everything back. Moments where they wondered what you were doing.

And through all of that, they still didn’t take five seconds to send a text.

Next time you find yourself thinking, “Maybe I should just reach out.”

Why? Because you miss them? They may have missed you too.

Because you’re lonely? They’ve probably been lonely too.

Because enough time has passed? The exact same amount of time has passed for them.

Because maybe they’re waiting for you? Maybe. But notice what that thought does: it puts the entire responsibility for reconnecting back onto your shoulders.

The phone works both ways.

You do not have to keep being the person who breaks the silence, reopens the wound, tests the waters, or gives someone another opportunity to decide whether they want you.

If they genuinely decide they want to speak to you, they know where to find you.

Until then, you don’t need to interrupt your healing just because tonight happens to hurt more than yesterday. Their silence has lasted every bit as long as yours has.

Do predator catchers just never catch women?

I’ve noticed that on shows like To Catch a Predator and with all the YouTube predator-catching channels, it seems like virtually everyone they catch is a man.

But at the same time, there are plenty of news and true-crime stories about female teachers having sexual relationships with underage students and similar cases involving adult women and minors.

Why don’t female predators seem to show up in these sting operations? Is it because women are less likely to look for minors online, because the decoys/sting methods are more likely to attract men, or is there some other reason?

Has there ever been a notable case of one of these predator-catching groups catching a woman?

AITA for refusing to give my friend $1,000

When I was 20, a friend and and I were both broke and constantly talking about how we needed to get our lives together.
One night drinking beers and shooting the shit we made a deal: whoever saved $10,000 first would give the other person $1,000. Over the next few years, we brought it up constantly. Whenever one of us bought something stupid, the other would say, “There goes the ten grand.”
Eventually, I started taking my finances seriously. I worked extra hours, stopped going out as much, drove an older car, and passed on things I wanted.
My friend went in the opposite direction. He went out constantly, financed a newer car, took trips, and basically lived paycheck to paycheck.
A few months ago, I finally hit $10,000. When finances came up, he laughed and said, “So where’s my thousand?”
I thought he was joking.
He wasn’t.
He reminded me that we’d shaken on it and that I’d spent years acknowledging the deal. I told him the entire point was to motivate each other to save money. Giving away 10% of my savings because I actually followed through seemed ridiculous. He was annoyed, but eventually dropped it.
Then, a month later, his car broke down. The repair is almost exactly $1,000. He asked me for the money again, except this time he wasn’t laughing. He said he genuinely needs it, doesn’t have enough saved, and could lose his job if he can’t reliably get to work.
I still said no. He told me, “You literally have the money because you spent years making better decisions than me. I’m not asking for charity. I’m asking you to honor something you promised.”
Then he said something that actually bothered me:
“You were perfectly happy calling it a promise when you thought you might be the one getting the money.”
Now some of our friends think I should pay because a deal is a deal. Others think it’s insane that I’m expected to hand over money I worked for because of something two broke 20-year-olds agreed to.

Texas Global Consulting

Got an unsolicited call from a Texas Global Consulting telling me they “reviewed at my resume.” And were “very interested” in me as a canidate.

Interesting, considering I never applied there and never sent them my resume.

Then came the long corporate word-salad spiel about growth, opportunity, marketing, advancement, etc. You know the routine: use enough vocabulary and hope nobody stops to ask, “Okay, but what is the actual job?”

So naturally I looked them up.

Their own website says they do outsourced marketing and face-to-face retail sales. I also found previous posts from San Antonio job seekers on this very sub describing remarkably similar experiences. Including people saying they were contacted for interviews despite never applying and descriptions of the actual work involving selling telecom services inside retail stores.

So apparently the glamorous world of “Global Consulting” may involve considerably less global consulting and considerably more standing in a Walmart trying to sell people overpriced phone service.

Out of curiosity, I looked at their office/building too. Right off 410 and Babcock. It did not exactly inspire confidence. Let’s just say the Fortune 500 appears safe from the competition for the forseeable future. MLM vibes immediately. This place tries really hard to look legit while having a “lobby” the size of a bathroom.

Did some more digging into the folks running this “business” and found nothing good. I’ll spare the details. Couldn’t find definitive proof it’s a MLM or Devilcorp, maybe they are using some loophole. Nonetheless, I reported this all to the appropriate consumer-protection authorities and figured I’d post this so other San Antonio job seekers can do their homework before giving these people their time.

Questions

These are questions simply about the information we have. Not meant to convey Kohberger’s innocence or guilt. Questions that stress test this case. It is up to YOU to decide how much weight these questions, and their answers, hold.

How uniquely did the DNA evidence identify Kohberger, and what reasonable explanations for transfer or contamination were ruled out?

What evidence places Kohberger inside the house, rather than merely somewhere in the surrounding area?

How precisely can the cellphone evidence establish his location, especially during periods when his phone was not reporting to the network?

How strong is the identification of his vehicle from surveillance footage, and could other vehicles reasonably fit the footage?

Was there any victim DNA, blood, hair, or other biological evidence found in Kohberger’s car, home, office, or possessions? If not, how significant is that absence given the alleged crime?

Was the murder weapon ever recovered or directly connected to Kohberger?

Apart from the knife-sheath DNA, is there independent physical evidence directly connecting Kohberger to the crime scene?

How reliably could the surviving eyewitness identify the intruder given the lighting, distance, duration of the encounter, clothing/mask, and stress involved?

Does the prosecution’s timeline comfortably allow one person to commit all four killings, navigate the house, and leave when investigators say he did?

Do the victims’ wounds provide information about whether one weapon or one attacker was involved, and how conclusively?

What was Kohberger’s alleged motive, and is there reliable evidence that he knew, contacted, followed, or targeted any of the victims before the murders?

Were alternative suspects or explanations investigated sufficiently before investigators focused heavily on Kohberger?

How much of the case consists of evidence that independently points to Kohberger versus evidence interpreted as incriminating only after he became the suspect?

Could investigators have been affected by confirmation bias once the vehicle, phone records, genealogy work, and Kohberger began converging?

Does the evidence merely make Kohberger a highly plausible suspect, or does it exclude reasonable innocent explanations when the evidence is considered as a whole?

Who definitely knew about David and Celeste? A short summary.

Confirmed to have known about the relationship

Burke’s parents: Dawud and Colleen Burke:

The same testimony established that Burke’s parents knew about the relationship. Public reporting does not specify exactly when they learned, what they were told about Celeste’s age, or how much they understood about the nature of the relationship. Though, David’s mother is accused of admitting she “knew what they would do once alone”. And David claims she gave him advice for what to do when getting a girl pregnate.

Some of Celeste’s school peers:

David is photographed handing 1 middle schooler among a group of middle schoolers $1,000 in exchange for giving Celeste a cell phone after hers was taken away by her parents. It can be reasonably inferred some middle schoolers knew David wanted to be in contact with Celeste, badly. Hence, a relationship.

A middle school teacher:

A short time after Celeste’s body was discovered, a viral video circulated of a middle school teacher telling his class the story accurately considering what little evidence was available then compared to now. This is not to say the teacher fully knew about the relationship during it’s happening, it had been a rumor in the school.

An unnamed bodygaurd:

In the recently revealed texts, David releatedly mentions a body gaurd actively assisting in the plan to remove Celeste from her home dubbed “Operation Awesome” or OA.

Reasonably suspected to have known something

Celeste’s parents: Jesus Rivas and Mercedes Martinez:

LAPD Detective Corey Farrell testified under defense questioning that the parents of both Burke and Celeste knew about the relationship. Celeste’s parents had also consented to her traveling to London with Burke for one week. Note it is disputed whether they knew of the relationship. It is undisputed they knew of David. It is unknown if they knew his age or the level of his fame.

Rob Morgenroth, Burke’s manager:

This is the strongest suspected case. Burke’s money manager testified that he first heard Celeste’s name from Morgenroth. The prosecutor then asked whether Morgenroth had identified Celeste as Burke’s girlfriend, but objections prevented an answer. Therefore: It is confirmed that Morgenroth knew who “Celeste” was. It is not publicly confirmed that he knew she was Burke’s girlfriend. It is not established that he knew her real age or knew the relationship was sexual.

Benjamin Gregor/Greger, Burke’s money manager or management-team member:

He testified that he knew Celeste’s first name, had heard about the London trip and asked Burke about airline tickets for her. This supports the conclusion that he knew Celeste was personally connected to Burke, but it does not prove that he knew she was Burke’s girlfriend, knew her age or understood the full relationship.

Unnamed members of Burke’s family in Texas:

The prosecutor referred in court to Burke taking Celeste to Texas to meet his family, and testimony established that Burke attended church with members of Celeste’s family. That makes it plausible that additional relatives encountered them together, but meeting Celeste does not by itself prove knowledge of a romantic relationship.

Unnamed members of Celeste’s family:

Burke reportedly attended church with members of Celeste’s family. That suggests certain family members knew Burke was present in her life, but the public testimony summarized by reliable outlets does not identify those people or explicitly say they knew the nature of the relationship. Facebook screenshots have floated around of Celeste's family mentioning Burke, but no posts have been confirmed.

Aysia Collins:

Instagram model and influenced. Disputed. She replied to an instagram post of Celeste's missing poster with; "this is my friends gf???". She made an instagram post captioned "tell her about me". Among many videos of David and Aysia hanging out, Collins is alleged to have been the girl Celeste was upset with Burke about having a relationship with. Collins of course denies, but her handling of the situation is incredibly unprofessional. Notably telling someone on instagram to "suck a fart" after they made fun of her for covering up murder. Though there is much "evidence" against Collins, at this time it is all seemingly circumstantial.

Not established enough to list

There is presently insufficient reliable public evidence to say the following people knew about the relationship:

Burke’s brother Caleb (disputed, he has been photographed with Celeste before)

Streamer Neo Langston

Discord moderators or ordinary Discord members

Some of these people may have known Celeste existed, encountered her, been subpoenaed or heard rumors. None of those facts alone proves awareness of the relationship.

Did I miss anything? Let me know.

d4vd roast/hate thread

Imagine being rich, famous, successful, and living in Hollywood. One of the most image-obsessed places, and still being unable to attract women your own age.

David has no "romance" or "connection" with Celeste. He was just a chronically online loser who was completely and utterly incapable of getting laid any other way than grooming a child on discord.

Then, this pathetic excuse of a man ends up pussy whipped. By a 13 year old. Reposting hella tiktoks about how obsessed he is and about how angry he would be if another "boy" touched her. Taking her whole personality of liking Hello Kitty because he had zero personality of his own. He wanted so badly to seem like a gangster rapper texting her all nonchalant about making sex tapes and flying a literal child out to places like Vegas and London. Vegas? Celeste couldn't even fucking gamble for another 8 years! No doubt d4vd looked like a clown not being able to take her anywhere in Vegas.

Here is the most pathetic part; Celeste didn't even worship him the way he wanted. When he texts her about the Vegas trip her reaction is "how much did your dumbass spend for that?" Like holy shit imagine getting bitched out by a 13 year old girl as a grown ass man.

D4vd had no charm, emotional maturity, or an interesting personality. He was so mentally ill he wanted an innocent little girl as his "girlfriend" because that's what he had fantasies about while sitting alone in his bedroom for years. Because he missed out on middle school love he wanted to prove something by stealing a middle schooler. When she threatened to expose him he literally ended her fucking life. Done. Never going to see or hear or breathe again. At 13. Like really sit back and think about how fucked that is.

Then, he goes on to tour and interview like nothing happened. Buying amazon items to cover up her murder. Dozens of air fresheners. What a moron. Of course he completely disrespects her body chopping her up into pieces, not much different from how he treated her body as she lived.

I hope every single day for the rest of his life he thinks about this: How easy, incredibly easy, it would have been to have just left Celeste alone. He could pull and fuck so many hot 18 year old girls, have so much more money and fame. His career was just getting started. A lifetime of luxury.

But no. He threw it all away for a moment of sick satisfaction watching a threat to his career, someone he claimed to "love", die in her own blood. His millions of dollars, public praise, chances of ever having sex (with a woman) again, his friends, his career, his freedom, and, if you believe in that kind of thing, his soul as he spends eternity in hell.

How did Celeste fly with D4vd

I always believed the story that airport security was basically untouchable after 9/11 but this case completely disproves that.
How did Celeste travel through TSA if airport security is supposed to be so strict?
If she flew while reported missing, what identification was used? How did she even obtain a passport or other travel document? Was it forged? If so, how did a forged federal document get through TSA? How did nobody question their relationship?
Maybe they took a private plane, but all these questions still apply. Someone was in the know about Celeste.
Something to think about. I’m sure we will have the answers soon. These are questions I’d like to see answered through the court process and official investigation. Not assumptions.

Edit; after some research I found that D4vd purchased her tickets under “unaccompanied minor.” Yet another incriminating piece of evidence for the pile. Still doesn’t explain how she traveled while a missing person report was filed on her.

Petition calling for a full investigation into Dawud and Colleen Burke

I created a petition asking investigators to fully examine what Dawud and Colleen Burke knew about the of Celeste Rivas Hernandez and whether anyone close to David Burke assisted with concealing evidence, moving her remains, or obstructing the investigation.

To be clear, this petition does not claim that Dawud or Colleen committed a crime. It focuses on the publicly reported fact that they were treated as material witnesses and challenged orders requiring their testimony. I believe those circumstances justify further scrutiny and transparency. Furthermore, articles are now alledging Colleen knew about a potential abortion by Celeste. She was also seen buying firearms after his arrest. This is not illegal. But it speaks volumes about her character. This cannot slide anymore.

The goal is simple: investigators should follow every piece of evidence, examine every relevant witness, and charge any additional person only if the evidence supports it.

This should be about justice for Celeste. Not rumors, harassment, or internet speculation.

Please sign and share. It takes 10 seconds, if that.

If he didn't do it and Celeste exposed him

Obviously he did it. But if he didn't and Celeste exposed him, would the public believe her? Would his career really be ruined?

How close was he to getting away with it?

According to prosecutors’ timeline, Celeste was “allegedly” killed on April 23, 2025, yet her remains were not discovered until September 8, 2025. More than four months later. D4vd continued releasing music, touring and advancing his career during that period. He then remained free for another seven fucking months after the discovery, until his arrest on April 16, 2026.
The moment the Tesla was opened, his chances of him being free ever again pretty much evaporated. The Tesla is in his name. There is surveillance footage of him as the last to drive it. It was parked outside his home. The dominos fall. Blood in the garage found. Amazon purchases found. Everything falls apart and comes together at the same time.

But my question to discuss is this: How close was D4vd to actually getting away with it entirely? It seems to me he was simply too lazy to perform the final step in his murder: ridding the body. He left it in the Tesla for days before it got towed. At any point during those literal fucking days of time D4vd could have announced needing a “mental health day/week”, everyone would have said okay fine sure because being a sensitive manchild is his whole thing. During that time he could have drove his Tesla to a remote coast and dumped the body. Or buried it in the desert. Or incinerated it like he planned to.
Then, we would have been none the wiser. Celeste is just another missing girl never found. D4vd remains beloved and becomes more rich and famous.

Am I missing something? Was he that close to getting away with it?

How can I scientifically prove that my wife loves me?

My wife has been staying out late and refusing sex. She hides her phone a lot. Is there some sort of experiement I can perform over the next 2 weeks to test if she's seeing someone else? Preferably without invading her privacy.

What TV shows unintentionally touch Christian themes?

I recently rewatched Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead and I was surprised by how often it gets me to reflect on ideas like pride, repentance, free will, judgment, and of course, moral decline. I'm not saying either was written as a Christian show, but I do like that they raise questions that line up with themes Christians have talked about for centuries.

For example Walter White's transformation in Breaking Bad feels like a study of how pride can gradually consume a person. The Walking Dead constantly asks what it means to remain human in a fallen world, whether mercy has limits, and how hope survives when everything around you is broken.

I'm curious what others think. Are there any movies or TV shows that, intentionally or not, communicate Christian truths particularly well?

I actually put together a video exploring this through Breaking Bad if anyone is interested

The 8 Direct Answers of Jesus

I noticed while reading through the Gospels is that Jesus usually answered questions with another question, a parable, or an illustration. But there are a handful of moments where He answered directly. After researching, I put together a video examining eight of those passages, what Jesus actually said, and why those answers matter.

I thought people here might enjoy it since it focuses on the biblical text itself. If you watch it, I'd genuinely appreciate any feedback or if you think I missed an important direct answer.
